Updating Flash 2004 PRO
A friend of mine is having an issue with updating her Flash
MX Pro 2004 software from version 7.0 to version 7.2 After
downloading the update to her iMac OS X, it says to disable any
installed Flash extensions by using the Extension Manager. I don't
have extension manager installed for MX 2004 PRO on my computer.
She found the extension manager on hers - clicked on it and
it opened up and the only option to choose from was 'install'.
Everything else is greyed out. And there is nothing in the list
below to disable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, why don't you try loading WAV files, as you suggested
to your self. It would help answer your own question and help
others to help you. Until you try all options, I'm not sure what
kind of answer you expect from others.
There could be something in the bit rate of that MP3 file
that makes it incompatible with Flash. Try some other MP3s as well.
Or convert the MP3 in question to a WAV and import it.

How to update Flash CS3 Pro...
ok here is my situation
i recently set-up a new machine and just installed Flash CS3
Pro (and FMS 3.0.1.111). It had Flash Player 1.0.115.0 so i
download the update APSB08-11 to install Flash Player 1.0.124.0.
The zip file contained a folder with the Players and following the
instructions i just copied the folder in the installation folder of
Flash CS3.
The problem is that when i test a movie in Flash CS3 Pro and
do some traces in the FMS3 Admin Console i get that Agent is
1.0.115.0.
Any ideas how to successfully update the Flash Player for
Flash CS3 Professional to 9.0.124?
I have to mention that
1. for IE7 ActiveX and Mozilla Plug-in i have Flash Player
version 10.0.2.26
2. FMS3 Admin Console is running with Flash Player version
9.0.124.0
I don't think there are any conflicts because i did some
uninstalls and tried again... It just FMS3 keeps report that agent
is 9.0.115 when testing a movie from inside Flash CS3.
Could it be because i still use the trial version of Flash
CS3 Pro? Any ideas?
Thank you in advance. Not sure I'd want to create something like that in Acrobat.
Can you create it in Word and use screen captures then PDF the end result? -
Help loading music to Macromedia Flash 2004 Pro
I used to be able to load full songs and such onto my flash
movies, but for some reason now it wont let me upload them. I go
File > Import > Import to Library > Song Choice but when
it tries to upload it comes up with an error that reads something
like "One or more files were not imported because there were
problems reading them." This is a .MP3 file.
So is my memory just bad and you can't upload MP3's? I think
I can still put in .wav's, but I don't know if I've tried. But if
you can upload MP3's and other media files, what do I do to fix
this?

What do i get with Flash pro8 vs. Flash mx 2004 pro?
Hi all,
I currently have Flash MX 2004 Pro. What more am i getting by
upgrading to Flash pro 8 that i don't already have with MX 2004
pro?HI,
Thanks...
I wish they would keep a comparison chart.
I did search the forum and read the "Whats new" in the
product discription but i still like to ask current users because
they can provide a "worth it or not worth it" opinion since some
updates are not more than an attempt to generate more revenue
through minor improvements. -
On opening google I get the message:"WARNING! Your Flash Player may be out of date. Please update to continue" - on clicking ok I am diverted to Flash Player Pro download site?? Is this a Adobe product? And why even though i have the latest flash player version I repeatedly get the message?
This is not a message that Adobe is providing, and I recommend that you not click on the link. It sounds as though you might have malware on your computer.
For more information, see: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/warning-your-flash-player-may-be-out-of-date-virus/ or http://wasconet.com/how-to-remove-warning-your-flash-player-may-be-out-of-date/ -
I just updated my macbook pro and now every time i go to youtube it tells me I have to download the new version of adobe flash player so i do and it still wont let me play it ..
Assuming Allan's advice is not correct, and you do run the installer, I think I've heard of that problem and it involves removing the old Flash plug-ins, then install the new version. I don't use it so I don't know what they are called, but will be the /Library/Internet Plug-ins folder.
