Updating Files on iPad -again?

When I sync my iPad, it always updates the music files on my iPad. I have the option checked to convert higher bit rate songs to a lower bit rate.
But, the sync process seems to redo this conversion every time I sync, for songs that are already on my iPad. It takes hours to get the songs converted and loaded again.
Is it really necessary for the sync process to redo this process each time I sync? Can't it simply recognize that most of the songs already exist on the iPad and skip over them?
Any solutions for this problem?

I haven't tried it yet but I'll give it a go this PM and see what happens. Hope that helps.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.

I Cannot manually update any files on my IPAD from ITUNES after upgrading to 10.5.1. Message just says preparing to update, but no files ever get moved onto the IPAD. Please help.

I found this out whilst playing with iTunes...
Go to Amazon or some other site to get the correct album artwork.
Right-click and "Save Image As", saving to desktop.
In iTunes Music Album, right-click on the album and slect "Get Info" from the drop-down.
On the rhs at the bottom is a square box that says "Artwork" (as you said above).
Right-click in the box, select 'paste' and then 'OK'.
Seems to work without having to select all the titles in the album first.

Update Files for iPhone /iPad

Where are the updated files of iOS saved in the Mac hard disk? Can't find anywhere. How to see hidden files in a MAC? When ever I want to update the iOS, I have to re download again if during the process I disconnected my iPhone/iPad from iTunes eventhough the files download have completed. I know the files are located somewhere based on hard disk space usage.

I created the new target using Xcode>Project>UpgradeCurrentTargetForIpad. This created another folder under .../Application Support/iPhone Simulator/4.2/Application/... with a different serial number. The new folder contains a new app, myApp-Upgraded, which corresponds to the bundle path it will use when this target is run.
I presume it's due to the file path existing in the original app, but not in the upgraded one. The file will be found when the original target is run, either on the device or the simulator, but not when the upgraded target is run on either, but I don't know how to make the upgraded target reference the correct resources.

You should be able to hit the "Agree" button, if you are on an iPhone right now. On a Mac, you should just left click the button where it said "Accept". I hope this helped.
To quit the app store, simply hit these keys:
Than, you should come up with this window:
Select the app store with:
a) The up and down arrow keys
b) Your cursor
Than hit the 'Enter' button twice. This should close the app store. The force quit window is also accesible through the apple logo in the top left corner of the screen. It should say:

If you downloaded the correct version for your iPad model (and the different models have different ipsw files), then you should be able to navigate to it in iTunes by pressing and holding the shift key on Windows (command key on Mac) when clicking the Check For Updates button.

Hi a full downlaod of the update file takes 8 hours from my corporate network, we have a downloaded 4.3.3 update ipsw file on the same pc as itunes. Can iTunes use that update file rathet than go to a server to again pull the update file to the pc?

If you've downloaded and saved the ipsw file then just press and hold the shift key when clicking on the Check For Updates button on device's Summary tab on your computer's iTunes, and you should be able to navigate to and use that ipsw file.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

HT201210 i am trying to update my ipad to ios 5.1 - the process stops when the update portion finishes, it says it is unable to connect to the update server - please try again later

I originally had the issue where it would not connect at all but got that fixed.
Now I am experiencing the issue when trying update the ipad ios to version 5
The process finished backing up the ipad then it says unable to connect to the backup server try again later
Any idea what I need to do now?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Seems like you tried this all ready and it didn't help.
Next might be to reset all settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings
Note that when you do this you will not lose data but you will have to enter all passwords again.
If that doesn't help you might tries a restore of your iPad using iTunes on the computer you normall sync with. Do a backup and save all data first. Or
Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Does iPad 2 keep IOS 7.1.1 update file after updating

I have a iPad 2 and it's running out of storage after the recent iOS update to 7.1.1. Before updating I was asked for 3 GB space, and was barely able to delete enough stuff to make that much space for the update. Now I only have 1.7GB available after updating. My question is does my iPad 2 keep downloaded update file in its storage? If so, how do I delete it to reclaim some storage space?

Even though the downloads are for the same iOS version number, they are different downloads and you can't use an iPod iOS update to update an iPhone or iPad etc. The iPad 1 and iPad 2 are also different downloads. So you will need to download different updates for your iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad 1 and the iPad 2.
