Updating apps no longer sold in that country

I had purchased an app which, after several days, appeared no longer on the app store for my country. After the iOS 5 upgrade, I found out at the app has an iOS5 upgrade version which prevents crashing the app on the new iOS 5. But when I try to upgrade it at the App Store, I am told that the app is no longer available. How do I get this update?

But even if I did, the app was purchased with an account in my current country. Does this mean all my apps will move, too? What if my other apps are no longer sold in that country? Will I have the same problem with them, too?
This is something like the DVD/movie region business when one country's DVD cannot be played in another country's DVD player.

  • Updated apps no longer work on my (old)iphone

I recently restored my iPhone (original) and now some of my most prize apps won't install b/c they are no longer compatible.  Is there any solution?  Buying a new phone right now is not an option.

Don't buy a new phone. Sometimes some apps are old and have just not been updated. Sometimes you just need to make sure that you updated them to the latest version for your iOS level. You can also try to remove them from the iPhone and copy them back, it helps for some crashing apps. Since you have the original phone, you might be stuck with an old iOS that cannot be updated so be careful when you update apps because sometimes they only support newer iOS versions.

  • Trying to update apps but keep getting message that my Apple ID can't be used to purchase from the iTunes store but it works on my iPhone & computer?

OS is 5.1.1 but it says no updates available. I've had the iPod for a few years but if I remember right it's 3rd Gen. Model #MC011C. I have no problems purchasing or updating apps on my iPhone, and I went to iTunes in my computer and purchased a song just to see if I could, and didn't have any problem. And I have tons of memory left on the iPod.

    Thank you for your answer
I went to the App Store app and selected "Updates" along the bottom menu. It said 11 updates were available. I then chose "Update All." Before any updates could begin, the message popped up that "This Apple ID cannot be used to make purchases from the iTunes Store." That popped up twice, then the same message with, "Please enter another Apple ID" added. I tried 3 separate times (getting all 3 pop-up messages each time). I then tried updating apps via the App store app on my iPhone 4 and it worked fine. Then I signed into the iTunes store on my computer and bought a song (thankfully one I like ) and that worked fine. I tried on my iPod one more time before finally coming here to post a question.
A few minutes after posting my question (and the reason I came back here, not knowing I'd received an answer) I thought I'd try one more time. This time, it worked with no problem and all the apps updated. So I don't know if somehow my purchasing something in iTunes on my computer helped, or creating this community ID did, or if it was just some temporary glitch. Whatever it was, it's working now.  Hopefully it doesn't happen again.
    Thanks again!

  • Can't update apps and does not show that I can update the iPad?

When I try to update apps it says that I need to update to iOS 6 or later. When I try to update it says that iOS 5.1.1 . How do I get the iOS updates I need so that I can update my apps?

If you have the iPad 1 the highest iOS level it can be updated to is iOS 5.1.1. If App updates require iOS 6 or higher you will not be able to get them.

  • Updater wants to update app no longer installed

The Adobe Updater in my menu (Mac OSX v10.9.1) wants me to update Indesign CS6.  Two things odd about this:
    1. Only the OLD updater (with the Adobe "A" icon) is insisting I need an update. The new updater (cloud icon) is fine.
    2. I deinstalled Indesign CS6 and am running Indesign CC.
How can I get this to turn off? Maybe the old updater will finally go away if we fix this!

The v10.6.7 combo update includes bug fixes that may help.
This is not true. And you have been repeatedly told that it is not true. The 10.6.7 delta and 10.6.7 combo were released at the same time with different purposes. The 10.6.7 delta can only update the installed version of Mac OS X 10.6.6 to version 10.6.7. The combo can update any installed version of Snow Leopard (10.6, 10.6.1, 10.6.2, etc.) to version 10.6.7.
There is no difference in the version of the MAS in the 10.6.7 delta and the10.6.7 combo. The MAS in the delta and combo contain bug fixes over the MAS version installed in Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6. It is false to assert users seeking help that the 10.6.7 combo has bug fixes for the MAS installed by the 10.6.7 delta.

  • How do i reinstall the OSX mountain lion on my mac bought at different app store when living in that country?

  • I can't access iTunes Store to update apps

When I try to update apps I get the message that I iTunes Store cannot be connected to. I have full wifi, no problems with Internet or mail. When I search the store for apps, they appear. Just can't buy or update.

Sometimes this works for that issue but YMMV.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.
And you can try Apple's troubleshooting steps.

