Updating Fireworks Drop Menu on Multiple DW pages cs5

Hi,
I have created a webpage that in the end has about 50 different pages and im at page 25 and realized that i didn't write the .html extension on one of my links in the fireworks drop down menu that I imported to my original webpage template.
Instead of switching out the drop down menu individually on 25 pages is there anyway to update the link on all of them at once?

Change the link in the Deamweaver template. That should update the pages sitewide.

How to update all spry menu tabs on all pages

Hi, Really need some help. I'm working in DW CS3. I've got a
working Spry menu. ( Eureka!). I quickly made a template to start
building pages. I left the spry bar as an uneditable region. My
question is I made a change to the Spry Menu on the homepage. I
changed one of the always visable tabs from Psychologist to
"Store", and I'm adding new tabs under "instruction" every day.
Problem is the already made pages are showing the original
"non-update" spry menu. Is there a way for me to have DW update the
spry bar on all pages, or is it because I made that uneditable it
won't do it and I have to change the template?

I am not using an external style sheet....
Why the heck not? It's so much simpler to maintain site wide styles with one style sheet instead of many.

As bregent says, CSS is not going to help you with HTML content. If your site is already built without the aid of Server-Side Includes or DW Templates, another option is Library Items.

Update Pop-up menu for multiple cells?

Is there a way to update all of the pop-up menu cells simultaneously without changing what any given cell has already selected?
I have a long list of items that includes a popup menu in one of the rows. The menu is the same for all of the items.
Here is the problem:
Periodically I have to update the pop-up menu. Every time I do this I have to manually update the pop-up menu cell for every item. As the list gets longer this takes more and more time.
Since each item has a different selection in this popup menu I can't simply drag the updated cell or copy and paste since this will then change the selection already made and then I have to manually change anyway i.e. instead of less work, it ends up being more.

I have wondered about this for a while. I was trying something tonight and it seemed to do what you need. I suggest you save your document before trying it.
Select one of your popups.
Copy Style
Select all the popups
Paste Style
With all selected, go to the Inspector and add another item to the list.
All popups should now have the new item. The selected values should not have changed. Copy/paste style is required to make this work.
Please let me know if this works for you. I've tried it a few times and it seems to do the trick.

Coupon auto numbering, multiple per page, CS5.5.

Help!!!
I'm using inDesign to create coupons for a fundraiser. There are 4 coupons per page and we need 300 coupons. I DO NOT want to number them manually! What is the easiest way to auto number the coupons automatically? I have used a master page to create the coupons, do I need to use the master to auto number? I have a Numbers document made with 1-300 ready to import if needed. I'm not very knowledgable with the program yet so clear detailed instructions would be super! Much appreciated!

You can do this with datamerge very easily, then. All you need is your numbers doucment (one number per line, with a header called numbers) saved as Tab Delimited text, or CSV.
Set up a doucument with just one coupon, select your numbers file as a data source, and place the number field on the coupon. Select a muliple item layout and adjust for four coupons per page. This will generate all your coupons with unique numbers.
Just make sure that there is nothing except your coupons on the page before you do the merge. Any other page elements will need to be added after.

Folio panel drop menu won't drop - can't update articles in folio

I am having trouble with the drop menu on the Folio Builder panel. In the past it has worked completely normally, but today it won't drop at all. Which means I can't update any files, or rename articles etc...
This started yesterday ... so I uninstalled Indesign and downloaded again. It worked. This morning I am trying to continue working on the project and the drop menu wont drop again.
I have reset Indesign preferences... and that still doesnt make the drop menu come back..
any ideas...

