UpDating Lightroom 2.5 to 2.7

I ran into a problem and am wondering if any body else has had this problem,when I updated lightroom 2.5 to 2.7 I lost all my files and Lightroom 2.7 showed  my catolog as no fotos at all , I then needed to spend a whole day locating and reloading them again: what would cause this action or what have I over looked when updating my lightroom program. This is the main reason I have not gotten lightroom 3 as yet since I do not feel like reloading all those files again: Any thoughts why this would happen: I am running windows 7 64bit with 6gigs of ram quad dualcore 2.4mghtz PC desk top machine:

I update over present software unless told otherwise by the software company, This has happened to me Twice so far see below, so before I upgrade, I want to make sure ,I do not have to reload the Catalog again; I am open to suggestions here: Thanks for your responce

I've paid a lot of money for software from Windows and Adobe, but then when we run into problems, we're left in the dark. THOUSANDS have been facing the same problem (as any simple google search can show us) and still, no useful help.

    The message is in swedish. Basically the program memory has not enough
    capacity. Close safari, mail Spotify. When I do this the screen freezes and I
    need to press start for 5 sec. to restart the machine. No error code. Apple not
    very helpful.

  • I updated Lightroom to version 6, but now it won't open.

    I updated Lightroom to version 6 from 5.6, and now it won't open.  I have tried un-installing it and re-installing it and nothing.  I then uninstalled 5.6 to see if that would help (shouldn't this have disappeared after the update??), and nothing.  Please help. 

    Also, I did the install after I updated CC and then I did try re-starting my computer.

  • How Does One Update Lightroom to 4.3 if in this Creative Cloud Hell???

    Trying to update to 4.3 from 4.1  -- Checked the application manager - no updates to 4.1.  Went through the program - update lightroom - downloaded 4.3 and it installed as a separate program without deleting 4.1.  Now it asks for a serial number.  Creative cloud members don't get serial numbers.
    Here's my chat transcript with adobe's terrible, hellacious, moronic, and incompetent support person:

    Have you tried applying the update by going to Help>Updates within Photoshop Lightroom?  The update should be using the same licensing?  Did you perhaps customize the installation location?  Finally which operating system are you using?

    How do I update Lightroom 4.4 to download canon g16 raw images from my camera?

    You cannot read your G16 native raw files with any version of LR 4 so there’s no information, here, about paying to update from LR4 to LR 4.4.  You need LR 5.2 to read G16 raw files natively.  LR 4.x to LR 5.x is a pay-for upgrade.
    Alternatively you can use the DNG Converter 8.2 or newer to convert the G16 raw files to DNG raw files and those will work in your older LR 4 version.
    Adobe updates whatever the current version is with new cameras, so once LR 5 came out LR 4.x ceased to be updated for new cameras.

    I am not familiar with a Coolpix P6800.  A P7800 requires LR 5.3 or higher, so wouldn’t work with LR 4.  There is an S6800 that was announced 4 months ago that I don’t see produces raw files to be supported or not by LR.

    1. I have Creative Cloud and Lightroom v5.7.1.
    2. CC offered a new version of LR.
    3. I clicked download new version.
    4. I now have 2 (two) LR shortcut icons on my desktop monitor screen.
    5. The new version doesn't open.
    6. The old version opens. Window pops up - LR catalog can't open. Quit other version of LR. Also - preview of image in LR is blank. Says photo missing.
    7. Computer specs? Don't know what you want. 32Gb ram, i5, 1Tb
    8. LR worked fine before upgrade.
    9. Reached Adobe by phone. Started to talk. Line went dead.
    10. My phone is working fine.

  • Help Menu & Update Lightroom 5.4. not working

    Recently tried to update Lightroom via the Help menu but get an error message saying "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program, or if one is installed, create an association in the Default Programs Control panel.
    Also, when I go to the Help menu and click Lightroom Help I get an error message saying "Cabnnot display Help".
    Any ideas anyone??

    Sounds like it could be the monitor profile but you will need to supply more system, etc information to isolate the issue and assist you.

    Then proceed to repair your Quicktime:
    Win7/Vista - Start / Control Panel / Programs n Features.
    WinXP - Start / Control Panel / Add n Remove Programs
    Highlight QUICKTIME and click CHANGE then REPAIR
