Updating iPhone Problem please help!!
Hi I was hoping someone could help me with a small problem I am having while trying to update my iPhone (16GB 3G). When I go to update it everything goes fine and then when I get to the part of the process involving "backing up" the iPhone it takes a long time and seems to stop about halfway through. Is there anyway I can skip the backup process? I don't have the time to let my phone sit for 5 hours to update! haha so I'm stuck with 2.0 right now!! I really want 2.2

The last version of iOS to be supported is 4.2.1. If apps require something higher, you will not be able to use them. The only way around this is to buy a new phone. You can NOT install iOS 5 on an iPhone 3G.

Iphone problem, please help!!!
My 8gb Iphone 4 was saying it was full and wouldnt let me sync any new music/apps, etc. It had nearly 2gb of 'other' so using DiskAid I managed to delete all the 'other' files and have alot more space on my phone, however, after doing this, none of my songs will play. It skips through all my songs without me pressing anything, yet they play on my Itunes libary. I have tried syncing it all again, I have also tried to back up and restore my Iphone but it says there isnt enough space on the phone for me to do so. All my music is illegally downloaded as I cant afford to pay for songs on Itunes, and the songs I have actually bought from Itunes (which is about 5 songs) wont even play either. I spoke to a woman in my local Apple store and she suggested backing up everything and then restoring it, but I'm scared incase I do it wrong and lose everything. She said it is possible that the songs names are on my phone, but the actual track isnt.. How do I sort this? This is very urgent as I am doing a music course at college and I need my music on my phone! Please help me or I will end up smashing my phone with a hammer!
You have to do a DFU on the phone. the other stuff is firmwear and sofware. If you delete this than you must do a DFU. A DFU is pretty much distoying the phone and re-downloading everything. If you do this than you will not be able to restore from any back-up. I am with you man. I have a 64Gb iPhone 5 and the other files takes up 9Gb of space. It is very annoying.

I can't update iPhone 4 please help!
I bought my iphone 4 over a year ago from EBay. It's locked to 02 network I have never had any problems with it & it works fine but I have never been able to update it to any latest versions. It's just stuck on 4.1 and each time I try to update it on iTunes it does something for ages and then a message comes up saying your device could not be updated. Please note that the phone has never been jailbroken. Anyone who can advise me will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
I've turned them all off the domain firewall, the public and private firewalls. I'm updating it again now I hope it works. I've tried to update the phone every other week and I've had it since January 2011! Anyway thank you for your advice I'll let you know what happens.

Big iphone problem, please help
I was using the internet on my phone today and the iphone suddenly froze, i couldn't move the screen around and i could not use the sleep button to turn off the screen, or reset the phone. eventually the backlight dimmed, and the screen went black. I have tried using the forced recovery on the iphone, it doesnt work. When I switch the silence ringer option, it does not vibrate.I plugged it into my computer(PC) and it did nothing. I have had the phone for about 10 months now and it has never given me any sort of problem. It is like all methods of imput don't register. I am pretty sure it is dead. Please prove me wrong.
Have you tried to reboot the phone. Do that by holding down both the home button and the power on/off button until you see the Apple logo. When you said you tried the force recovery, you mean by holding the home button and plugging it into iTunes on the computer? If none of that works, then it is time to make an appointment with the Genius Bar. That can be done online at http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar

IPhone problem please help me!
Hi there, I have had my 3G S for about 6 months, and I had it sitting next to me while I was on my computer. I then tried clicking my home button, and nothing happened. I hit the sleep button, tried to turn it on, tried syncing to my computer and nothing helped at all. Please someone tell me what I can do!

Updated feed problem, PLEASE help, tried everything....
Ive seen this same issue here in forums with no solution:
Service Provider hosting my old feed was going down in a month...
I placed the correct update tag in my feed to point to the new feed....
1 month went by, the server went down...
my new feed is valid at feedvalidator.org...

Possibility again that if iTunes didn't grab the feed with the <Itunes:new-feed-url> tag, it never updated its database.
It's tricky with your existing subscribers. Theoretically, if they subscribed before the old server went down, they should have received a copy of the new XML which would include the new feed url and their iTunes client would have updated itself to point to the new feed...granted they started up iTunes before the old server went down.
If they subscribed after the server went down, (i.e today), they won't get any episodes (it's still pointing to the old server).
You only have really two options to fix iTunes to point at the correct URL:
1) See if you can get access to the old server again at the old URL, put a copy of your new feed there which includes the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag. Then ping iTunes...sit back and wait until you can verify that iTunes changed the url it has in its database to the new one. You can subscribe to the feed and check the "show description" or continue to ping iTunes until it shows the correct URL in the "podcast ping received" results.
2) Remove the podcast and re-submit. Click the "report a concern" button for your feed in iTunes and choose the option to remove the podcast. Then re-submit.
Itunes provides no real way of knowing how many subscribers you have nor does it keep a list of subscribers. They are just playing matchmaker...just providing a list of podcasts and allowing people to subscribe to the URL you have listed. Once they have subscribed, they don't go back to the iTunes directory...they go straight to your URL.
Some podcast services like "Feedburner" can keep track of metrics and can give you data on subscribers and episodes downloaded.

Upon submit (partial submit) of the page this method does not get called. Why is this?I found what the problem is but now I have another problem. The problem was if there is nothing in the inputText then the validation method won't be called. But the problem with this is I can't just set required="true" on the inputText because I'm using a button that does a partialSubmit to fill in the inputText.
So basically what I'm saying is I need to create my own required validation. Is this even possible? -
hi..i just bought an iphone 5 yesterday 32GB..and now when i am trying to update the software..it says the following: unable to check for update/an error occurred while cheking for a software update...please help me..is it a problem in my new iphone??or it's just an temporary error in the apple software center???

Yes. You can't update or restore any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone. The sim card need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. If you want to update, you need to get a sim card. -

Hi, i had the same problem. Try to find the file "apple" or "itunes" don't know it anymore exactly. Ahm well you need to delet any information or just plug in your iphone into an other computer. important is that your iphone never has been pluged in this computer before. This was what i did, and it worked!

IPhone activation lock problem please help
My friend has bougth an iPhone 5 with iOS 7 through OLX . OLX is a website like craiglist where people buy there products directly to sellers.
iPhone 5 when he bougth was good and was in working condition. He bougth it yesterday.But suddenly in the nigth he got a maessage that "message from iPhone owner that your iPhone is lost " and the iPhone has been stuck in the activation lock and is asking for the apple id of the consumer and the owner of th phone from whome he has bougth has stopped responding.
Please help him to get out of this problem .I have bougth ut by paying full price is there any way apple will help me in this issue or is there any way i can activate my iPhone.

I had to restore my phone because of some problem and now im stuck at the activation lock. I dont know the iCloud ID of the original user(that could be helpful in order to contact the user) and obviously I dont know the password aswell. So now my $855 worth device is useless. Ive been waiting for three months for some solution but all in vain. APPLE!!! PLEASE help me out here.

Don't worry, just follow these steps to fix iPhone stuck on Apple logo
=> First of all Start your Computer and then connect with Internet connection, now Download the latest version of the iTunes application
=> Now install the iTunes application in your System and connect your Device with computer via Data cable
=> Now connect your Device with iTunes application and then Tab on summary option, see in the left side bar of iTunes
=> Now Select restore option from iTunes and then confirm the Restore Message for better results. After this unplug your Device and Restart it

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:
