Updating Evaluation License for WLCS 3.5

Hi,
I am still evaluating WLCS 3.5 and would like to obtain a new evaluation
license (my existing one ran out today). According to the docs this should
just involve downloading another license and running UpdateLicense.cmd from
the BEA_HOME directory where both the new and old license files reside.
However, doing this has not had any noticeable effect (ie I can't start the
server). The license.bea file still has today as the expiration date. Also
do I need to upgrade my WLS6.0 license separately as well? A quick response
would be appreciated.

Incidently, I can start the underlying WLS6.0 ok - I thought they used the
same license file? The error I get when attempting to start WLCS is as
follows:

ISE License for WLC

Hello Experts
i have ISE with advanced license for 1500 user , and i have WLC 2504 , and i need to integrate the WLC with the ISE to get ISE features for the Wireless users like posturing , remediation and the authentication as well .
my question : is the advanced license is enough , or shall i install the Wireless License to the ISE to have the integration...
your feedback and inputs appreciated....

Here is some information regarding the different types of licenses -

Essentially a wireless license is much like the base license if your deployment is 100 percent wireless, the wireless upgrade is the equivalent to the advanced license once again for only a wireless deployment.
Base and Advanced covers all (wired, wireless, vpn..etc). there are no restrictions to the deployment model.

          copy of WebLogic 6.0 ? I have a simple stateful session bean with <replication-type>InMemory</replication-type>
          set in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml. But when I try to generate a deployable jar file, I

Make sure the license is in ejbc's classpath.
          We fixed this for SP1 to make it so ejbc will always compile regardless
          of your license. The actual license check occurs when you deploy the
          bean.

Evaluation License for WL 4.5.1

Hi to all,
I received an evaluation CD of WL 4.5.1 with german Java Mag "Java
Spectrum" on Februaruy 2000.
Yesterday, I installed the server on my Linux box. The software required
me to install a license key
from http://www.beasys.com/eval/wls45emea, however the page was invalid.
Question: is it still possible to get an evaluation license key for WL
4.5.1?
Note: I know, license keys are included in the versions that can be
downloaded online,
but since I'm hanging on a dial-up connection, I can not download 30-40
Megs.

Making evaluation license for java application

I have made a product and I want to make demo copies for it. I'm not concerned with decompilation issues. All I want to do is that the application should cease to function after 100 usages or 1 month whichever is earlier.
How do I go about coding this functionality. I have seen similar things in java products but I'm not sure how this is achieved.
Please help me!

The first time the application is started, have it create a file in some directory (best practice=same directory as application). Anyway, this file can contain a date the app was first started. Each time the app is run - the file gets an update - the number of times the app has started, increase by 1 each time. Also you can make a check to see if the current date is older by 100 days.
Note: A person can always change the system clock to say it's 1900 so they never have to expire the 100 days, but they would need to figure out which file has the date/runs data in it in order to fool the application completely.
I have actually used this model and found that, along with the programming side, a simple but firm software license with some legal jargon works well.

SQL Evaluation License

We have purchased two Discovery Systems servers, and one permanent liscense of SQL Enterprise edition. Is it possible to transfer the SQL evalutation license from one server to the other server, and use the evaluation licenses for a total of 360 days?

WLC 5508 Evaluation License Expiry

Hi,
I have a customer who wants to do some WLC migration works. They have a spare 5508 (50 License) that they want to use to house their 100+ APs during the migration works as they are temporarily decommissioning the active 5508s. They have asked me whether they can get an extension to the evaluation license (I suggested the eval license may be the best option to get through this with minimal hassle) as they feel 60 days might not be long enough!
Thinking about it I read this in the WLC config guide regarding eval licenses:
"To prevent disruptions in operation, the controller does not switch licenses when an evaluation license expires. You must reboot the controller in order to return to a permanent license. Following a reboot, the controller defaults to the same feature set level as the expired evaluation license. If no permanent license at the same feature set level is installed, the controller uses a permanent license at another level or an unexpired evaluation license."
This suggests that the license will just continue to be active until a reboot? Is that correct, has anybody seen this in action. I have seen this sort of thing before with IOS-XE code where a feature is enabled as evaluation, and once it expires it doesn't stop the feature working, just sends loads of snmp traps complaining about not having the correct license level.
I would be interested if anyone knows what really happens once the eval expires and if the eval license count will remain active until WLC reboot.

Hi,
I have found another option for this unorthodox scenario. I just as an idea went to see if I could get a demo license for a 5508 I have in our lab (which currently has default eval license on it) from Cisco's license portal. Surprisingly it issued me a eval license, I installed it successfully onto the 5508! I now have 2x eval licenses, so in theory this will work for my customer as he can use this again for another 60 days!
I then thought I'd try again and see how far I can push it :) I then got a message saying:
We are unable to provide you with a license at this time.
You cannot obtain multiple trial licenses for the same UDI.
Ok, that makes sense, but I was able to add another eval on-top of the factory sent one.
What I will do is invoke it and see how it goes, and also I will then get to see what happens after 60 days.
Thoughts welcome.

10.8.2 update: can't install "error occurred while evaluating Javascript for the package"

Greetings All-
I'm trying to update from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 on my Macbook Air. When I downloaded the .dmg from Apple and ran it, I got the following error:
"OS X Update Can't be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package."
So far, I've done the following, all to no avail:
(1) Updated Java to v7 per Java's website, no change
(2) Downloaded the 10.8.2 combo update, no change
(3) Found Apple's OS X Java update (which is still at v6)- get an error at install that "the contents of the disk can't be changed"
(4) Restarted at each step
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

on the installler DVD, you should find README or INSTALL file. You could get from there about the link to extend your eval key.

Just updated my mac from Tiger to Mountain Lion. Loaded Photoshop elements 11 (brand new in the box) and when I try to start it - it comes up saying - Licensing for the product has stopped working contact for help.

I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation. Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.

Can't update payment information for CC license

We've been trying to update our payment information for our CC license for the past several weeks. Never works. Now our license appears to have been suspended. Please advise.

My office received a phone message from an Adobe representative yesterday that the issue with updating my account had been resolved, and that my creative cloud license should once again be active. However, all attempts to access my software still return the same repeating sequence of messages: (1) Renew your subscription: Try Again; (2) Thank You, your subscription is now active. Click continue; (3) Renew your subsciption; Try Again . . .
As usual, the software still fails to launch. Moreover, my account info indicates that the new payment information has still NOT been captured. In short, the license remains inactive, and I'm left with confusing misinformation from the service representative who contacted us yesterday.
As a longtime, loyal and enthusiastic user of Adobe products, I find it extraordinarily disappointing that this has been going on for over a month without satisfactory resolution. Now that my Creative Cloud license has been rendered inactive for the majority of a week, I am at a full work stoppage. We now have more than six major projects in default. While my immediate concerns focus on my organization's reputation, my department's productivity, and my own credibility as a communications professional, the issue is of course much larger for Adobe as well as myself. I cannot begin to express how poorly this reflects on Adobe. Without a rapid and satisfactory resolution to this issue, it is increasingly likely that my organization will be obliged to move to alternative products for our communications needs. I do not relish the thought of moving away from a suite of products that has served us well for many years. Needless to say, such an outcome will almost certainly inform any recommendations we make to our professional associates with similar communications needs.
Let me be clear, I am tolerant of the fact that the recent cyber-attack on Adobe has created technical problems. However, it also seems to me that the lack of meaningful customer service and technical assistance is only making a bad situation even worse.