This is still a big problem and with the Single Edition licence ending soon, InDesign not functioning as it should be is quite stressful..
No one has answered this question. I have read through past threads and no one has answered others questions about this topic either...
When I try to update an article there is no menu available in the drop menu of the folio.
I have restarted Indesign several times.
I uninstalled and re-installed it again...
I have reset preferences over and ove,r and by the way the default black theme is horrible
It doesn't matter which document in which folio I try to update - the drop menu isn't available.
The documents have gone up to the cloud - I can see current documents there, so the files are synchronizing properly... It is the folio panel that is the culprit...
I am using build 10.2.0.69 of release 2014.2
Does anyone out there, in the world, anywhere, have any suggestions how to get the drop menu back into the folio?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Drop-Down Menu in a Component Page

I'm creating a website in GoLive, using a component page for the menu, which will appear on every page. There will be at least 50 pages. So when the menu needs editing, making changes to each page separately is not an option. Creating and customizing the menu in the component page is easy enough. I am using a found javascript to create drop-downs as well.
The problem I'm having is when using the menu as a GoLive component. When I edit the component, save and go back to the index page, the menu acts strangely and duplicates itself, putting an extra one at the bottom of the page. I don't know why it's doing this, and the problem is very frustrating. Is the component menu too complicated? Are there too many nested div's and GoLive is getting confused? I have done this successfully many times before, but never with javascript drop down's. Could that be causing my error?
Please let me know if you've had any similar problems. I really need help with this issue. Thanks!

Can you post a link to an example page where the menu is duplicated? Also, what version of GoLive are you using? The first thing that comes to mind is that the ID that the script relies on is being changed by GoLive to make it unique for each Component... why that results in it being duplicated I don't know yet, unless the script doesn't find what it's looking for, and then generates it automatically.

Fireworks drop down menu problem in explorer 7 help

I created a fireworks drop down menu for my website which
usually shows the 'up' label, in this case January, February etc
once activated, but now this only shows when the mouse moves over
it and then the 'down' state shows correctly. Has anyone
experienced this problem and if so can you offer a solution? The
drop down is at

when I attempt to use these programs, and I choose a drop down menu from the top title bar, a lot of the options on the menus are in gray, and they do not work. Does this mean the only give you the preview of the program?
No Debbie you have the full version. However, if these options and commands are not available (are gray) then it means that the objects the operate on are not selected. So, in iPhoto for instance, under the File menu, I cannot ‘Edit a Smart Album’ unless I have selected a Smart Album first. I cannot create an Event unless I have selected a photo to make that Event with, and so on.

Create an easy update menu linked to other pages?

I've been googling like mad trying to find out how to do this. I need to have a separate HTML file with the rest of my site that has the Menu on it that I use twice on every page of my site. Each time I update the menu, I have to copy and paste it twice onto each page of my site This is very tiresome.
I have tried the

code before, but it does not display the menu on the page at all. My whole site is written in only html. Is there some way to update one base menu and have the copies of it update all at once without using templates? As I have seen written in other forums that did not help me, this may be described as "One menu for all pages". Adobe Forums seems to be the best forum to be posting this at.

Sure it's doable, without having to use templates.
You need to remember that the include file only contains the code for the menu - no other code on the page (<body> </body etc is not allowed).
What extension are you using on the pages that use the include... they need to be shtml pages or php pages if using php includes (which are very easy to use if your server supports php). If they are html pages, then you need to make sure the server can parse html files as shtml pages.

Multiple/nested levels in CSS horizontal drop menu

I am working on updating my horizontal menu and I need to have a nested menu inside the dropdown to display to the right of its parent menu.
Example:

How can you combine multiple PDF pages into one searchable PDF page?

I have scanned multiple business cards and now have a PDF file with over 500 pages (or cards). I would like to be able and create a page with 8 cards to a page and is still searchable for text. Right now, the text is searchable. Basically have 63 pages and not 500.
Example:
If I wanted to find Joe Smith's card, I could search for "Joe Smith" and it would search all of the text and bring me to the page(s). Right now, it will bring me to that page. Is there a way to create a page where I can have multiple cards and the text is still searchable?
I tried to create a page in Photoshop, made 8 different layers with 8 different cards, but when saved, not only was the file way too large, but no text, or font, was detected and there was nothing to search for.
Is there an option to create a page in Acrobat Professional and put 8 cards to a page?
I have InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Professional Pro.

That sounds great, but I'm lost.
I followed these steps:
1) Open your PDF (in Adobe Acrobat Pro)
2) Chose print
The print/printer options pop-up will show.
3) In the printer section, do not use your normal printer, a printer named Adobe PDF should be an option. Chose it.
4) Under the "Page handling" section, change the Page Scaling drop-down menu to "Multiple pages per sheet".
It works fine, but it looses all of the font information and the search no longer works. How can you do it and save the font info, so the search tool continues to operate.
Am I missing anything?

