Do you really mean this error happens during download, or does the download complete and the error arise during installation? Where are you downloading ACR 6.7 from?
    Cheers,

  • I can't figure out how to update camera raw. Elements won't read my ARW. files.

Help? haha Elements won't read my ARW. files. It says to update camera raw but I don't know how.

What camera model do you have?  What version of Elements are you using (Help / About Photoshop Elements) and what version of Camera Raw are you using in Elements, now (Help / About Plug-in / Camera Raw)?
These questions are relevant because each camera model must be supported individually and Adobe only adds support to currently available products.

  • Updating Camera Raw for Elements 8 on Mac

    Hello everyone,
I'm having a serious issue when I tried to update the Camera Raw plugin for Elements 8 on Mac. I downloaded the proper update (ElementsCameraRaw-6.3-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg, the one specified for Elements 8). Inside I found an application (AdobePatchInstaller) but when I run it, it says it needs Adobe Application Manager. I downloaded Adobe Application Manager 1.5 for Mac and installed it, but when I tried again to install the Camera Raw update it said the update is not applicable. I think maybe the Application Manager version isn't good (it says CS5, but I didn't find one for Elements).
    Could anyone help ... ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Rave,
Below is the list of steps from the Adobe KB article for installing the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in 6.2 on PSE 8:
Link to the KB article: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/863/cpsid_86312.html#main_Install Camera Raw 6.1 for Photoshop Elements 8 on Mac OS
Install Camera Raw 6.2 plug-in for Photoshop Elements 8 on Mac OS
Close Photoshop Elements 8 and Bridge CS5.
Download Camera Raw_6_2.dmg from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4809. Opening the downloaded file mounts the disc image containing the following two files:  Camera Raw.plug-in and cameraprofiles.mpkg.
Put the new version of the Camera Raw.8bi file that was downloaded into the same location as the original version.
Navigate to the root of the local disk (not your home folder).
Navigate to the following location: Applications/PSE8/Plug-Ins/File Formats.
Move the original plug-in from the location listed in step 5 to a backup location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensure that you keep this version in case you want to revert.
Copy the downloaded copy of the Camera Raw plug-in into the installation location listed under step 6.
Launch Photoshop Elements 8 or Adobe Bridge CS5.
To install Camera Profiles, double-click CameraProfiles.mpkg and then follow the on-screen instructions

  • Camera Raw for Elements 7 enabling use of Nikon D7000

I use Elements 7 with Camera Raw 4.5 I now wish to edit RAW
images from a Nikon D7000. How do I go about obtaining the r
elevant Camera Raw download for use with Elements 7 which will enable me to view and process
    Nikon D7000 RAW images?

The last version of Adobe Camera RAW that PSE7 will work with is ACR 5.6, and that does not support the newer D7000.
Either buy PSE9, or download the latest DNG Converter 6.3 and convert your NEFs to DNGs and open those with the older ACR.
You can get the downloads for both ACR 5.6 and the DNG Convert 6.3 by going to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and using the dropdown at the top to find Camera RAW for your computer type.  If you update Camera RAW then be sure to use the PSE-specific instructions on the page or in the readme.  The DNG Converter is a standalone program that operates on an entire folder of RAWs at a time.

  • Adobe Camera Raw in Elements 11

I'm using Windows 8.1. In Elements 11 I updated Camera Raw, but although it has confirmed the update, I cannot find it in Elements. Help please

    Hi,
To find out which version of Camera Raw that you have, load the editor and go to Help -> About plug-in ->  Camera Raw.
To edit raw files, just open them in the editor - Camera Raw will automatically load first. Make your adjustments in Camera Raw and then click on Open Image to load the image into the normal editor.
To edit a JPG with Camera Raw, open the editor, use Open As to select the image and change the Open As format to Camera Raw. Then you proceed as above.
If you are having problems reading raw files, please tell us which camera they come from.
    Hope that helps.
    Brian

  • CS5 won't open NEF files from D600, despite updating camera raw plug in.  How do I fix this?

CS5 won't open NEF files from D600, despite updating camera raw plug in.  How do I fix this?

The D600 was first supported in Camera Raw 7.3 which is only compatible with CS6 and later - not CS5 unfortunately.

    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
    Some options:
    FREE
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all D600 Raw files to DNGs then open the DNGs in CS5

    PAID
    Upgrade to CS6
    Buy Lightroom 5.4
    Buy Photoshop Elements 12

  • Camera Raw in Elements 9.03

I wnat to edit photos from my Sony rX100 in camera raw using elements 9.03. I've updated to camera raw 6.5 which seems to be the latest update for Elements 9. the RX100 isnt supported until camera raw 7.2. is there any plug-in I can install to allow me to do this edit or do I need to buy a later version of elements?
    Thanks,
    Rich

Hi Rich, for your camera you need PSE11 or PSE12 (the current version). Alternatively, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.4
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.4
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Why can't I update Camera Raw 6.6 through Help menu?

