Updating iPod nano Manually-How do you do it?

I am trying to update my iPod manually. The instructions say to "Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source list", but iPod nano does NOT appear in my Source list. Is this possible and how do I get it to appear, so I can use properly. Thanks

It sounds like you have a 5G Nano.  See your iPod's User Guide for information on how to delete these videos from the Nano via the Nano's interface.

    Hi Divine Inspiration,
You wouldn't connect the iPod to the iPad for data transfers. Music is stored and shared either through a computer or iCloud.

Don't try to change the songs. Connect the iPod, click on the name of it, go to the Summary page and Restore it as a new device.

  • Updating Ipod nano

When I try to update my Ipod it says "Songs on the Ipod cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist." I deleted a playlist because I didnt want it on my Ipod anymore. How do I get it to update?

"Make sure you have iTunes 7.0.2 and it should automatically update the iPod for you. If the playlist is still on your computer, you can always reload it into the nano."
Why do you keep handing out poor and incorrect advice on the iPod forums if you don't actually own one?
    Just curious.

  • CANNOT UPDATE IPOD NANO

I have an Ipod Nano and I have songs on my Itunes that my daughter has downloaded previously to her Ipod and I also imported CD's that I want to put on and I keep getting the message that the songs on my Ipod cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist. Can anybody help me? I am going nuts trying to figure this out. Thank you!!

In iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences>iPod (tab) and which is selected of these three?:
    - Automatically update all songs and playlists
    - Manually manage songs and playlists
    - Automatically update selected playlists only
I'm assuming it's of the latter (Automatically update selected playlists only) but the ones that are checked are not there anymore.

  • IPod nano manual is no good!

    Hi,
got this big problem that wouldn't be so big if I had the right manual. I have an iPod nano 2nd gen (4GB), and for almost any questions I have (how to transfer photos, use it as a hard disc, etc) they explain it to me with what seems to be 3 easy steps:
1)Open iTunes, then select the iPod nano in the main window
    2)Click on ''music''
3)Select ''synchronise the music''(for instance), then click on ''all songs and playlists''.
The thing is, there is no such thing on my iTunes as iPod nano in the main window. So the other steps are pretty useless to me. I asked a friend of mine who is very good at those things and said that it was like I had the old manual for the new iPod (cos he didn't find the ''iPod nano on the main window'' either. So what's going on? Can you help?
