Updating LM-Tools SP07 Patch 0 to Patch 2

Dear all,
I want to update the LM-Tools for a Netweaver EHP2 from SP07 Patch 0 to Patch 2 but I can´t generate the correct stack.xml file.
When I generate the file in the solution manager the system generates me a stack.xml for Patch 0 not for Patch 2.

If you want to apply only LM tool patch. You can download it from OSS and apply using jspm single patch.
No stak file is required.

We have the solutions tools plugin 2005_1_46c installed on one of our systems at patch level 2.Now we want it to be updated to the latest patch level ie., 8.So can we directly apply the latest patch level or do we need to apply all the patches in a sequential manner.

Patches need to be applied in sequence. As mentioned before always read the prerequisites and the Note related to the patch to be applied.

Error - While Updating Metalink Credentials for Patch Wizard in R12

Error coming while doing : Update Metalink Credentials for Patch Wizard
"Unable to connect to Metalink. Please enter a valid Metalink userid and password. Please also check if the Web Proxy Setup information is correct."
We are not using Proxy Server. When i try to login to Support.oracle.com using same user it works. But throwing error using Patch Wizard. Can anyone tell me that why this error is coming ??

Regarding Backup as it is Application Level patch, is it fine if i take Backup of $ORACLE_HOME for Application Tier ?You will have to take a full backup (which means all the application/database tier files -- i.e. all the directories after you shutdown all the services cleanly).
1. After that I need to 'Enable Maintenance Mode' using adadmin utility
applmgr>$adadmin
2. Source Env file for Application Tier
applmgr>$ . SID_hostname.endYou mean env file.
3. Stop all Application Services
applmgr>$ . adstpall.sh
4. Copy patch to Directory
5. Unzip
6. applmgr>$ cd /u01/patch/10629956
7. After that apply patch using adpatch utility
applmgr>$ adpatch
8. Disable Maintenance Mode
9. Start Application Tier Services
10. Retest Correct.
Can I follow these steps ? Yes.
By default value of parameter "apply" is "y" so does it apply patch intest mode? I nned to specify it to "n" or should i test it first as i m doing this first time. You do not need to test it if you take a backup, and this is a small patch so you should be OK :)
If in case anything goes wrong can I restore my Application Services back using old Oracle_Home backup ?Yes.
Note: Please edit the post before the previous one as it contains the contents of MOS document and this violates Oracle support agreement policy.

Solaris x86 10 u1 (01/06) Update manager showing obsolete patches

I installed 10 u1 (01/06) the other day. I ran the Update Manager and I think there were 8 patches, so I attempted to install them.
Only one of them successfully installed (118966-12), six of them show up in /var/sadm/spool/disallwed_patch_list_report:

So, why do they still show up in Update Manager? Or am I missing something (very possible, I'm not a sysadmin, I use this machine for development).

Now look to file "patchlist.delimited" from /var/sadm/spool/cache/Database/*.zip (this file is downloaded automaticaly and used for analysis) for patch 118844:

Updating db to new Patch level

Good Day
Experts:
Today I wanted to use a development db that had not yet been updated since the latest Patch Level was applied to the Server.
All was going well until the stopwatch down at the bottom of the screen started up. Shortly there after, the following message appeared:
"This entry already exists in the following table "Departments" CUFD
I also received the following message:
"This entry already exists in the following tables " " CUPC
A few days earlier development db's on the same Server were updated.
Has this happened to anyone else? I am not sure what this is/means or how to proceed. Any input/help is appeciated.

i didn't update to patch 43 yet.
quite strange that you mentioned the CUPC Table - its the Upgrade Control table.
maybe some else tested it here ?

Cannot charge the mac book pro after updated with Lion mountain patch.

Yesterday , i updated to Lion mountain patch, I am not sure what the version is. But after that i dont see the laptop is getting charged.My battery completely drained off. I dont know how to resolve this issue.But i am not sure because of the "update" only it happened.Is there any way to charge up the lap ?

Check for update not working for Patch 2???

I am running 1.0.0.14.67. When I run the Check For Update command it says there are no updates available even though Patch 2 is now on the OTN site. Is there anything I can try other than downloading the whole new zip and migrating my install?
Previously I have successfully used the update centre to install new patches for the various extensions, so I don't think it's a problem with my firewall settings.

Ok - one other thing. If you run check for updates, then the front "Help > About " will not change. So this will still show 1.0.0.14.67, but the Extensions tab will change. Can you just confirm that? Check out the screen shot in this FAQ. So the various extensions will show the 15.57 updates if patch 2 is already installed.
As far as I'm aware we do not have the patch set available as a separate bundle. I'll have to wake to for Kris to get in (west coast) before we can check that.

