Updating Flash - 'error has been encountered' and exe file vanishes
On an Aspire one netbook that I've not used for some time, so loads was out of date. I've just updated firefox, and that was fine.
But I keep getting warning messages about adobe flash being out of date and vulnerable, so have tried to update that too. I've tried about half a dozen times, and every time manage to download the update exe file, but every time it fails to fully install and gives this message: "Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again."
I've gone back to the download page, and checked various possible causes. I've closed firefox first - no difference. The exe file seemed to vanish from the downloads folder, so this last time I copied it to the desktop. After the error message appears - the exe file has disappeared from the desktop. Weird.
I've tried switching off the warning message on the webpage (in case that was also blocking the newly downloaded file even when I wasn't connected to the internet, but it doesn't seem to make any difference).
Maybe I don't really care whether adobe is working or not, as I don't use the netbook much anyway - but I feel very uneasy with that warning message on so many web pages. I've tried searching forums, but it was all a bit beyond me.

I have Adobe Acrobat Professional installed as part of a legal copy of CS3 Web on a Dell Lattitude D830 with Vista Business SP1. I have been using Acrobat without a problem until the latest update (8.1.2). After the installation I now get "A serious error has been detected and Adobe EPIC_APP cannot continue. Please reinstall the application and try again".
PS I opened Photoshop, Dreamweaver and other programs in the suite and do not have a problem. A search on the forums and Google shows other people with the same problem but no solution. Uninstall.
Reboot.
Install with Admin privileges ( right-click on setup.exe >Properties>Compatability Tab> Select Run as Admin)
Run it at least once from an admin account so it has access to Shell32.dll and can set the proper settings. -
Adobe Flash Player won't operate when I am using Mozilla. The window says that it is disabled. I have tried enabling it, but it doesn't do anything. When I try to download the latest version of AFP, it says that it will download when Mozilla Firefox is closed. I have closed Mozilla, I have turned the computer off and nothing that I have tried has activated AFP.
I had been getting those notices for months, I finally broke down and hit the button to automatically upgrade. I was flooded with offers of new services from $10. to $49. per month - and my audio/video for Facebook, NYT and NPR are "blocked" with the advice to "upgrade " my Adobe Flash Player - for which there does not seem to be any customer support. My advice is to skip the "upgrading" if your computer works;I do not know what to do now . . .

GroupWise Error D115 an error has been encountered
The above error is happening on a number of users mailboxes.
We are running GW 8.02 HP2 on NW6.5 Sp8.
I have tried running a mailbox repair and done a structural rebuild but it is still happening.
Perhaps I am running gwcheck incorrectly (using standalone version) so if anyone has a definitive guide or link to same please post it. The GW client version on the users workstation is 8.02. They do not have any issue using mail after the error occurs but it would be better to have it corrected in case further corruption of the mailbox happens.Originally Posted by ahennessy

The issue in this case was with the particular Archive which was located on a different server. After verifying the user had the correct rights to the folder I checked the folder contents and they had never archived. (only NGWGuard.db,NGWGuard.dc and user.db in the folder.) I deleted the contents of the archive folder and got the user to archive successfully as these files are re-created. -
How do you fix the error message, An error has been encountered while writing the current CD list.
The error message goes on to say, Please check your device settings or consult your device documentation regarding resolving writing errors. Which device do you think they are referring to? The message came up half way through writing Track 5. So I selected a second set of tracks and got the same error message, this time at Track 3. I tried to play written CD (imation CD-R 1x 52x 700 mb). Opened the tracks using Windows Media Player. First time I was able to play one or two tracks, next time Window Media Player gave me the error message error message C00D0FAB. I have twice before successfully recorded the tracks using a Rode Podcaster, mixed them down and successfully wrote two version of my audio book. Now its not working. Any solutions?

Sorry, but I would have thought that this was rather obvious! The only device capable of being written to under these circumstances is your CD drive; after all, it's a CD you are trying to create...
You have two potential major causes of problems here. The most common cause of these difficulties is the disks themselves - you only need a batch with poor reflectivity to cause all sorts of read errors, so that's the first thing to try - using a different brand of disk to write to. The second thing you have to realise is that CD writers have a finite life - the lasers in them simply don't last for ever, and towards the end of their lives the power behaviour tends to be a bit erratic, and it tends to fall off somewhat - which causes the same sorts of errors, simply because the dye doesn't get evaporated efficiently. This causes mis-formed pits, hence the read errors. The only solution here is to install a new drive.
When it comes to reading, commercial CDs have a much higher reflectivity than ones you write yourself, so often these will play whilst your own will fail - a common cause of confusion, this. But it's worth checking; if you get failures to reproduce all of the tracks from a commercial pressed CD, then almost certainly your drive is failing. -

Ok, so about six months ago, my company let go of their Systems Administrator because she was causing many problems in the workplace... Yesterday morning i logged onto the server and found several files open with her name on them, including her confidentiality
agreement, and Employment offer letter, as well as the confidential folder that holds all employees personal identity information (she remote into the Server about 10 Minutes before i logged in, thus kicking her off not allowing her to close what she was opening/copying.
I attempted to check the logs to see what IP she was connecting with but was only able to find the following:
She remoted into the server about through Remote Desktop about 20 times on the 27th of May 2014, (horrible weather and she was probably logging in in a McDonald's Wifi and it kept kicking her off).
I took the day off because my area was flooded and couldnt make it to work.
She logged on, on the 28th of May, 2014 about 16 times before i logged on kicking her off, leaving everything she was doing open for me to see.
Everytime i remote into the server from my house or the office i get the following...