You can go here and enable HTML5 in YouTube so you don't have to use Flash: http://www.youtube.com/html5
Most(?) of the content is HTML5, but you may run into videos where you still need Flash. -
How to restore sound to exported avi? - Flash MX 2004 Pro
Hi,
Over the last couple of days I have been tinkering around with Flash MX 2004 Pro. More specifically, I have been importing avi's to the library and then placing the embedded video into a movieclip so I could have more control over it. While in the library I could preview the video along with the sound. Exporting the video again in avi format it would render the sound. However, all of a sudden it will only preview the video and not the sound in the library and the same goes for when I export a video there is no sound. The strange thing is the sound is still present when I test the movie. I have tried reinstalling the program with no luck. Any ideas?
Many thanks.Well there is no answer to my question, but I did finally get the Adobe Media Encoder dialog box to come back again.
After uninstalling Premiere and QuickTime, then shutting down the computer, rebooting and logging on to the Admin account, shutting down again, rebooting again, logging in to the Admin account again ...
I then went in to the registry and removed all the Entries that had either of these in it:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\DVA\COM
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\DVA\FLASH
and these as well
C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTComponents\FLV.qtx
C?\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTComponents\FLV.qtx
Rebooted the computer, logged back in to Admin.
I then re-installed QuickTime, and rebooted.
I then installed Premiere and the Adobe Media Encoder Flash dialog now shows up.
I'd be careful messy with the registry if you are trying to fix this type of problem. Try uninstalling quicktime and premiere and do the above shutdown, reboot sequence a number of times before doing anything to the registry.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that Flash Website I've working on... -
Flash MX 2004 Pro & QuickTime Pro 7
Iam using Flash MX 2004 Pro and there is a feature that when
I want to publish a movie it says I can export a movie in
quicktime. I tried it and I get the following error. "Flash MX - An
error occured because a required QuickTime component could not be
found." I have QuickTime Pro 7 and do not understand this error.
What am I missing.

Update MX 2004 .fla to Flash 8 .fla?
Can I somehow automatically copy the Screens in an existing
MX 2004 Pro .fla and paste them into a Flash 8 Pro .fla template?
Then I would like to close the old MX 2004 .fla and save the
new v8 .fla with the same name as the old .fla?
(Of course all the MX 2004 files are backed up elsewhere!)
I don't know anything about Projects, but could one help with
this? Sort of like a macro?
I would like to get this help as quickly as possible because
I NEEDED this capability yesterday! ...Like maybe get help today?
Thanks, StevenThanks!!! It opened fine and I could test it after changing my publish settings and repointed to the xml.
Oh my though, 2.5 years away from Flash and deep in Java/J2EE development, I have almost no idea where to even begin!!
I suspect I'll have a few questions in the coming weeks. This will be fun though.
Thanks again! - Mike -
Installed Yosemite update on MacBook Pro retina late 2013 will not boot flashing folder with ?
I just Installed Yosemite update on MacBook Pro retina late 2013 will not boot flashing folder with ?
dunno, Lynn--maybe Etrecheck. trying running disk utility to verify the status of your hard drive. That may give you a basic idea. Perhaps tech tool pro. As for it running hot, I can't say for sure. try shutting it down and using a vacuum clearner +crevice tool around the back of it. It's been my experience that hard drives usually fail without a lot of warning, luckily you have a backup. Afterwards you can say "Yup, that went bad". I've done a little research and found out that your MacBook Pro doesn't come with a conventional hard drive as such, but an SSD (solid state device) . It's upgradeable (up to 1 TB ) but not cheaply
go here for more info (OWC) :http://eshop.macsales.com. For right now, I'd recommend resetting the SMC/PMU, maybe zapping the pram . to do that, reboot, hold down Apple+Option, P+R keys while rebooting. Hold down for 3 chimes, let go and let it boot. as for the SMC thing....
I'm assuming your battery isn't removeable-shut down computer, plug in MagSafe cable . On built in keyboard, on left side, press Shift-Control-Option and power button at the same time. release all the keys and the power button. press power button again to turn on computer
that is all

How to update a MacBook Pro 17 inch mid 2010 with SSD?
I know that this question probably been asked many times before, but i can't really find the answers to my specific questions.
I want to update my MacBook Pro 17 inch mid 2010 / 2,66-GHz Intel Core i7-processor, 8 GB memory, running latest Mavericks version (full specs: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP581?viewlocale=nl_NL) with a SSD (i think a 500GB) to speed up my MacBook Pro.