After updating to 2012 f3 patch all built programs crash

I updated to the f3 patch yesterday and now all executables that I've built in 2012 crash without even opening. No error messages at all. Anyone else experiencing this issue on f3 and know of a solution? I've tried installing the 2012f3 runtime but it thinks it's already installed. Thanks.

The runtime engine was broken by the missing files which is why your executables were not able to launch. To clarify how all the LabVIEW Runtime Engines work - each version of the runtime will execute executables built in that version of LabVIEW. For example the LabVIEW 2011 SP1 runtime can still run LabVIEW 2011, and the LabVIEW 2012 f3 runtime can still run LabVIEW 2012 f1 and LabVIEW 2012. However the runtime engine will not run code from other versions of LabVIEW, so the LabVIEW 2012 f3 RTE will not run LabVIEW 2011.
This is why you don't to have multiple runtimes within the same version of LabVIEW (you don't need a LabVIEW 2012 f3 RTE and a f2 RTE for example).

This behavior can happen if the LabVIEW Run Time Engine is in use while the f1 patch is installed and then again when a later patch is installed. The reason this was a problem with the f2 patch was that LabVIEW 2012 ships with the "Variable Web Service" which uses the RTE even if all other applications have been closed. Thus in certain circumstances the f2 patch would remove those two files. We removed the f2 patch from circulation and issued the f3 patch which will restore the missing files (and adds some other fixes). The f3 patch also gets around the variable web service so that the RTE is not in use while the patch is being installed.
You went directly from the f1 patch to the f3 patch, which is entirely fine.
However, you can get into this state if you install a patch while the RTE is in use and then install a second patch to the same version of LabVIEW later while the RTE is again in use. The RTE must be in use during both installations for the files to be removed. This is not new to LabVIEW 2012 and can occur with any version of LabVIEW. Examples of things that use the RTE are the Example Finder, built executables, or certain web services (no web services ship with LabVIEW that are dependent on the RTE)
To prevent this - follow the installer instructions and close down programs that are using the RTE during the patch install process (close down all NI software and any built executables that are running).
If you do experience this - a repair installation of LabVIEW or an installation of a later patch will repopulate the missing files.
Hopefully that clears this up a little bit!

How do you reset the Apple ID to a new one for the automatic updates download tool? It defaults to my old Apple ID, even though I have changed the Apple ID to the new one everywhere I can find.

I have an original Apple ID from my personal iPhone and iPad. I bought a MacBook Pro for business and the Apple Store clerk told me to use the old Apple ID to make setup faster and that I could change to a new one later. So... I did all that and changed the Apple ID everywhere I can find a place to do so. And everything seems okay, except the Automatic Updates download tool defaults back to my original Apple ID. That old Apple ID is grayed out in the login, so I cannot seem to change it to download and update under my new, business-related Apple ID for my MacBook Pro. What to do?

Yes, absolutely, you can still use the old ID to update, etc., but I understood the OP to want to simply discard the old one and use only the new one. Maybe I misunderstood...
And, actually just now re-reading the first post, it could be that the ID had only been associated with the iDevices, so if he established a new ID and associated that with the new MBP, I frankly have no idea if he can still use the old ID on that machine (based on him saying that the old ID is greyed out) - have not come up with this type of situation before.

Update developer tools

How can i update "Developer Tools"?
I need a most recent version of some GNU software (bison and automake, for example), that i had install through DVD's of Mac OS X.

Portal EHP1 SP07 Patch causes app server jcontrol.exe to not start.....

I just finished patching our test portal system.
The database\message server which also has an app server on it starts up and runs just fine. The problem we are having is the second app server which is on a different windows host will not start (jcontrol.exe stays in a gray status).

Thanks for your persistence and for reporting how you eventually solved it. I had precisely the same problem after upgrading our production Portal from 7.00 to 7.01. I didn't have problems in dev or test, because we don't have multiple app servers in those environments, just a central instance. Now it's GoLive weekend and I've been pulling out my hair trying to get the app servers to work after the EHPI process is done. I had to do just what you suggested, about editing the bootstrap configuration manually, as changes in the config tool didn't seem to have any effect on jcontrol. I got that solved using your solution, but that led to nearly the same problem occurring for the individual dispatcher and server nodes, once jcontrol was started. It took a while and lot of experimenting, but eventually I figured out that they were pulling the wrong jdbc driver from their individual configuration.manager properties (accessed via config tool). The central instance was correctly updated by the EHPI program, but not the app servers. Annoying!
Makes me wonder if I was supposed to leave the app servers running during the 'downtime' phase of the EHPI. The manual, and the EHPI program, tell you at the start of the phase "shut down all dialog instances now", but then there's no indication of how these significant changes are supposed to be replicated to the app servers. Several times I nearly escalated to a Very High priority Customer Message, but I kept unraveling the thread until I solved it, and your message here was the clue that put me on the right track.
