Updating Acrobat 6.0 Standard without CD

I am trying to install updates to acrobat 6.0 standard, but cannot find the installation disk. It wants the msi file off of that disk in order to install the updates. If I were to put in a disk for 7.0 or 8.0 will it read that msi file and continue installation? Or does it have to be a 6.0 disk? Thanks in advance.

Can I update my licensed Acrobat 8.0 Standard somehow?
If so, please tell me how to do it.
    Thank you.

You need at least Acrobat 9 to be eligible for upgrades, so it's a moot point. Simply buy a new license of a current version.

  • I am trying to install update 11.0.06 for my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but without success multiple times.Get error 1603 each time,

I am trying to install update 11.0.06 for my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but without success multiple times.Get error 1603 each time. I have tried disabling my antivirus software without success. I have looked for solutions to error 1603, and have tried what it suggests (empty temp files in Windows, etc.), also without success. There is nothing that mentions Window 8 or 8.1 operating system, though. Is this the issue? Please help.

    Hi Dawn,
We might want to have a look at the install logs to determine the cause.
Please try the following basic steps :
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.
    Regards,

  • How can I update Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard

How can I update Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard after installing it on Windows 7? Ive tried a few AcrobatUpd8**_all_incr.msp files but I get an error that the program to upgrade may be missing. I cannot afford to upgrade it to X* when this works for what I need it for which is simply to break up multi page documents created by Quickbooks.

Certainly, the printer driver in Acrobat 8.0 cannot install in Windows 7 64 bit - it wasn't written too. Apparently, though, 8.1 is capable of installing the printer driver.
Unfortunately, Adobe have taken down the page with release notes. But you may need to use the *efg* (English, French, German) versions. See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-patch-acrobat-reader-7.html
After 8.1 there is a "universal" (all language) update.

  • Update acrobat 9 standard no pdf printer

I updated Acrobat 9 standard with 947 and the pdf printer vanished. Then update with 954 and still not there.

Tried repair. Didn't work. Discs are at home. I am at work (a store). This happened to me once before and someone in India (where else?) took over the computer remotely and fixed it. I phoned India a while ago but poor connection, could barely understand the accent and got interrupted a lot by customers. I think I will uninstall and reinstall tomorrow. It was an upgrade from 6, so I have to have the serial number from 6 to install. All a big pain. Problem is, I use it a lot for business and I have to get it up and running.

  • Update for Acrobat 6.0 Standard

    Hello,
I am the System Admin for a small business.
We are running Acrobat 6.0 Standard.
Is Acrobat 6.0 Standard going to get (or already has) the patch for the latest security vulnerability?

Is there any indication of the specific folder you are having problems with. Are you logged in as the administrator (or the same as when you installed) and have anti-virus disabled during the update? You might also try the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows.

  • Error Message 1603 when updating Acrobat X Standard

I tried to update Acrobat X Standard Version 10.1.4 and got the 1603 Error Message. I am running Windows7. After reviewing the suggestions I shut down all my applications, rebooted the computer, restarted Acrobat X Standard and again tried to update with the same result. In addition, when I start Acrobat X after a reboot I am prompted to run Adobe Application Manager and then I have to enter the S/N for both Acrobat X and for the Acrobat 9 from which I upgraded to X. Any suggestions? Many thanks.

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard Combine Files Format Issue

I have an issue combining multiple PDF files into one. Every week we create a sales deck that is made of up 30 or so files. most of the files are created from a program called Cognos Impromptu using the Cognos PDF Server 5.0.44.0. According to the document properties, it creates a PDF Version: 1.3(Acrobat 4.x). I can not change this conversion setting.
I then convert several word documents and Excel documents into PDF files separately and then combine them all together. These individual files are created using Acrobat Distiller 7.0.5 (Windows) and creates a PDF Version: 1.4(Acrobat 5.x).
The problem happens when I throw one of the files created from Cognos into the mix. It causes the formatting on the PDF files created from word and excel to become "ugly". Random letters just drop off from the report and make it unreadable. Pages created from the cognos reports are always ok. If I try the combine excluding the cognos converted PDF files, it works perfectly.
This happened when we got new computers last week. By some stroke of luck, I was able to fix it on my computer and I don't have the issue any more. However, I am trying to fix it on my coworkers computer and Im not having any luck. Our settings match perfectly in Acrobat, Distiller, and PDF Maker installed in Excel and Word. I don't even know what I did to fix mine.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. We are both running Windows XP and have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard edtion.
    Thank you

    Bill,
thanks for the reply. I think i got it. When they gave us the new computers, they installed a copy of acrobat without some of the latest updates. update 7.0.5,.7,.8, and .9 were missing from our programs. I also noticed that her create to PDF setting for microsoft office was set to standard but the distiller was using high quality. i think fixing the combination of the two may have fixed it. I am going to try and create a full report and see. I will post back and let you know if the issue is gone.
    thanks again.

  • Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard question

I purchased Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard many years ago. I loaded in on my new HP Pavilion and tried to update to a recent version through the downloads available on the Adobe website. I was only able to dowload up to version 6.06. There wasn't a 7.0 standard english version available on the website to download. I am not able to download more recent version. Is there a way to get to the most recent version without having to download every subsequent version since 6.0?

Which is the latest version of Acrobat that you have purchased?
If version 6 then 6.06 is the latest free update that you can download.
    Versions 7, 8, 9, X were all paid-for upgrades.
The current version is XI but only versions 8, 9 and X are eligible to upgrade to XI.

  • "Invalid Serial Number" with "Acrobat 7.0 Standard"

I have a retail copy of "Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard" with a valid serial number I am trying to install. I understand that the activation servers are down, so I had downloaded the installer executable from the Adobe website so I can install without communicating with the activation servers. (22001904.exe)
I am now repeatedly receiving a "Invalid Serial Number" message when trying to install. I have verified with Adobe customer service that my serial is valid and I have the correct installation executable. Aside from that the Adobe customer service have been support me any further, and suggested I turn to the community based forums.
Any work around for this or known fixes? Thanks!

http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l provides the information needed about the license issue. To use AA7 with Win 7, 32 or 64-bit you will have to add a PS printer. The Adobe PDF printer from AA7 will not run on Win7 and AcroTray will fail also. To get around the problem you will have to install a PS printer, either from Adobe or one of the HP color PS printer drivers. After installing, go to the properties and change the name to Adobe PDF and change the port to FILE. You will always have an extra step in the PDF creation due to the failure of AcroTray. You will have to open the file created by the printer in Distiller to create a PDF.
You will also want to do the updates (ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/).