  • Updates app *always* thinks I have an update, even when I don't

This is more than an annoyance than anything else but the OCD in me would love to get it resolved.  I have a Verizon Palm Pre + (1.4.1.1) with a bunch of apps installed plus Preware for some patches.  Sometime in the last month or so (I don't remember when exactly), the Updates app started acting a little strangely.  Now, when I run it, it always tells me there are updates available and presents me with the Show Updates button.  So I press the button and most of the time, there are no actual app updates available.  Sometimes there are some available and that works fine to update them.
    So:
how can I get my Updates app to stop telling me that updates are available when they are not?
Additional news:  Preware doesn't show any updates required
    Thank you!
    Will

    Hello and welcome to the forums;
This issue has been reported to our engineering department, however it is not affecting everyone. Since you have Preware/patches/homebrew installed, the first step I need to suggest is to remove all Preware/patches/homebrew and perform a partial erase, then try the Updates app.
As some patches persist even after a partial erase, if you still have problems with the Update app, I would also suggest reinstalling the OS using the webOS Doctor and trying the Updates app again.
If after this you still see the problem, then you may be affected by this known issue.
    Hope this helps,

  • How do i uninstall a purchased app (that no longer appears in the purchased app list in the store) so that i can repurchase and have the app appear as "purchased" so that i can get updates as the software is updated periodically?

I am looking for some help with the app store.  I recently purchased an app (aperture) in the app store and subsequently apple refunded the purchase price.  However, the downside of this is that aperture no longer appears as a "purchased" app within my app store account.  Accordingly, i don't believe i will get updates as the software is updated periodically.  Apple has instructed me to delete all my aperture files, reboot and then revisit the app store to re-download and it should let me pay for the app and redownload just as if i had never had the app before.  However, when i go to purchase aperture, i get a warning that it has already been purchased and that i can re-download for free.  That sounds great but again it won't appear in the "purchased" list in the app store b/c of the original refund from apple.  I never thought i would have this much trouble trying to pay someone for a product!
    Questions:
Is the app store looking to my hard drive for traces of aperture to determine whether it has been purchased or is it looking at some kind of purchase history within the app store?
Is there anyway to wipe my hard drive clean of aperture files or wipe clean my app store purchase history so that i can start over?
If none of this is possible, does anyone have a possible solution?
If i were to redownload aperture (currently for free since it won't let me pay) when a subsequent update comes out (say it goes from version 3.2.2 to 3.2.3) can i then elect to buy aperture, pay the fee and will it appear as a purchased app and allow me to get upgrades going forward?  Would any data be compromised with this?
    Many thanks for your help!

    1. Do you have a backup connected to your Mac that contains the app? If so, yes the MAS can detect that and believes that the app is installed.
    2. If the app no longer appears in the purchase history on the Purchased pane in the MAS, then it would seem that Apple has taken care of that.
    4. Updates, such as you describe are free. Upgrades are not. An upgrade is a new paid version of the app, such as v 3.0 to v 4.0.

  • Can't update Apps. Wants me to verify old Apple ID that no longer exists.

This is really annoying. . . I go to update my apps in my iPad & iPhone but when I go "Update All" it asks me to sign in with my old Apple ID (that email address no longer exists).  Even if I put in the old password associated with that old ID it tells me I need to verify that Apple ID and that an email has been sent to that old email address (that no longer exists!).  It's crazy as I have not used that address for years and two years ago I associated that old ID with my new email address, but I couldn't change my Apple ID to reflect my new email address so it just kept the old address but my receipts were being sent to the new email address. .. confusing, but it worked.  Now I have a @me.com address and an Apple ID that utilises my @me.com account, but even when I sign out of iTunes/App Store and sign back in with my new Apple ID, I cannot update apps. . . I can purchase news apps, but I can't update anything.
I'd really like some help here.  I have gone to the Apple ID webpage and tried to log in to the old address in order to delete it or whatever but when I do it says it is trying to verify that email address (which it can't as it no longer exists), so when I option to put in another email address for it to send the verification to (my @me.com account) it says "You cannot create an Apple ID using a MobileMe account. If this is your email address, it is also your Apple ID.". . . . . yes, I know that is my Apple ID. . . that;s the one I want to use.  If anyone can tell me how to get rid of the old Apple ID/email address I'd be very grateful.

I appreciate exactly where you're coming from.  I've been fighting a similar battle for some six months now and I've finally given up.  The problem is that, contrary to the semantics on the Apple ID management page, your up-to-date email address is not the primary address.  The ID name is the primary address and what's alleged to be primary is actually secondary.  I learned this the hard way when I was trying to fix an issue with a very old ID that did NOT have an email address as a name.  I changed to to reflect the (old) address and I made matters worse and I can't go back!
In my case, I have a whole slew of free apps on the old ID and maybe US$40 or US$50 worth of paid apps.  Little by little I'm deleting the free apps and obtaining them again with the current ID.  When I finish that, I'll probably bite the bullet and pay again for the other apps.
