UPDATING BUG WITH OS 10.5.4

Question

Updating the Suites has become a big mess. I wasted more than a whole day with Adobe and Apple escalated tech support.
It is a known problem at Apple, at least, and by now, also must be known to Adobe.
There is a bug in the updating of Illustrator and Version Cue, and possibly other parts of the Suites, that cannot be fixed at the moment. Either Adobe or Apple will have to address it, according to Apple Escalated tech Support. At the moment, it remains to be seen (found out) if the problem lies with Adobe or with Apple.
What happens is that installation of the original Suite from discs goes well. But the updates stop at some point past middle, usually with messages that an application (usually not specified) cannot accept the updator and should be reinstalled and tried again. Those applications are, on my Intel Mac at least, Illustrator and Version Cue. There is no solution with OS 10.5.4.
In my case, which seems usual, version Cue was, in fact, updated and was a wrong message. But Illustrator cannot be updated. Period!
Also, to begin with, before any new re-installing or re-updating, my PS and Bridge Help files could suddenly no longer be accessed, after updating Leopard to 10.5.4. Probably no Suite Applications' help files could be accessed. That is what started this off with me, and Apple had had a similar case, just before I called, as well as the updating problem.
The truly messy, horrendous fix for this, recommended by Apple as the only solution for those who need Illustrator, is to:
1) reinstall the whole original, not updated Leopard (OS 10.5) from the original disc, doing an archive and install.
2) Then install the Suite, followed be doing all Adobe updates, bringing all Suite aps to their current status.
3) Then, and onll then, update your OS Leopard, probably only to version 10.5.3, which seems to have been okay. But you can update leopard to 10.5.4 if you want, but you may get the Help menu problem. Safest is to update Leopard only to 10.5.3 for now.
The escalated technician at Apple thought that soon there would be updates from either Apple or Adobe, or both, that will address this issue.

So, there is another problem with something else???
For me, it is no problem, now that I know it is only Illustrator in my mess: That is because I never use Illustrator. I was just updating because i got the general Suite message to do so. However, someone around here may want to use Illustrator or show me something in it.
But if you use Illustrator, you seem to be cooked, if server stuff won't work right with 10.5.3.
This is the kind of stuff i really resent.
Sorry for the bad news.
The technician did say it was my choice how far I would update Leopard after updating Illustrator. The problem is that, with 10.5.4, one risks the loss of the Help menus, unless something else other than the 10.5.4 update caused that failure in my computer.