I have a Photoshop Element 10 Editor (the one bought from App Store), and now I try to update Camera Raw to 6.6.  After reading through Adobe's website, they suggest to update it from help menu but problem is I couldn't find the update in my help menu.  What did I do wrong?  So I then downloaded the Camera Raw 6.6 from Adobe Website trying to manually install it, and now I got a message "Update is not applicable".  What does this mean now?  Any advice please...
Also, I contacted Adobe via Live Chat, and then I got supporter who asked me for only serial number otherwise there is no help.  I then told him, App Store did not provide one but seems he doesn't have a clue what is App Store and insisted me to contact the store directly to ask for a serial number.   ???  I tried to explain him that the App Store is the store where you downloading software online through Apple's computer, and he seems still not understand what App Store is and concluded me if I have any other question I would like to ask?  Great.. so I asked him where he is residing and he replied "India".  Well.. I don't know how the support live chat go through India, but I want a support from someone who know what "App Store" is.  His name is Vasu, seems to be a gentle man but.....

You can't update it because you have the app store version. Apple doesn't allow apps sold via the app store to update any way except via the app store, and adobe evidently doesn't think it's worth creating a whole new version every time there's a raw update. You can do it manually, although it's quite a pain. Directions are in this thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4106312#4106312
EDIT Incidentally, although I doubt it will help with tech support (they often seem to be missing all PSE pages from their script books), for the app store version your serial number is your apple ID, at least when it comes to qualifying for upgrade pricing and things like that.

  • Camera raw and elements 11

I can't get the latest version of camera raw into elements 11. Please help! It doesn't show up as an update, and the downloaded version says it's incompatible. Version 7.1.0.354 came with my load of Elements. It seems that the latest version is 7.4 (or 8.2, depending on where you look).
    This shouldn't be so difficult.

Yes, "updates" is not an available selection. So I used the applications manager, and it tells me I am up to date. But that can't be the case.

  • Can't update Camera Raw 8.3

Just bought Elements 12 and it wouldn't import my RAW files from my Olympus OM-D E-M1 camera. I assumed that's a result of Camera Raw not being updated to the latest revision so I checked to see if there was an update available and sure enough, there was. That's where the good news ended. I can't run the update until I quit both Elements Organizer and Elements Auto Analyzer. Quiting Organizer is easy but there doesn't appear to be a way to quit Elements Auto Analyzer on the Mac. As a result, I can't run the update and can't import the RAW files. This is an example of poor programing on so many levels it's embarassing. At the moment, I have a totally useless piece of software.
I'd love to have a shortcut to work around the problem but Adobe really needs to clean up their act here.

    Consider
Trying to update it with the full Photoshop version can be done, but this will prevent future automatic updates from working.
I would question that generalization. Specifically,
    a. If you had Premiere Elements 12, updated Camera Raw from 8.2 to 8.3 manually using the files pointed to, if and when there is a Camera Raw 8.4, I do not see any problem updating Help Menu/Update or manually for that 8.3 to a projected 8.4.
In the case relating specifically to this thread, Premiere Elements 12, I see no reason why a manual install of 8.3 will prevent future updates of that Camera Raw version if there are more released that are compatible with 12.
    b. However, if I had version 11 which probably did not support Camera Raw beyond Camera Raw 7.4 and did a manual install of 8.2 (which I know can be done), I would not expect to use Help Menu/Update to update that "8.2" to "8.3".
And updating manually with "full Photoshop version" here will get you the same Camera Raw 8.3 with all its "Elements" disabled features just as always when comparing to Help Menu/Updates  by the book.
I base the above on my personal experience with version 11, where I manually installed Camera Raw 8.2 and obtained the results cited.

  • Camera Raw for Elements 6.0 - how do I purchase plug in?

I am trying to use Camera Raw with Elements 6.0.  Does this come with Elements and I just can't find it, or do I need to buy a separate plug in? The updates on Adobe say that it doest not recognize my file type.
    Thank you!

Your best bet is to use the free version of DNG converter and watch this video to learn how to use it:

Thanks so much.  I thought it might have been 6.2, but wanted to be sure.  The list is very helpful, too.

Camera raw 6.2 Here's a list: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applic ations.html  If you need to open files from a newer camera you could use the 7.1 DNG Converter to convert the files to dng copies which will open in pse 8.
