Updating a .Mac hosted iWeb blog: always all pages, all the time?

Hi there:
I'm creating a blog via iWeb and posting directly to my .Mac account at http://web.mac.com/cheathamlane .
I have quite a few posts now, and it appears that iWeb is re-publishing each and every blog post every time I update/publish. Is there a way to publish only the new or changed posts? It's becoming a bit of a hassle, waiting (and waiting) for iWeb to do its thing.
What is the obvious thing I'm not doing?

When you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above. Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first. Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough. It is never necessary or helpful to post more than about 100 lines. "The more, the better" is not the rule here.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Then you either have a network problem or a hardware problem or a corrupted hard drive. You might try:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
You can also try downloading from another computer on a different network connection.

If your iMac has a PowerPC processor, you can upgrade to OS 10.5 Leopard, which is the max OS.
If your iMac has an Intel processor, you can upgrade to OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, and possibly OS 10.7 Lion.
You have to buy OS upgrades. Updates to later versions are free from Apple's site.

In case you are not aware, Mavericks requires a high speed broadband connection.
In the event you need to restore or repair the starutp disk, OS X Recovery also requires a broadband connection as noted here > About OS X Recovery

15Mbps or less, you may not be able to install Mavericks or use OS X Recovery.

You have some (major) issues.
Are you in Recovery Mode ? Used Option key or Command R to get there?
I would grab the ML installer ESD you saved and do a clean install on another drive and begin to rebuild to a new system.
You may or may not have TimeMachine but have backed up problem files.
Having a bootable backup clone of your system is a must.
Hard shutdowns will add more layers of problems and add to whatever there was before.
Generally there is not a need to use Disk Utility other than to repair permissions either before or after installing updates.
Have you:
tried with everything else unplugged so you don't have any external devices
tried with a safe boot
Why.
After any forced shutdown you should use ML Recovery and one Safe Boot on the first next boot from a working system.

Creating an index of all pages in the application?

Is there anyway I can create a page in my app that displays a dynamic index (list) of all pages in the application? Sort of like a table of contents that automatically updates if I create a new page?

The page comment is the last region on the page definition page. Just select a page, click the icon to edit and then click the Comments 'button' on the far right and it will focus you on that region.
As to why it is not working, what version of APEX are you using? There have been some changes to the views from their debut in 2.2 to 3.0. You should perfect your query using SQL Commands in the SQL Workshop and then can paste it into a report region. If you are using 3.0, you can also use the APEX Views utility under the Utilities tab.

have many valid links on my desktop to locations I go to often. There is nothing wrong with the th links but about 20% of the time the connection will fail and I get a TRY Again message. It always connects 100% of the time on the second try. This occurs on 8 0r 10 different sites on a regular basis.

Something you can try is resetting it all Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. Or go to Settings > Store & sign out & log back in. Another thing you can do is restore your ipod. This has happened to me but the only thing i did was that i created a new account but try doing the things above i just told you. :)