As you can see no IP address is shown unlike everyone other PC that remotes into the server... She has been using our server as her personal file host for her real estate business, she was fired last year for sabotaging AutoCad drawings her ex boyfriend
was working on (they are back together and was the one she set up with full access to server) and she has been adding and modifying files in her group drive via the administrator account. She also disabled several roles we had installed, and gave her
boyfriend (who happens to work at the company) More administrator right than myself, as I built the server from ground up, and Only the Company owners had access to remote desktop, besides the administrator account... I want to make sure she didn't create
any hidden accounts that she can still log into.. I found under ADSI Edit Under Domain Controllers, Subscription Properties an account (servername$) which doesn't not show up in active directory, but had full access to everything... Is there a way to uncover
hidden Accounts she may have created to get into the server, as I've know from previous experiences, that $ sign normally refers to a hidden account or file of some sort.. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, The FBI is currently investigating

Also I would immediately remove all people form any kind of administrative groups, MUST of course be agreed from the company owner, then change the administrator account password. If there is a need for the additional administrators the company chief
has to agree on this and there should also be made some clear rules, maybe from a lawyer about consequences etc. Remote access to the network should be blocked or made more secure with two factor authentication, tokens for example, just using Remote Desktop
at the moment I would not allow until the network is better secured and you can be sure there are no unknown administrative accounts.

I have had the same problem for WEEKS and I cannot access any sites that use Flash. Flash has been installed on this computer since I bought it in 2012. I have allowed auto updates but for weeks the updates never get past Step 2 - is this because I do NOT want the Google Tool bar? I use NO tool bars as there is only 6 inches of vertical screen space. Is this because I uncheck wanting Chrome as a default browser? It is already installed, I just don't use it. I came to this site and ran the check is it installed and the system says it is either not installed or not enabled. Version 14 just downloaded about 30 minutes ago - but did not progress to Step 3 although a pop up screen came up with a finish button, which I clicked. WHAT is the problem and how do I fix it? If this were just a compatibility bug between IE11 and Adobe they have had plenty of time to fix it.

For SAP B1, just need to patch java.exe, if you develop/test something in IDE you should also patch javaw.exe, please notice the right path used in IDE.
Just my steps-
1. download the Visual studio express 2008 from microsoft.com and install it online(no need to download SQLSERVER Express)
2. backup the original exe file, java.exe/javaw.exe
3. edit the PATH environment variable plus 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 9.0VC in'
4. open CMD window and enter into %JAVA_HOME%/bin/
5. Use dumpbin.exe to check the original stack size
dumpbin.exe /headers java.exe
find line: 40000 size of stack reserve
It means the current stack size is 256k
6. Use editbin.exe to patch the exe, for example with 2m stack size
2m = 2 * 1024 *1024 bytes = 2097152 bytes
editbin.exe /stack:2097152 javaw.exe
7. Use dumpbin.exe to verify the patch.

Error message: ni: A frame has been dropped and the acqusition has been canceled
I use a NI PCIe 1433 framegrabber with a Basler spl4096-140km line camera.
Using triggered acqusition with an external source, I can get a framerate of 68500Hz in NI-MAX.
When I use the Matlab image acquisiton toolbox to acquire data, I however very often get the error message: 'ni: A frame has been dropped and the acqusition has been canceled". This happens even at much lower framerates (20kHz) and only seems to go away when acquiring data slowly.
Computer is a Dell Precision 7600 and I assume there should be no issues with RAM or the PC being slow. The error does not go away when reducing the data size (i.e. reducing the ROI to one single point that is readout).
Do you have any pointers why this error message appears and what can be done about it?

I encountered the same problem and I think it is because the allowcation of storage in matlab cannot catch up with that of the camera so that it will drop frames when the buffer is full.
I also want to know how to solve that.

New error with upgrade jboss/tomcat: "Connection handle has been closed and is unusable"

This error suddenly appeared when we upgraded from jboss3/tomcat5.0 to jboss4.2/tomcat5.5.
here's the usecase:
1) User clicks on report link
2) Crystal reports web componnent displays screen to fill in report parameters.
3) user enters parameters and clicks submit
4) System throws Exception
The same reports worked fine with jboss 3.2.6/tomcat 5.0. We haven't touched anything in this realm.

OK. I found the problem along with a workaround.

The 'cached connection manager' basically makes sure that the application cleans up after bad programmers. It seems most helpful in development, load testing, or trouble shooting.

Hi, first time posting on the forum. I own a 2011 IMAC i5 with 12gb of ram 27 inch. Over the last five days the computer has been crashing and running very erratically. When the computer has crashed the entire computer has become unresponsive and frozen, requiring a reboot or two. At other times the computer has slowed way down and the dreaded spinning beachball has appeared and the computer takes its sweet time trying to process something. Iphoto has also crashed independently when the beahball will not disappear. THE entire system is running way below its usual stellar quad performance. I have run a ram test and everything has come back clean, I have fixed any broken permissions, and deleted any newly added software (starcraft2). There is over 250Gb of hard drive free and the activity monitor shows no unusual processes. The computer automatically updated it self recently to 10.8.1 has this caused a conflict with some software? Or is there a deeper problem?
Below are the console reports. There are also reports for unversalaccessd , mdworker, Isregister, loginwindow, iphoto, DMproxy which can be supplied.