I have about 400GB of data, personal and work related (mostly design work) that is really important to me of course. I use 3 harddrives (one offsite) at the moment to backup everything using Time Machine which works great, because i always can fall back on it when i delete something accidentally.
The physical installation looks quite simple to do, but i have some questions about the entire procedure i hope someone can help me with:
Which SSD will fit in my Macbook Pro the best (specs)? What to look for?
And what about TRIM support to make SSD last longer, i heared that Apple default drives that come with the Mac will support TRIM, but what about any other SSDs on the market do support it and if so which ones?
There are different ways to do install SSD, but what is best procedure?
Clone HDD to SSD with Carbon Copy Cloner or restore from Time Machine?
Clean install with Bootable USB flash drive with Mavericks and restore from Time Machine?
Buy a USB enclosure for SSD and Clone HDD to SSD with Carbon Copy Cloner first and boot it to check and than install the drive?
Could anybody help me with this?
Thank you.
KrijnLook here for the maximum memory for each MBP model:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/by_capability/actual-maximum-ram-capacity-of-mac s.html
The limit is given by the memory controller ("northbridge").
There are no thermal drawbacks expanding the memory to the maximum supported limit...
However, as explained, often Apple did specify an "official" maximum RAM amount which is in reality shorter than the real value, simply because, when the machine was launched, memory sticks of the proper size for giving maximum capacity were not available.
Apple never revises the specs after the launch...
But this did not happen in your case: the maximum memory for mid-2010 Core machines appears to be effectively just 8 Gb, form the page linked above...
Final remark: in my experience, the SSD counts much more than memory for speeding up a laptop! As you already have 8 Gb, there is little value to expand to 16Gb even if it was posisble. Better to invest the same money in a larger SSD...
I expanded mine because it was equipped with just 4 Gb, and purchasing 16Gb Corsair was costing as 8 Gb Crucial. However, it was not a wise choice, those cheap Corsair memories were bad, the seller had to exchange both sticks...
If I could come back, it was better to spend more and buy Crucial memory sticks! -
I just purchased Flash 8 pro for home after using MX at work.
When I try to select anything in 8; change preferences, publish
settings, color mixer, anything.. it just stalls for minutes. The
file I am creating was started in MX and works great in MX, but
would like to use the new features in 8, but it is not useable
because of the lag! The simplest functions hangs the program.
I am using Mac OS X 10.39 on a G5 dual 1.8 with 1.5g of RAM.
What is going on?Firefox on Windows is 32-bit. From what I've heard, 64-bit Flash recently took some architectural changes which may have impacted some compatibility with 32-bit browsers.
You can download an '''experimental''' 64-bit (English only) version of Firefox from [http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/firefox-11.0a1.en-US.win64-x86_64.installer.exe our FTP site].
Note: This is a "nightly" which means that you'll get updates every day and it may be a little unstable.
Alternatively, go to adobe.com and download the 32-bit version of Flash. Then, uninstall the 64-bit version and replace with the 32-bit one. (It should work almost identically to the 64-bit version.) -
Hello,
After a Mac update, flash player (along with silverlight) asked to be installed when I tried to watch video content or play games. I installed flash player and it reports being successful and appears in my applications. However, I cannot watch videos or play games, every time I am asked to install flash player again and again and again. I suspect this has something to do with plugins but I am not sure. I have un-installed the program and reinstalled but it still will not work. I check my security settings and it does allow plugins. I erased my temporary internet files. I don't know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated! This is incredibly frustrating. Thank youThank you for responding! I am using a macbook pro 2011, 2.2ghz, intel
core i7, 16gb - version 10.9.5. I have not intentionally installed any ad
blocking software; intact I am inundated with it most times. My online
school work required that I disable pop up blockers and all was well until
an update a few weeks ago for both security and operating system. To the
best of my knowledge I am allowing pop ups and plugins but this may be
where the trouble is. I am unsure, honestly of what security is running
besides what I find in the system preference/security tab. Thank you again
for responding and any help is most appreciated.
