Updating azureus fails [solved*]

I installed azureus but when I try to update it I get this error.
Version 1.7 of plugin 'azupdater' failed to install - /usr/share/azureus/plugins/azupdater/azupdater_1.7.zip (Permission denied)
I tried doing the makepkg both as a normal user (w/ fakeroot) and as root. I also tried pacman -A as root and using sudo... same results. Permissions are set to root:root for this directory and I tried changing it to root:users but that also didn't help.
I'm pretty much out of ideas..
On a related note, it seems that the restart Azureus button doesn't work.. it'll shut down but then fails to come back up.

(2) Stopped Windows Update Services, renamed SoftwareDistribution folder and started the window update services and rebooted.
(3) Ran MS FIXIT
(4) Ran System File checker Scan (sfc /scannow)
(5) Ran CHKDSK /F
(6) Installed "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" drivers from Lenovo site
(7) Ran Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB971033)
None of the above possible recommended solutions were able to fix the issue yet and now I am getting a message your Window is Not Genuine!

The Lenovo System Update installed the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver 8.9.2.1002" right before the Windows Upgrade got broken. So in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, I choose Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, on the Driver Tab, I choose the option "Roll Back Driver" and after rolling back the driver and restarting the OS, now Windows Update is working like a Champ!

My updates are failing. Adobe application manager may be damaged. I have downloaded and installed a new copy and the problem persists.   Please help.

I am trying to update Photoshop CS6 in order to read my camera's RAW files. It is a camera that is supported by Adobe Photoshop CS6. However, when I try to get the Adobe Application Manager to update the software, it fails to do so. (The spinning wheel tells me it is checking for updates and then quits, saying that "Update Failed - Updates could not be applied. Adobe Application Manager may be damaged. Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.")
I have tried to reinstall the Adobe Application Manager 8.0, which gives me the following error message "We've encountered the following issues. Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." However, when I go to the link provided to download the Adobe Support Advisor, this piece of software NO LONGER EXISTS. "

So, I have gone to the forums and took the recommended step to update my software manually - getting the update Photoshop_CS6_13_0_6upd-2.dmg. However, this update also fails stating that my Adobe Application Manager may be damages. Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager. Which puts me right back where I started.
I have also taken the step of completely reinstalling Photoshop CS6. This did not solve the problems outlined above.

if that fails, uninstall ps, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and reinstall. then use the manual updates.

HT1923 I have tried to remove and reinstall Itunes after they sent out the latest update. Fails to install. There is no way to go back to a previous version that works on windows 8.1

Apple's latest update to iTunes failed to install on my computer with Windows 8.1 64 bit. I have reinstalled in many times, removed Itunes via Control Pannel, etc. etc. No luck. Tried to go back to an older version, but all of the installs try to install the latest version. I suspect there is a problem with this update and vesion.

Solving MSVCR80 issue and Windows iTunes install issues.

Jeff I've been running into a similar issue like this but with 6.0.5. I had to re-install Premiere for a different reason, then right after the install attempted the update. Failed at that point. Then i downloaded it manually and tried installing but it still failed. It seems, according to the log, that It can't find a certain file, but i'm not sure. Any chance you could help? My latest log is below with errors in red. I posted in the Premiere forum, but no responses yet.

Colinwilcox81 do you consistently see the same error every time you try to apply the update? If so then please remove all installed Adobe applications and run the CC Cleaner tool. It is not an Adobe problem. You have a OS permissions problem. You can try to correct this by using Disk Utility to Repair Permissions. It is in the First Aid area of Disk Utility.

System Update keeps failing "Package did not download" and does not show all updates

I recently installed win8 64-bit on my X1 (1294-2PG) using a clean install formatting the hard drive. Now I want to use System Update to install right drivers. Two problems occur:
System Updates fails to show all the updates available for my PC in the website. Only 2-3 updates are shown.
System Updates repeatedly fails to download the chosen updates. It seems to download most of the file when the download suddenly halts and I get the message: "1 Package did not download" or 2 or 3 depending on the number of updates.
I have tried for several days multiple times a day and even uninstalling/reinstalling System Update. The errors keeps occurring.

Getting "We could not complete your update. Failed to verify the preflight file..."

getting "We could not complete your update. Failed to verify the preflight file. It is not signed by Apple." message when trying to update Apps via the App Store. Get similar message for download of a free app. Console message is:10/23/13 2:00:27.610 PM storeagent[310]: *** Assertion failure in -[ISCheckPreflightOperation verifyDistributionAtURL:allowsDevSign:allowsUnsigned:osVersionToBeInstalled:err or:distributionController:], /SourceCache/Pisa/Pisa-232/ISCheckPreflightOperation.m:314

Similar threads solve this problem by either creating a new administrator identity, which allows one to update applications, or changing the keychain prefs to Best attempt. My issue was solved by adding a new admin user, and then updating the apps from the App store using the new identity. Under my orginal user identity the keychain app would crash when I attempted to open Prefs. After creating a new identity and updating the applications (iPhoto, etc) I found I was able to open the keychain Prefs logged into my orginal identity.

OS X 10.8.4 Update Install Fail

My Apple Mac Pro was working fine. Then Apple kept harrassing me through their on screen messages that I had to update the OS X to 10.8.4 via the crappy app store. I did as they said and now the computer has been down for the past two days saying that the update install failed and I have to re-install the OS. When I try to do this it fails as well. Now how could Apple break a perfectly good computer and set my business back two days and how can I fix it?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Have you tried booting into the Safe Mode? Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

With help from Oracle support I was able to solve this error. The workaround is to populate Saved Results Set tab and QLI-Cache tabs completely.
In our system we are not using any functionality associated with these tabs. Since Oracle suggested I had to do it !!!
After populating these tabs the error didn't occur.

N8 SW Update Refreshing failed

My phone is N8 (Grey, Anna).
While refreshing SW Update list, it got "SW Update Refreshing failed" error.
