Dear Friends,
I have ipad2 with ios5.01
Is it really worth upgrading to ios5.1, if so what are the advantages (features)
I have a general notion that ios5.1 specific to battery issues of iphone 4s, and also the retina display for the new ipad.
Please suggest.

Bug fixes and the enhanced Camera app are two good reasons.

trying to update my ipad2 to ios5, doesnt work qith my itunes update already, it sends an error code, and told that i have a problem with my network.
whats next?Don't update to iOS 5. It's crap. It causes your apps to crash, your phone operates slower, safari has tremendous lag on downloading information, facebook app crashes, etc., etc. Wait until Apple releases a "release" to correct their iOS 5 release. It also screws up your iPad 2. I'm going back to iOS 4 until they can correct the "bugs".

Updated iPad2 to iOS5 - iTunes 10.5 crashes trying to sync photos
When tryung to sync my iPad, iTunes crashes upon getting about 1/3 of the way through the step of Analyzing the iPhoto Library. I am trying to sync 1 (one) Album from my iPhoto library. My versions are as follows - iPhoto 9.2, Mac OS X 10.6.8, iTunes 10.5, my 64GBi Pad2 is running iOS 5 and has over 12 GB free space. My iMac has over 150 GB free space. I have repeatedly trashed the iPod Photo Cache in the iPhoto Library, to no avail. This has only been a problem since the latest updates came out on 12 October 2011. I would really like to have my latest travel photos with me when I go visiting next week. And no I'd rather not turn on Photo Stream, thank you. I am tempted to just let it keep attempting and crashing as sending the crash reports to Apple. Any other help is welcome.
More info on this issue. I have close to 9,000 photos in my iPhoto library. The iPad will sync photos from a designated folder outside of iPhoto. This leads me to beleive my iPhoto library structure is corrupt (although I can view all the photos in iPhoto without crashing) or some metadata to the library is bad. Either way when iTunes tries to analyze the iphoto library somewhere between 20% and 40% of the way through the process, it goes BOOM! I am trying to look for help on rebuilding the iphoto library and see it that helps, but haven't found anything so far.

Sync errors for iPad2 with iOS5
Updated iPad2 to iOS5.
Now keep getting sync errors, like: cannot finish sync process.
Anyone with same problem and possible answer? What the covers of the books is solved, you could just remove them and put them back again.
But the shared library, the more chapters or movies I put more chaotic it becomes... -

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Help needed I updated my ipad2 with iOS5 but few of my dashbaords (HTML5) are not working now ,can any one let me know how to downgrade the OS as we have a meeting coming up .. its urgent
Downgrading the iOS is not supported. If you are using Safari this try clearing its cache via Settings > Safari.
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Hello, my email is connected to Lotus Notes. When I updated my iPad to iOS 6, it REQUIRED that I have a password for the iPad or else my email wouldn't work or synchronize with Lotus Notes (on my work laptop). This is really frustrating, because I cannot disable the password under General<Passcode. Thanks!
This would almost certainly be a setting that is being enforced by your company. You'll need to talk to them about this.

I was trying to update my iOS to 7.1 but I can't, I have internet connection but if requires WiFi? before I can update my OS just using my phone internet but now I can't. Does OS 7.1 really require WiFi? Thanks!
The iPhone requires wi-fi to update if you try to update over the air, since the phone needs to reboot, thus disconnecting itself. You can update via iTunes and the computer, but you would not be able to tether to the phone for the internet connection, since the phone would disconnect. So, you can either update via wi-fi and the phone, or you can update with a computer that has an internet connection other than the phone.

How do i update the second ipad2 with iOS5?
Hi,
I have updated my iPad2 with "Download & Update" option, to iOS5. I have another iPad2 in hand, what is the best way to update this to iOS5. Do i have to download the iOS5 all again? or will my computer would have stored the iOS5 somewhere, which i had downloaded earlier?
Can any of you please help me with steps, to do so?If it's the same type of iPad (i.e. first gen iPad, iPad 2 wifi, iPad 2 3G CDMA, iPad 2 3G GSM) then you should be able to use the same iOS update file. Press and hold the shift key (control key on a Mac) when clicking the Check For Update button and navigate to, and select, the .ipsw update file - which should be somewhere like :
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/iTunes/iPad Software Updates
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates\ -
Hello. After updating my Ipad2 to Ios5 Ive missed some Apps( pages and numbers). What's wrong with my device? Thanx
Were the apps on your computer's iTunes when you started the update process ?
As long as the apps are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . If you download them to your computer's iTunes you could then try restoring to your backup and see if that restores them and their settings/content - a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings, so for the restore to work fully iTunes needs access to the apps so that it can restore them. -
Help! Just updated my Ipad2 to IOS5 and have now lost 90% of my music!
I updated my Ipad2 to IOS5 by linking up to my itunes on my Windows pc. It appears that all music I'd uploaded to itunes from CD's over the years has gone, all purchased items are still there though.
I've lost about 10,000 tracks - is there any way I can retrieve these? I've tried to restore from a previous backup but all the files have disappeared from previous itunes libraries too!
HELP!The tracks are showing in iTunes on my pc but won't play - it says it can't locate the file. When I check in my system iTunes folder, none of the cd import files are there.
Have tried syncing to iPad again but only purchased tracks will sync. I get an error message which says 100+ songs could not sync as file cannot be found?
Any ideas? I'm stumped! -
Bought a TV show through iTunes, can't find it on iPad2 w/iOS5
Hi,
I bought a TV show through iTunes before upgrading to iOS5, it shows up as "Downloaded" (so can't buy it again) in iTunes on the iPad2 with iOS5, but it is nowhere to be found -- not in Downloads, or Purchased, or ....
Ideas?
Thanks,
MarvRe-downloading TV shows is currently only available in the US : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
Before updating to iOS 5 did you copy all your purchases from the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases ? If you did then you should be able to sync it back to the iPad. -

Issues after updating iPhone3GS to iOS5 on TIM cellular data network (Italy)
Hi everyone
I have issues after updating iPhone3GS to iOS5 on TIM cellular data network.
After installing iOS5 I had to switch from apn ibox.tim.it to wap.tim.it
Since then the phone is unusable for any internet activity that is barely "data demanding" (e.g facebook app take literaly hours to update), everyting requires way to much time... the iPhone is not an iPhone anymore... it's worse than my blackberry with just GPRS on it.
TIM technical support suggested me to switch back on apn ibox.tim.it, but then I would not be able to use internet tethering anymore (they say because of Apple iOS5) ... to bad I need internet tethering for work.
I am seriously thinking to switch ISP or phone.
Anyone did experience same problem / found a solution?Hi Raia.D,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
The first thing I would suggest is to restart your iPhone. Then tap the Settings app, and you should see Cellular listed on the main settings screen. You should see Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and then Cellular.
Here are some additional troubleshooting steps to try:
