Updating already published folio

Hello.
I am not very sure, how to update already published folios. Yes, i know, there is a update button DPS Folio Produser
But, if i upload folio to my user account, then share it to application acount for distribution? In application account i copy my already shared folio and publish it.
After updating content in my account the content of the updated folio is not transferred to the published folio in application account.
Must i copy the folio again and publish it again? And my clients must download that folio again?
I tried it and somehow my clients began to see 2 copies of the magazine in distribution app.

iGeo suggestion is the way to go in your case.
1. Have your freelancer share the corrected folio with your(application account)
2. Open the shared folio
3. "Copy to" the corrected article into your live folio
4. Delete the outdated article from the live folio
5. Re-arrange the articles to order
6. Hit the "Update" button on your folio producer dashboard
You should now see the changes in your live folio

DId I have to continue working in Indesign with the same ID but no update/re publish it in Folio Producer (this option scared me totally... what if mu draft goes online???)
Did I have to recreate another folio and after testing it, publish it with the same Folio name and description ?? ( not sure it will update the same file as it is not the same)

Updating already-published album

This doesn't seem to work for me. If I make a selection of pictures in iPhoto (5.0.4), I can publish them to Homepage just fine. If I later re-publish those pictures with some changes (photos edited, new ones added to selection, etc), iPhoto pops up a window with three options, one of which is to update the Homepage. Unfortunately, I randomly end up with either a new page, my old page unchanged, or a completely different .Mac gallery of mine gets changed! I end up deleting my old gallery (manually through .Mac web interface), and creating a new one from scratch.
Sorry I can't be more specific. I'm new to .Mac, and I've only published a few albums so far. If I'm overlooking something obvious, I'd love to hear what it is before my next Homepage publication.

Helicon, what a coincidence! I too am from Earth.
To add photos to an already existing page:
In iPhoto, select the photos you want to add.
From the menu bar go Share>Export>file export. At this point you will need to set the options the way you want. The "Scale images no larger than:" should be 800x600. At least this is the default iPhoto uses, you can use what you want though.
Click export, and export it to a new folder on your desktop.
Now go to your iDisk>pictures>photo album pictures folder. You will have to click around in each of the folders there to locate the folder that contains the pictures of the published page you are wanting to add to.
Once you locate the correct folder you are wanting to add to, just drag the photos out of the new folder of exported photos from the desktop to that folder within the iDisk. Wait for the iDisk to sync up.
Log in at .Mac homepage, select the page you added to and click edit. Your new photos will now be there. Make your text edits and click publish.
Before you go to view your new updated page, clear your browsers cache.

Error when updating published folio

Preparing to submit app for iTunes approval and testing using TestFlight. All was going well until I tried to update content in an iPhone rendition. One article needed an edit, the edit was made and folio was shared with application account. I copied the corrected article to the published folio and deleted the old article. It's published as Public and Retail. Folio Name and Product ID were not changed.
After updating the published folio, the viewer shows there is an update available for that folio. But when tapping to download the update, I receive an error that says "the file is missing or is invalid".
Please help if you can...

The in-app and Product ID match. I re-published the folio and now I can download it in the viewer app in TestFlight, but the updated article is not there. I selected Update folio again, but the old article is appearing in the viewer and there is now notification of an update now. Is this an issue with caching in TestFlight mode?

You cannot retrieve the already published site as iWeb CANNOT open it - it has no import facility.
You need your domain.sites file, which you can find under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. You do not need any kind of account for this because it is your domain.sites file that resides on the hard drive of your Mac anyway. Find this file and you can alter your website.
Use a spotlight search to try and find it and if this does not work you can download something called Find Any File. If you really can't find it, then you'll have to start from scratch because iWeb cannot open a site that is already published.

Updating an already published book on iTunes Producer

How do I go about updating my already published paid iBook without using iBooks Author? The reason is that I created my epub in InDesign and so I cannot open the epub in iBooks Author for me to update it using the iBooks Author to iTunes Producer method...
Can I just re-upload the file on iTunes Producer and actually have it be a new update to the book on iTunes?

There is no way to import your original InDesign created ePub... into iBooksAuthor.
You can update your inDesign files..and upload as an update.
Only you know if the book is selling ...and at what rate of sales...and therefore that information is the catalyst for your choice. If it is selling well -it would seem worthwhile investing some time to rebuild and update it using iBA.
You mention spending a few days creating your book.....there are many members here who spend months creating so e examples of the most brilliant interactive iBooks currently available in the store. However, only you can decide which of the options available to you..to opt into.

Folio Producer fails to update older published issues

A client wants me to update an advertisement in several past issues including issues published in January and February 2012.
I updated the article in the folio and go to the Folio Producer to update the published issue, but either immediately get a failed attempt or it will process up to 20% before failing. I have tried publishing multiple times and it constantly fails.
Has anyone else come across this problem?

Folio producer not updating folios on app after publishing folios, before May updates it used to update my folios right away, it's been 2 days and my folios has not been published or updated. please help

yes I did, i even unpublished the folios adn then published them again, i made them public when publishing and it still doesn't make the updates on the app, on the folio producer it shows the latest files and that the updates request was sucessfull. But istill no updtes on app,

Updated app causing already downloaded folios to re-download

Hi All,
I just updated our multi-folio app (professional license) from V21 to V25. When the app is updated on the tablet, all previously downloaded folios are having to be re-downloaded and are, thereby, counting against our license. Is this correct? Also, I am hoping to utilize the background downloading but I don't see where it is available. Is it part of the Producer Tools? Thank you in advance for your help.

When you say the folios are being "re-downloaded," do you mean updated or downloaded from scratch? When you update your app, any downloaded folio should still appear in your library. If you updated the folios, your users can update these folios as well, but updates don't count against your download bundles.
Background downloading works only in Newsstand apps. With a non-Newsstand v25 app, your users will be able to start a download and exit the app or view a different folio while the download continues, but background downloading is Newsstand only.

Replace published folio?

This is a follow up to this question really. Having inadvertently (and briefly) published an update to a folio that was already live, with one that had the wrong viewer version, we have unpublished the erroneous folio.
As we can't rollback the viewer version I believe we need to create a new folio with the update content in it. If it is new, but all of its details (folio name, publication name etc) are the same as the currently live one, and we publish it, will people that have the current version see this as an update or a new issue? This isn't a scenario I've manage to find described in the documentation.

The default viewer version (which I think of as the "folio format") is v26. If you leave the default setting selected, you should not have any incompatibility problems because while the viewer version changes with each release, the folio format hasn't changed since v26. This is described in a couple different notes on this help page, but that's a lot of information to wade through.
Unfortunately, it's easy for people to get tripped up. When you see "viewer version" in the UI, it's reasonable to think that you're missing out on certain features if you select an older format instead of the newest one. At the same time, guidance from a number of different sources indicates that the viewer version needs to be equal to or smaller than the app version, or your users will be prompted to update their apps. Newer apps can always read older folios, but older apps cannot read newer folios.
It would be great if you could select a lower viewer version after you realize your mistake, but that would require more engineering effort than the team wants to spend. It's a similar issue with changing the article format. If you decide you want to switch an article from PNG to PDF, for example, you have to delete and re-create the article instead of changing the setting.

Content does not update when published

My content is not updating when I publish updates to my app. Side loading shows the updates, but an updated published folio doesn't. On the third try, I got a blank light grey screen. I finally had to unpublish and republish the content, which is obviously not an ideal situation.
Are there any known bugs or problems at the moment that could be causing this issue? The DPS Status page doesn't have any info.

I'm not aware of a way to get out of this state cleanly. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixes the problem (unless your unpublish/republish again), but it's difficult to tell your customers to uninstall/reinstall. Another option is to unpublish and then publish the affected folios as different folios, but then some of your users will end up with two versions of a similar folio until they archive the older version.
Let me ask around to make sure that I'm correct about the cause and to see if there's a cleaner workaround.

Does iTunes Connect Christmas break mean apps won't update with new folios over Christmas?

I have 2 folios that are due to be released to my app this Christmas - both fall within the 22nd-29th window iTunes have chosen to close down.
So even though I can publish my folios through DPS over Christmas and pre-plan my app description in iTunes accordingly - before the 22nd - will those published folios not appear in my app?

Do folio updates count toward folio downloads?

Sorry if this has been covered but I can't seem to find this answer on the discussion forum or anywhere on the Adobe site/FAQ. A client cornered me on this question so I need to respond accurately to them ASAP...
For Professional License I understand that...
- If a folio is downloaded by a user, it obviously counts toward the overall included/purchased folio download bundle
- If a folio is deleted, but then redownloaded by that very same user it still counts toward the overall included/purchased folio download bundle
But if an update to a folio is pushed out to users who have already downloaded that folio, does that partial download for the updates to that exisitng folio already on that user's device count as a new "unique download"? In other words, does a download incur every time Adobe's Servers are accessed by a device?

no, just update your content and recreate the Single Edition App. Your certificate should still be valid so there is not need to recreate these.
... your App ID absolutely need to be the exact same one you used for the first version if you want to make sure this is an update.
