Updating existing webpage

I have loaded my webpage, and want to make some changes. I
have made the changes in my local folder, then selected from the
Site menu - Synchronize. I synchronize the whole site and put newer
files onto server and It appears to go through all the steps.
However, when I check the site online, some updates are successful
and others are not. I will be making changes regularly to this
site. What else should I do? I am so new at this, any help is
appreciated!

When ever you makes changes to a page just use
crtl shift U
this is upload the page and if you choose upload dependent
files it will also take care of anyfile that need to be uploaded to
make it work.

Hi,
First upload the file into an internal table. If you are using a file that is on application server. Use open dataset and close dataset.
Then :
Loop at it.
*insert or modify as per your requirement.

"Quicktime Buffer Overrun Detected" When Updating Existing Software

So the subject line basically says it all. Quicktime runs fine until I pull down the "help" menu and select "Update Existing Software" which immediately gives me a C++ error "Quicktime Buffer Overrun Detected." I've tried repairing Quicktime and it does the same thing still. I'm running v.1.3.7 and Windows XP.
An interesting side note: When Quicktime is running my desktop flashes as though windows is refreshing it. Any idea what that's about?

How to only update existing records when loading master data ?

Hello experts, I need your lights one more time.
Here is my need :
I have created an infoobject (IO) which is a very simple version of 0material, let's call it Znewmat --> Znewmat has material type and trademark as attributes, those two fields are available in 2 different datasources :
- 0MATERIAL_ATTR for material type (field MTART)
- 0MAT_SALES_ATTR for trademark (field MVGR2)
When loading my new IO from 0MATERIAL_ATTR I use a filter (at DTP level) to get only a few material types (I get something like 1000 records),
here is my issue : when I load from 0MAT_SALES_ATTR the field "material type" is not available to keep the same filter as for 0MATERIAL_ATTR and existing records are updated with the trademark, but I also get 5000 records I don't need, and my master data is "polluated" with useless lines.
*and my question : is there a way while performing the second loading to ONLY UPDATE EXISTING RECORDS AND NOT ADD ANY
NEW RECORDS ? (i didn't find anything in main options of my DTP)*
(I'd like to avoid the solution to update the 0MAT_SALES_ATTR datasource to add the missing field)

in the start routine of transformation from 0MAT_SALES_ATTR to znewmat do the following:
select materials from /BIC/PZNEWMAT into i_mat
for all entries in source_package where material eq source_package-material.
loop at source_package.
p_ind = sy-tabix.
read table i_mat with key material = source_package-material.
if sy-subrc ne 0.
delete i_mat index p_ind.
endif.
this way you'll only update records that have previously been loaded by 0MATERIAL_ATTR DS
loading sequence:
first load ZNEWMAT from 0MATERIAL_ATTR. then activate ZNEWMAT. then load 0MAT_SALES_ATTR to ZNEWMAT.

Availability Check Changed on the Material Master Update Existing Orders

I need to know if there is a way to update existing orders once changes have been made to the material. Currently the only way that I know of is to go into individual orders change the plant save then change it back to the original plant on the order then the changes take effect. How can I achieve this without touching every order individually. Is there something to mass update existing orders to take a new snapshot of the material master settings for a material.

Try with t.code VA05 - Open sales order list.
Execute this list. In the output, sort the data by plant. Then go to menu Edit -> mass change -> new plant. Change the plant for group of sales orders that have similar plants. Then again do the same thing to bring the previous plant in the sales orders.
This can help reduce the time instead of going one by one.

Error when executing an interface: Update Existing Errors

Hi Everybody,
It has been a while since I last wrote into the forum! And this time I am contacting you all, because I have gotten an error and I really do not know where the issue is right.
I am creating an interface, to pass data from one Oracle table to another.
I have created it, and executed the interface! So far so good, BUT then something happens!
I do get an error in a step called:
27 Integration - <MY_BEAUTIFUL_INTERFACE> - Update Existing Errors
I do recon that the error is on the update part, as it is not bringing anything on the set part! Should I modify something on my Interface! Yes I must, but really do not know what!!! I was thinking on playing with the execution modes, which I have already tried, but do not know quite well what to do next!

Trying to update existing apps; will only prompt me for an old iTunes account that does not exist any more

How do I get a prompt for my new account when updating existing apps? I had used one of my sons account for most of the apps on my iPhone. I have since move up to a iPhone 4S and created my own account to use iCloud. But everytime I try to update the exiting apps I am prompted for a password to my sons account. I am logged on to iCloud with my new account at the same time.
It looks like the apps retain some kind of tag to the original account used during download.
Any help would be appreciated.

Updating Existing Programmes- P6

I have a programme that needs to be updated on a monthly basis by importing 2 different programmes from 2 different contractors. Activity IDs all match, though every time I try to import the programmes the WBS seems to screw up. I've tried importing whilst not updating the WBS, but then I get no programme updates. I've tried with keep existing and update existing WBS, but these seem options muck up the WBS, but do provide the required updates. Is anyone doing anything similar that they can advise on what settings I can use to make this work?

there are quite a few different approaches considering different limitations such as:
- licensing (number of Beneficiary / General Contractor / Subcontractor users)
- hardware, networking, security, mobility, etc for decision between web vs. desktop client application
- project complexity, subcontractor scope, confidentiality issues related to project and global data permissions
depending on your particular project needs, you should consider your options:
- xer (or other transfer files) import/export vs. providing subcontractors with web and/or desktop client application access to a centralised database for planning and updating
- subcontractor users with limited or no global privileges, full or limited project data access, limited resource pool access (low-level node within RBS), linked to low level OBS (responsible for project or project WBS levels)
- use multiple projects within EPS vs. multiple WBS elements within project.
coming back to your problem (the difference in scope between subcontractor sub-project and master project):
- must you use xer's?
- if so, can you export the entire project to xer for subcontractors to update? is not confidentiality an issue?
- if so, is it feasable to break your project (program) into several projects within same EPS? import/export, update separately or
you can use "buffer" projects (one for each xer) for importing and validating the update data for the separate sub-projects (updated subcontractor projects).
proper projects or reflections can be used for that matter. recombining the sub-projects into the master project would still have to be done manually.

Add-on updates produce webpages that keep appearing when I start Firefox--how do I keep this from happening?

When the add-ons are updated, a webpage appears stating that the update was successful. In the past I would exit the tab and this notice would not appear again. However, these pages appear to be persisting when I close Firefox down and then reopen immediately and later. I have tried deleting all history and cookies, and resetting the home page multiple times, but none of these have done the trick. The version of Firefox I'm using is the latest version (7.0.1). I use Win 7 (64-bit).
History: this all started when my AddonFox add-on updated in September and notice web page saying it updated appeared. This has kept reappearing each time I enter Firefox. In addition since then, an update for the ReadItLater (v. 2.1.3), ColorfulTabs, and IE Tabs add-on updates have caused the same issue. As a result, whenever I enter Firefox, my homepage opens, as well as the notification pages that these four add-ons have updated.

Updating existing fields in ODS

Experts,
I would like to update existing fields in the ODS after doing some calculations if a new record that is being loaded meet a certain condition. In turn I would want to update the record being loaded with a value from the record in the ODS just updated. Can someone tell me a way without having to resort to writing a separate code in ABAP to do this in the transfer routines. Also if you could provide example code for such a routine.

Quicktime 7.4.1 crash when telling it to update existing software

The problem first appeared after installing Curious World Maps on this computer. World Maps installs Quicktime 7.1 as a way to utilize the file codecs that are included in quictime. In that program, I would render with the format quicktime and when I would try to define which Quicktime codec to use, the system would crash. At first I thought is was World maps so I reinstalled several times with the same results. I then unistalled Quick Time and reinstalled the same version Quicktime 7.1 with the same results. At this point I opened Quictime by itself. It will play animations fine but when I tell it to Update existing Software, it crashes. There is no number error. I've since uninstalled and installed 7.4.1 and have the same results. When going to Update existing software the Quicktime crashes.
A note about my system. it was shipped to me with Windows Vista but World Maps is not tested for Vista so I had to downgrade to Windows XP. I've run all updates for Windows XP and am fully up to date with the latest service pack.

Quicktime would crash when ever I selected update existing software too. I discovered that months ago and forgot about that error. I started doing a search again for a solution and found myself at a forum talking about this problem. The forum suggested going into Edit->Preferences->Quicktime Preferences->Advanced->and checking the bullet that says safe mode from Directx mode. They were discussing a possible problem with nvidia video cards. I tried that and it did not work for me. **But I then randomly gave this a try**. At the same place I increased my cache to half of max. and I check the box for Media Encoding to enable encoding using legacy codexs and hit apply. Miraculousy it fixed the update crashing for me. I didn't try to narrow down the one that fixed it but give this a try. Like I said this is a known problem and I forget what quicktime upgrade I first noticed this problem at. Now it checks for updates and says my software it up to date. No crashing and closing Quicktime.

Update existing object with parsers

Hi,
I'seen on the Developer guide of IFS that :
"Parsers cannot be used to update existing objects" (page 76 of the pdf file)
I've also seen on the same document that :
"The aplication can use postOperation() to access the repository object that was created or updated by the parser" (page 91 of the pdf file)
I'm sorry, I don't understand if updating objects in the repository is possible or not with parsers.

You have to remember that you are writing SQL building blocks, not code...
Also when you use @select(), yes that will only pull the contents of the Select box of that object.
To get the contents of the Where box, you need @Where().
These are separate because typically you are either building a select part (normal objects) OR a where part (filters).
So think out of the box and decide how you would write it in a sql statement if you did not have a universe,
then break it in pieces that make sense.
I'm not 100% sure of what it is you are trying to achieve, but you can do something like:
case @where(object2) when TRUE then @select(object2) end
Off course writing this in one go is just as valid, you don't have to reuse, only with big chunks or @prompt() stuff it makes sense to prevent typo's
