Updating links in Premier

I seem to lose my connection with linked files (mostly stills) way too frequently and the archaic relinking single files from a folder full of files is really getting old. Is there no way to point to a folder containing a link and have Premier update all other files linked to that folder- as InDesign can do?
Any help will be appreciated.

I've been seeing random smatterings of posts like this. The first thing I'd ask is whether or not you have the Mercury GPU (openCL) mode enabled or not (check under your project settings). If so, does it start to behave if you flip it back to software mode?
I'm starting to suspect that a lot of the openCL issues people have been seeing on macbooks may actually be related to heat issues & GPU throttling. Apparently this is a well known thing in gaming circles. I did happen to trip across this link where someone is trying to tinker with the power management system to keep it from throttling. I don't know whether or not this applies, but I think it's potentially an interesting angle to pursue.

InDesign 5 keeps crashing (updating links, exporting to PDF)

Hey there,
I need help making sense of the below crash report. My InDesign 5 keeps crashing, whenever I want to update links, export to PDF and similar. It runs on a new MacBook Pro, Lion 10.7.4. I've reinstalled the whole software package as well as InDesign separately a couple of times. Tried the update downloads on adobe.com as well, but I got an error message, when trying to install them.

Dreamweaver MX Update Links broken

Nancy O, posts several links to download links for Dreamweaver MX. The actual download link for the updater (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/resourcecenter/rc_driver.cfm?pageName=dwmx%5Fupdater) is broken. I spent several hours looking for the correct link, and two chats with on-line support. Support's only suggestion, post the question here because they can only "help" with the corrent version.
The question I have been burning to ask; what is the updated link to download Dreamweaver MX? I have an older Mac, I purchased the version I own, and I need to update it after a re-install.

The MX links are switched off as are the servers used to activate these old products. Adobe has provided direct download links for CS2 products and associated serial numbers to get round it:

You will need to login in the usual way but once you are in, you can download any CS2 product and use the serial number provided so that you don't need to activate the product.

Dreamweaver 8 - not updating links when moving files

I am still having problems getting Dreamweaver 8 to work the
same way as my Dreamweaver MX2004. When I use the file panel in
Dreamweaver 8 to change the name of a file it does not update my
links throughout out site. I have gone to EDIT > PREFERENCE and
made sure that update links when moving files and the Prompt box is
checked.
I have also tried Site > Advanced > Recreate Site Cache
but it's not working.
Can anyone please help. Thank you.

Report portlet update link not working

I have created a report using the "Query by Example (QBE)" method and going through the wizard selected the right options in order to enable users to update and delete records.
I get the values from my table out, but when I try to update (click on the "update" link), the new page that displays does not let me edit any of the values, or put new values next to empty fields. I have given myself "manage" privileges, then also changed that to "execute", but it remains the same. How can one create a report where the fields are updatable? Can this be done? Also, is it possible to change that portlet so the (new) html page size is smaller than the default that comes up?
Any information will be most appreciated.

Updating links

I recently upgraded from MX2004 to DWvr 8, which seems to
have caused a problem when I select "upgrade links" after I open a
custom template and save it as an other-named file in a different
folder where it will live. The result looks like it can't find the
template folder or perhaps the css, but all the templates and
related files are in the same folder I have been using for 3 yrs. I
checked the code against an older MX file, and it's the same.
Thinking I may have somehow messed up my template, I copied my
back-up template into the folder and got the same result. I checked
the preferences, and the update links looked fine there. I checked
both "always" and "none" and got the same result. I am a neophyte
using DWvr but until now haven't encountered an issue that I
haven't been able to troubleshoot. My DWvr "guy" left to finish his
degree. Oh, lucky me! Any pearls of wisdom anyone can share?

That makes no sense and may be the cause of your problems. Is
the renamed
file still a Template file (xxx.dwt)? If so it MUST reside in
the Templates
folder, nowhere else. If it's not a Template than renaming a
Template to
produce it makes no sense.
Probably best if you state your steps with greater
specificity (i.e. include
filenames (before 7 after) and folder names)

Is it possible to force Illustrator to actively update linked files as they are saved in Photoshop? I'd like to place a PSD into AI, for Live Trace, then edit the PSD and see the updated Live Trace without clicking in Illustrator.

I have recently installed DW CS4 for our web designer. I have the update links preference set to prompt. When I moved pdf file to another folder it never asked me to update links. It only said am I sure I wanted to move the file. Should this work when moving a document file?

Yeah, I figured that. I'm trying to come up with the best way for users that uses Contribute. We have multiple folders with PDF's in them. It looks like Contribute only allows you to create one folder and use that folder. Unless you know of a good way Contribute can accomplish this? I would owe you

Adobe Reader XI is missing "check Updates" link on Help menu

On several installations of Adobe Reader, we are missing the check updates link on the Help menu. any help or suggestions on how to fix that?

On Windows this item might be missing for Standard User on XP OS
Also, search Registry for the value named bUpdater in the Adobe Policy hive.
If this value is set to 0, try to delete the value, restart Reader and check the menu.

Indesign 5.5 crash issues when updating links

I am having crash issues when updating links and I don’t know how to trouble shoot the issues.
I have adobe creative suite 5.5 and I am using a third party plug in called wordsflow to allow updating of MS word documents without losing formatting in Indesign.
I have been in contact with the plug creator and they seem to think that the way the indesign importer is handling images is causing the problem.
I am not a particularly experienced Indesign user. How do I go about working out what the issue is?

At first it does appear that the plug in is the problem, however i suspect that the builders of the plugin are correct, in that it is the way in design in handling images in links.
the problem is worse when any image in anchored any where with in the document.
when the updating links screen pops up, the point where it freezes and then indesign crashes is infact on a linked image file consistantly.
broswing other indesign link issues it appears i am not the only person with image link problems.
My question is aside form turning off the plug in, what else can i do to search for the potential issue?
