Updating ACR to a later version
I currently have Version 7.1 of ACR installed and am using it with PSE11 on my iMac. I have tried several times to update it to a later version, but to no avail. The Help/Update tool tells me I have the current version and I have Photoshop Elements 11 ticked for automatic updates. I have tried downloading Version 7.4 from the web but when I go back to look at what version I am using it always shows as 7.1.354.
On my iMac I am also having no luck viewing JPG and Tiff files in ACR in PSE11 even though I have Camera Raw enabled when I open a file. They open in PSE but not Camera Raw.
I have PSE11 installed on an HP laptop with ACR Version 7.4 and have no such difficulties, but I am tlrying to wean myself off the laptap to use the iMac 100% of the time.
Any assistance as to how I can solve these problems would be greatly appreciated.

What version of iTunes are you currently running?
Have you tried simply downloading the iTunes installer from apple.com/itunes/download ?

After you get Snow Leopard using Niel's link, here is a link to the Combo 10.6.8 updater. It should save you time in Software Update.

I just downloaded and installed Photoshop cc and the Camera Raw version is not the latest one available,so now I can no longer open files from my Nikon D750! Can I update ACR?
I have been using the new version of ACR with PS6 and have been able to open the D750 files,now I'm stuck.

According to the requirements it appears you may be able to run it if you don't have the 8GB version.
The 8GB version was actually a snazzed up second gen with newer iOS software.
If it doesn't see it, the hardware probably doesn't support it.
First make sure you've updated iTunes, then check it again, and if it doesn't show, it probably won't run on it due to the hardware being too slow to handle it.

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

My IOS is 4.2.2 and my ipod doesnt accept later versions. Before updating the software, I used to have viber and now I can reinstall it, because it needs IOS 4.3 or later. Is there any place where I can get the older versions of this app? Also, there are others app that wont install, such as netflix, angry birds, etc

new iphone 5 and 4 year old macbook, and for some reason my computer says a later version of iTunes is required. So, i went to ITunes and found i have the latest version availble at this time. iTunes say phone can not be synced because it requires a version of 10.7 or greater?
iPhone 5 requires OS X 10.6.8 & iTunes 10.7 or greater. I suspect you're running Leopard, 10.5.8, correct? If so, you will first have to update your OS, then iTunes in order to sync your phone.

I have installed CS5 on a macbook pro 10.9.4. I am unable to get the updater to run to update applications to most current version. It tells me there was an error trying to download the update and to try again later.
Getting used to changes in the finder. I finally did see the Adobe Patch installer and am able to update applications individually. Should be able to attend to the main apps I use w/o further difficulty. Thnx for the help.

Since update to later version of Lion, some applications don't work?
Since I updated to a later version of Lion, the following things have stopped working:
-Safari
-VLC Media Player
-Java based things (chatrooms don't work for example)
I did a combo update that someone suggested and this did nothing.
Here are my specs:
Macbook Pro
Mac OS X Version 10.7.4 (11E53)
2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
I have tried removing VLC and reinstalling but no luck.
Please help? I am tempted to just wipe my Macbook clean and start again but that will take forever to get back and my internet is awful.

As has been mentioned you must be connected to a FaceTime session to be able to enter Full Screen.

You can find it by double-clicking the photo area in an AB contact. Mine says Aperture because that is my default photo manager.

For the moment only a few applications support Autosave + Versions. They are mainly Pages, Numbers, Keynote and TextEdit. So depending on what application you are using you may not have that feature available yet. But you can enter the Version UI a couple of ways:
1. Pull down the window name and choose "browse all versions;"
2. Or, pull down File > Revert to Saved. -

how many times do I need to download firefox? I have version 3.6 - told to update to later version. that is another download - giving me 2 firefox on my dock.

How do I update my OS 10 to version 10.3.1.2072 or later?
My Blackberry Classic has a bug: it doesn't charge whem off.
I read here (http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do;jsessionid=5699301A8F9218CF840D56B8EF5D858A?... that to solve that problem I must uptload my OS to version 10.3.1.2072 or later (currently I have the 10.3.1.1154 version).
But the Blackberry Link doesn't uptdate the OS (it tells me that there are no updates avariable).
So, how do I update the OS 10 to version 10.3.1.2072 or later?

Go to Solution.Your version is quite ancient indeed! The most recent from BB (not necessarily from the carriers) is SR 10.3.1.1784 / OS 10.3.1.2582.
Hmmm...the concept of "safe"...hmmm...difficult to really answer. For me, both methods are indeed safe...I have used both methods several times, and only once had any issue at all (a corrupt AutoLoader file...easily fixed by obtaining a replacement from a more trustworthy source). Indeed, with the most recent set of 10.3.1.xxxx releases, there are many reports of issues specifically caused by the "official" installation methods which actually have been cured by these unofficial methods.
So, "safe" tends to vary depending on current conditions. But, as always, YMMV -- and it is 100% your decision as to what is "safe" for you.
