Updating anything in CS5

I just installed CS5 to my new laptop (which has Windows 8) and I can't get anything to update. I've tried it manually and via the "help" tab in Photoshop and Bridge. I get an error message every time. What I really need is Camera Raw to be updated, because without that I can't view my images. I'm stressing out because I never had this issue on my previous laptop. Please help!!

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. And I fail to see what compatibility issues you are trying to fix. Illustrator allows to save to a variety of formats, including older versions of its own AI files...

Updating Dreamweaver from cs5.5 to cs6

I'm looking to update from DW cs5.5 to DW cs6, and am wondering is this a simple process? I always worry about doing updates because it seems like they sometimes can be trouble. How will it affect any sites that I have made in Dw cs5.5? Are there any know problems after doing the upgrade? Any info on making this change would be super, thanks in advance...

Ok, just trying to make sure I'm understanding...if I purchase the upgrade to go to Cs6 it's the whole program?
This is probably the dumbest question of the whole night but I'm missing something, if it is the whole program why is the price so much different then purchasing it on it's own???

The most difficult part of migrating was getting my custom snippets folder into CS6. I had to create a custom snippet in DW CS6 first. Then I was able to move/copy custom snippets from old version to new CS6 folder.

As per your second statement above, if I'm wanting to move my sites that were made in cs5.5 to DWCS6 then I have to do the Export Site Definitions, import process correct?

Updated to inDesign CS5 now crashes making PDFs

I updated to inDesign CS5 and cannot create a PDF of this updated inDesign file. Made a new file and it made a PDF.
I don't want to start over on the 144 page book. Any ideas?
I also updated to Acrobat 9 at the same time.

Well, pretty much. I did mean use move pages as described , and you have to do that in the same version. If that fails, you can try copy/paste, but again, only in the same version. You cannot copy text objects and paste into a previous version as editable text, and I'm not certain other types of objects would make it, either. To move your text back to CS3 you would need to select and copy the actual text.

You can log out of the currently logged in account by taping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and you can then log back in.
If you updated your existing account with a new email address then that shoud 'refresh' it on it
If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can redownload its content and download updates to its apps. You should be able to update an account's email address via this page : http://appleid.apple.com

Are you aware of any problem with a previous purchase ? You need to add a valid payment method to your account. Purchasing and redeeming an iTunes gift card will work

How do I get my Apple ID off my daughters iPhone that I gave her as a present? She Can't update anything without it going to my Apple ID password entry screen.

I need to get my Apple ID off of my old iPhone 5. I gifted my old iPhone 5 to my daughter as I got the new iPhone 6. I of course have no problems but my daughter can't update anything really without the store telling her to enter my password for my Apple Id. This is my third iPhone and I have never run across this problem before due to the fact my iPhone was never in great condition (#1) or I lost it and had to go retool at a retail store (#2). If there is any help for a poor guy like me let me know I'm racking my brains trying to tackle this one and it's not looking good for me. Thanks for trying to lend your expertise everyone.

Right. To figure out which of the Updates is asking for your ID, do not click Update All. Click on each app, one at at time to Update (this would be under the Update option in the App Store - you will only see apps there with the Update next to them that actually have updates pending). If it asks for the password to your Apple ID, then that app should be deleted.
So, it is good that her ID is the one signed on to everything on the phone now. Once you delete the apps from the phone, then she will purchase new versions of those apps using the App Store on her device. When she does that, the app will be purchased with that ID (or if free, will be associated with that ID since it was the one that downloaded it).
If she is primarily concerned about her Line app and her photos but nothing else, then you can just press on one of the icons on each Home screens until they all wiggle, and then click on the little "x" in the upper left-hand corner of the icon to delete it. Core apps will not have an "x" since they cannot be deleted. So, just delete everything with an "x" except the Line app....

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.

The Adobe auto updater is highly unreliable.
You need to look for and download the update yourself and then manually apply it as per the detailed instructions on the download page:

Updater Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.2 fails to install

Any ideas here...I keep getting a signal from Adobe Updater that my Adobe Bridge CS5 needs an update. Downloads CS5 4.0.2 ok...then the installation fails...no logging appears to occur of the problem. Has anyone dealt with this before, I cant seem to reach Adobe support.

Adobe Updater ask me to update to Bridge CS5 4.0.2 after applying Bridge CS5 4.0.3 Update

Downloaded the Bridge CS5 4.0.3 updates from Macupdate and Adobe Download Update site, and have installed it. The installation process went fine, and Adobe CS5 4.0.3.9 as shown in the About dialog, run fine.
However, when I hit "Updates" from Bridge CS5 Menu, the Adobe Auto Updater started and prompted me to upgrade to Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.2.
Version 4.0.2 is the prior version on my Mac before applying the new upgrade to 4.0.3.
If I hit Update, Adobe Auto Updater will download Bridge CS5 4.0.2 and install fail.
I think 4.0.3 update is not yet integrated into Adobe Auto Updater.
Please fix this! Or I'm the only one who have this problem?

You need to understand that Adobe is a huge, inefficient and unresponsive bureaucracy.
Not only are the engineering teams for the various applications in the creative suite in different cities but in different states. The installer and updater teams are also separate entities.
Even Adobe program managers have lamented publicly that the installers and updaters are a huge embarrassment to them. Privately, some of them regret that they can't say publicly what they would like to do to members of the installer and updater teams.
The false-positives have been showing up intermittently for many years. At other times, the updater fails to inform you of available updates, or the installation through the updater will fail or be incomplete.
As I said earlier, I just ignore the auto updaters and perform all my downloads and installs manually—for all my Adobe applications. I've been doing this for at least six years, possibly even longer, and I've never had a problem this way.