Disable updating of the menu widget when working with Muse file?

First of all thank you Adobe for creating Muse - I really like it a lot!
My question:
when I work on my website with 250+ pages, it strains the performance to make even the slightest changes to the page structure. I work with two Masters each with much the same horisontal menu widget.
Adding, deleting and rearranging pages makes the PC (Windows 7 laptop of some but not awesome power) make a halt and take a deep breathe for some seconds. It really interupts the flow of working.
A crude work around for this is to removing the menu widget in the two masters and put it into a new master page, containing only the copied menu from the two other masters and keeping the rest of the header in place on the original masters to use for aligning on the pages. This way, only one page has to update when working with adding, deleting and rearranging pages.
I have tried to look for a preference to disable updating the Menu widget when working on the page structures and just enable it the update again when the work is done? does it exist? else I would recommend it strongly :-) Since my work around is a bit tricky/risky to use after publishing ;-)
Again, thanks a lot for this nice program. Being a selftought CS (now CCC) user I like the ease of control of the webdesign you can get with Muse (at the dispence of other features of course - if you ever wanted to add some sort of database-lookup feature it would be MUCH appreciated. One workaround is to use iframe and an external search/lookup page, that returns results with links back to parent pages. A bit funny construction though :-) ).

It can be very processor intensive if you have multiple Master pages with their own All Pages menu widget. Take a look at the following threads and refer to Zak's response.

Exporting drop menu dreamweaver

I have forgot how I exported a previous drop down menu created in fireworks and used in dreamweaver.
I have created some buttons, added the slices but when exported into my site in dreamweaver I place button in div tag but drop down does not work. It really is just an image.
Can you explain How I export correctly from fireworks to dreamweaver and have buttons work properly as drop menu in dreamweaver.

Opening multiple web pages at once

When I used to use a PC, I could open several web pages at the same time without closing out of any of them - this was a new feature on Internet Explorer introduced within the past year. I can't figure out how to do this on my new MacBook. Even if I open a new desktop and launch Safari, it still comes up to the page that I had open in the other desktop. Please help. Thanks.

Using Tabbed Browsing
With tabbed browsing in Safari, you can open and switch between multiple web pages in a single window. Drag and drop your tabs to rearrange them, open one in a new browser window, or merge all your current windows into one tabbed window. Safari resizes each tab depending on the number you have open. You can even bookmark a set of tabs or revert to the tabs that were open when you last closed or quit Safari.
To use tabs, instead of opening a new browser window to display another webpage without losing your current one, Command-click a link to open the page in a new tab. You can switch back and forth between tabs by simply clicking the tabs.
If you want to create a new tab to enter a URL, choose New Tab from the File menu (or press Command-T), then type a URL or select a bookmark.

And btw, Internet Explorer did not 'invent' Tabbed Browsing

Help with repeating a menu panel on each page

Hi, I am new to designing in Dreamweaver and am working on a site which has about 30 pages. The menu structure has changed since I first created the pages so I'm wondering if there's a simple way of copying the menu code to each page without manually having to open and paste it in.

If this is something that will change on a regular basis, you should look into Server Side Includes (SSI). Basically it is a file that contains your menu items that is inserted into your page(s). Once all of the pages have this include instead of the way you have it now, when you update this one file, all the pages are updated. Think of it like a picture that you have on all of your pages, if you alter the picture and upload, all the pages show the newer version.

Can I add more than one menu to a master page?

I have been struggling with this and can't find any tutorials. I am trying to add another menu to a separate page that only shows up on one group of pages. The problem I am having is the menu titles from the one that is already up comes on and I can't figure out how to get multiple menus on one page. Is there anyone that can help? I have created a menu from scratch using some different methods, but I would like to be able to not have to do that. Thanks!

Hi Carlton,
The automated Menu in Muse picks up all the pages that have show in the Menu option enabled. So, if you want a menu that only shows a group of pages, you will need to use a manual menu in Muse, you will not be able to use the automated one.
