Updating HP Pavilion a410n still using Windows XP
How can I get updates for my HP Pavilion a410n that is still using Microsoft Windows XP when the new HP Support Assistant will not work with Windows XP?
I'd sure appreciate the advice or help!

Hi:
I would just use Windows Update to manage your security and other updates.
I doubt you will get any new drivers, etc for your machine and periodically if you want you can always check the driver download page for your PC:

The latest flash player release is 11,0,1,152.
Can you upgrade to this version and see whether the crash stil exists?

When I do start to play it freezes frequently and I use escape to free it up. This has been going on for a month. I have no idea what to do. I am not very computer savy and I have been learning as I go. -

I can understand the fear of messing up a computer when I first started seriously working on computers back in the early 90's I had to format and re-install my operating system twice a day for quite a while before I figured out a very important step (at least important for me), and that was after I made a change to my computer to restart it. This way if I messed something up I only had to undo one thing and not 50 because I went wild on it. lol
Anyways, do not be afraid of your computer all you need to do is learn that step, how to keep your personal items backed up and then of course how to re-install your computer back to factory and you can always start over with a fresh build.
On to your questions:
Q - What are the steps to ensure that all HP updates are done.
A - Simply review the HP Support document: Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8) and it will guide you through the process.

A - Simply review the Microsoft Support document: Windows Update: Frequently Asked Questions and again you will find answers to this question. (***Note: Do not worry if the document refers to Windows 8.1 it is only an upgraded version of Windows 8 and the steps are the same)

I have just transferred my iTunes library from a hard drive previously connected to a windows laptop to a MacBook Pro and now all my options for editing info are greyed out. I have seen the answers if still using windows but could find a similar situation to this one.

you'd have to point +iTunes media folder location+ back to the external via preferences > advanced > iTunes media folder location, then file > library, organize library > consolidate files

in that case it might be best to copy the entire iTunes folder to the external. then, on each machine, launch iTunes while pressing option on your keyboard. when prompted, click on +choose library+ and navigate to the iTunes folder on the external.
note only one iTunes can access the iTunes library @ a time !
also, make sure the external is mounted on either machine before launching iTunes.

My Phone is Lumia 1020 and I had Denim 8.1 Update latest version on my phone. But While using It was freezing and crashing, Then I've used Windows Phone Recovery Tool and Now It works smooth and perfect but It has returned to Windows 8 Amber (Update 2, OS version: 8.0.10328.78).
I want to update to Denim or at least Cyan. Now I'm checking for updates but every time It says 'Your phone is up to date'. It's not showing any updates, So how do I update my phone now ?

A day ago I updated my iPhone4 to io5 and iTunes update as well. I use windows7 (64bit). now iTunes freezes at open and I have to force it closed. Anythng I missed along the way?

MNRKI don't know about 11g, but with 10g and earlier, the odbc drivers do not install by default with the client. You have to choose "custom installation" then select "windows components". Since I never knew what all would be installed in a "typical" (admin or run-time) installation, I would always select one of those configs (admin or run-time, as appropriate), then run a second installation - choosing the same ORACLE_HOME as before, choosing "custom" installation, then selecting "windows components" from the list of features. -
I have a HP Pavilion P6000 desktop, using Windows 7.
I have a HP Pavilion P6000 Desktop. Model p6531p. For about 2 weeks now, if I stop using my computer for even 5 minutes,
the processor will turn itself completely off. Is there something that was set incorrectly that I can change myself?? I'm using Windows 7 (if that makes any difference).The model you have given is just a series number. For better assistance, please provide the full HP model name and/or product number of the computer in question. Please check "Control Panel" > "Power Options" for settings that may affect your computer in the manner you describe.

The normal solution to most problems with HP Support Assistant is to uninstall the application from Control Panel / Uninstall a program. Then download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the HP Web site:

Look for the Download HP Support Assistant heading and select Notebooks or Desktops as appropriate.

Audio duplicate feature on hp pavilion-1247cl notebook using windows 7 not working
. i have a hp pavilion dv6-1247cl laptop.running on windows 7 initially i was able to use the duplicate feature-fn/f4 key to display and hear my web page on the tv screen using the hdmi cable connection. i am unsure if i have accidentally changed a setting recently on my laptop or what,but i am unable to get sound audio any longer through my tv or receiver system as before. the video from the laptop on the tv still shows fine the hdmi connection ran computer to tv then audio cable out from tv to receiver. i can get the sound to work if i connect an audio cable directly fron the hp headphone jack on my laptop into the same audio input channels in my receiver. anyone got any ideas if the laptop is on the fritz or do i just need to change some setting ps the laptop is relatively new thanks for any input ..
Thanks for the help, but I found the program to fix it. After searching for hours. I stumbled upon this link and it finally worked and the unknown device was only my headset and the other one I just updated by making it search online for the software. Firefox will not open even after update or in safe mode using windows button + R
Tried solitions given on site using IE. Firefox will not start at all, did latest update and tried safe mode start.
Only get box stating it has encounterd a problem and crashed. This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.Safe mode works, disabling all plugins does not resolve. Installed older version of Firefox. This failed to resolve.

My podcast page in 'My library' does not show. I have "What's New" message but can't access/play podcasts from the page so unable to play on laptop.I still get automatic downloads of new podcasts and transfer to my ipod. It is just that I cannot play any of them on the laptop as "Lists" or "My podcasts" cannot be viewed, only the "What's up" message, so just cant access any newor old on my laptop screen. Any help would be welcome.Thanks.CJ
