Updating a table is problem

Question

iam updating one parent and one child table simultaneously, it was not updating the problem is displaying like this
The record cannot be deleted or changed because table 'FamilyDetails' includes related records.
con.setAutoCommit(false);
stmt = con.createStatement();
//parent table
stmt.addBatch("update Employeedetails SET  EmpID='" + EmpID + "', FirstName='" + FirstName + "', LastName='" + LastName + "'  where EmpID='"+EmpID+"'");
//child table
stmt.addBatch("update FamilyDetails SET  EmpID='" + EmpID + "', Spouse_Name= '" + Spouse_Name + "'  where EmpID='"+EmpID+"'");

hi :-)
check the relationships of the tables on your DB, it seems like a constraint.
