Updating dialog instance after upgrade to EHP5.

Hi,
We have finished the upgrade of our ERP 6.0 system from EHP3 to EHP5 on the central instance. Our systems are on HP-UX 11.31 / Oracle 11.2.0.2
THe guide mentions that for application servers we need to re-install the dialog instance with same SID and instance number.
This seems highly unnecessary for Unix.
We also referred the forum [http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1908515] which seems to be saying we dont need to update or re-install.
Secondly, we had anyways started the updation of dialog install. The new dialog install is stuck since it asks for RDBMS Client DVD.
We have to provide the 11.2 client DVD but the sapinst tool keeps asking for 10G client DVD.
This leads to DB connectivity problem since we alrady tried giving the 10G client DVD for 10.2.0.5 and it fails at the last phase.
Please suggest in case there is any clarity.

Hi,
You are correct. It is asking for a 10G client DVD. TH SAPinst will go ahead too but it fails ahead in the installation. The error is pasted below. Quite clearly the DB doesnt connect due to 11g client requiremnts although the software is taking only 10g client DVD.

Are you sure you have a proper Internet connection? Make sure your iPod is connected to your computer, and you have an Internet connection.
Don't even get me started on the iPod Touch 5G, I actually own an iPod Touch 4G, and I've considered a lot about if I should get the new one. At first look, you might be sold by the features Apple has on their iPod Touch page. It has a taller screen that's a 4-inch Retina Display, has a much better camera with a flash, and comes with iOS 6 preinstalled with Siri. But the real breakthrough comes with the new connector. It's called Lighting, and it's much smaller. But if you have a dock connector that comes with some cars, and maybe a set of speakers or docking stations as alarm clocks, I encourage you not to get the new one. The usage of your old connectors requires a $30 adapter, which is a ridiculous price. And who knows how secure the adapters will be with your docking stations? I personally think Apple has crossed the line. If they are to put a new connector with their new products, they should ship with an adapter in the box, at least at first. This is why I strongly encourage you NOT to get the new 5th generation iPod Touch.
Sorry if I went a little off-topic there, but I wanted to get my point across. For your updating to iOS 6, I reccommend you check out other discussions in the support comunity, and see what other contributors have to say. Or go on Google and search your error messages, possibly someone might've already went through the same problem as you did. I really hope this helped!

Restart dialog instances after activating web dynpro abap services (SICF)

Has anyone encountered a problem where you have to restart the ABAP dialog instances after activating a web dynpro abap service in SICF?
We're implementing some of the HR Admin, ESS, and MSS ABAP Web Dynpro applications. What is happening is that when we access these web dynpro abap applications the browser would go into an infinite loop. This happens only when we have an abap central instance and one or more abap dialog instances. It doesn't happen when we have just an abap central instance. The way we fixed it is by restarting just the dialog instances (the central instance was left running), but this isn't an acceptable solution for the production environment. Is there something else we have to do after activating the web dynpro abap service in SICF? We tried clearing the cache, but that doesn't work.
The landscape where this is happening is as follows:
1. SAP Portal is being used to present the ABAP web dynpro app. Portal is NW 7.0 SP15
2. There is a web dispatcher for both the SAP Portal
3. There is a web dispatcher for the ECC ABAP system. ECC ABAP system is on NW Basis 7.0 SP14.

Problem in updating Dialog instance kernel

Dear all,
I've a ECC 5 central instance runs on a sparc solaris machine, kernel version 175. The DB is oracle.
I tried to install a dialog instance on a win2k3 machine.
The installation was success, and the Dialog Instance can ran well. The kernel version of the DI is 43, so i want to update the kernel to version 175.
But when i tried to upgrade the kernel of the DI, it cannot start.
The error messsage is:

There are two reasons that cause this kind of issue:
1. An attempt is made to start two instances with the same operating
 system but a different kernel patch.
2. Kernels are exchanged on one or several instances with an operating
 system that differs from the one of the central instance without
 restarting the central instance.
In your case, it might be the second one. I write down the solutions
for both cases anyway:
for 1. Upgrade the kernel to the same patch level on all R/3 system
 instances with the same operating system.
for 2. The following alternatives are available:
 a) Restart the system to have the message server determine the new
 patch level automatically.
 b) Enter the new patch number in the message server status area
 which previously contained the old patch level:
 - Transaction SMLG
 - Goto -> System Diagnosis -> Message server status area
 - Enter new patch level.
This should solve the issue.

Cannot update my iPhoto after upgrading to Yosemite

27" iMac, 2.93 GHz i7 processor, Yosemite 10.10. Can no longer use iPhoto after upgrading. I get a message that this update is not available for this Apple ID because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. How do I fix this?

You must be logged in using the Apple ID used to purchase iPhoto or to set up your Mac - If you are logged in with the Apple ID that was used to purchase iPhoto or to set up the computer if it came preinstalled then quit iPhoto, backup your iPhoto library and drag the iphoto application to the trash (do not empty the trash yet) and then go to the App store and install iPhoto
If this does not allow you to upgrade then you need to contact App store support - link i son the right of the app store window

IPod no longer updates smart playlists after upgrade to 1.3

After upgrading my 5th Gen 30GB iPod to 1.3 I noticed immediately that the smart playlists on my iPod aren't updating any longer. Until 3 days ago my iPod had firmware version 1.2.1 and all smart playlists worked as expected.
I have many smart playlists that I have been happily using everyday for the past 2 years to play only new podcasts, shuffle my favorite tunes based on when they have been played last, and move songs in and out of My Top rated tunes based on their ratings. These no longer work on my iPod, but when I sync with iTunes they update fine. I didn't make any changes to my smart playlists before or immediately after upgrading, at least until I noticed the problem.
For the last couple of days since upgrading I have tried deleting all my smart playlists and recreating them, that didn't help. I have also tried restoring my iPod, which also didn't help. I have also tried creating a very basic smart playlist i.e.
Match all of the following rules - checked
Rating is ***
Live updating - checked
Sync'd that to my iPod and started playing a tune and changed it's rating to 5 stars. I then entered a static playlist, played a song from that and when it was done entered the new 5 star rating smart playlist and it wasn't updated.
I'm don't know what else to try, I've repeated the same test as above on my wife's 2nd Gen nano and it worked as expected. Has anyone else noticed smart playlists failing to update since the upgrade? I have searched here and on google, but only found reference to much older firmwares.

I'm having the same problem, once I've listened to a song in my 0 plays list, go out to a new menu, then back in, all the songs that have been played are still there, when a few weeks ago they were taken off and only unplayed songs were still there. Now if I switch to another playlist and back, I have to scroll all the way back to the point I was when I changed which didn't happen earlier.

Can't update iTunes Match after upgrading to 11.1.5

Is anyone else (in Australia) having problems with iTunes Match after upgrading to iTunes 11.1.5 on Mac? I’ve found that whenever I play a track (i.e. update the play count), set a rating or edit a playlist, all my cloud songs become greyed out, the updates are not synced to the cloud (don’t appear on other devices), the iTunes Cloud music icon gets a lightning bolt through it (lost connect), and then my changes are lost. I can reconnect as many times as I like (by clicking on the cloud icon or restarting iTunes) and for a while everything ‘looks’ fine (can download and play songs) but actually nothing is saved to the cloud and the lightning bolt appears again when I make any of the above updates. I have another computer that still has 11.1.4 and iTunes Match is working fine on it.

Thanks Michael, I’d already tried both those (including applying the latest OS X security update and restarting). I kept trying to use iTunes Match every hour, and eventually it started working on my 11.1.5 computer and has staying working for the rest of the day. 11.1.4 was working the whole time.

Problems with Java dialog instance after System Copy

Hi Folks,
I've performed a System Copy from PRD to QAS both ABAP and JAVA Stack (Netweaver 2004s SEM-BW). The ABAP is up and running and the central instance JAVA too. But there was two applications (dialog instances JAVA) that desappeared after the HSC. I can't see them in Visual Administrator and can' t start them as well.
Will you give a hand on it? I know this is a pretty weird situation but if somebody experienced this please help me. As far as I know I've double-check the procedure used for this System Copy and everything has been followed.

Yes, this sap note is very useful, but there is no reference to Java Dialog Instance, which in this case SAP said that we need to re-install all Dialog instance, in my case I have two Appl Servers which has Java Dialog Instance installed so I have to re-install twice.

Strange issue in updating custom table after upgrade ECC6.0! Please help!

 I have some code (shown below) that deletes and updates some SAP tables and one custom table:
 DELETE T5UBV FROM TABLE DEL_T5UBV.
DELETE ZCHRZIP FROM TABLE DEL_ZCHRZIP.
MODIFY ZCHRZIP FROM TABLE WRITE_ZCHRZIP.
MODIFY T5UBV FROM TABLE WRITE_T5UBV.
COMMIT WORK.
For SAP table the code above works fine but for custom table it overrides all exisiting data! It should keep some existing data in custom table ZCHRZIP and append any extra data from internal table WRITE_ZCHRZIP. This functions as designed if I run in fore ground but in background it just overrides instead of modifying and appending! This is happening only after upgrade ECC6.0. Any thoughts? Please let me know.

Reschedule does not update schedule line after upgrade

Dear All,
After upgrade to ECC6.0, the reschedule does not update EKET any more but it update ekpo as usual.I debugged it , before the function module SD_BACKORDER_**_SAVE everything is ok.
I also checked the sap note for the new field in T161V.But When I choose other option about customzing. eket are updated every time when the reschdule program run.This will lead double delivery.
Do you have any suggestion？

No, the problems are still here... I've been able to update some apps using the PC itunes (connecting the app to it), but all the other apps are still "wating", and I have two new strange things:
* I cannnot remove the apps that are downloading (at least those that are supposed to be downolading ) . But I could remove one from the PC... and now there is an "empty line" in the "to update apps list".
* Stranger: though I cannot download new apps or music from the store, I can do in-app purchases!!! In that case, I'm asked for the password and the item downloads. How is it possible?????

Storage not updating to 100GB after upgrading to team membership...

I've upgraded to the team membership from an individual membership but CC is not showing the increase in storage. It does show under my administration page that the storage is there but the app itself and web storage aren't updating. Do I need to do something to do so or will it just take time to switch over?

Failed to update superseded software after upgrade to R2

Hi,
After I upgrade to R2, I'm having problems with updating superseded software(worked OK before in SP1).
Software Centre starts downloading the content from DP then errors out.
The error message is this:
Had a look in the CCMcache. The newer version didn't get downloaded. Although during the downloading phase I can see temp folder got created and files were downloading into it, but all that got removed later.Also this is not a space issue since I have
40G of cache space.
Installing the software without supersedence seems to be OK.
Anyone having the similar issue?

I can't update my iPhoto after upgrading to Maverick

I just upgraded to Mavericks and ever since, my iPhoto (v. 9.2) will not work. It has a grey circle with a line through it over the application. I do see in my app store I have an update for iPhoto 11, but when I try to upgrade it and enter my apple ID, I get this error message. I only have this one apple ID and password, so I have no idea why it is saying this. I am so scared I've lost my photos!!!
Error message reads:

This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
I do not understand this or what to do. I have not ever tried to purchase this previously.
