Updating Metadata Fails on all collections

I am doing various selections of images, either thru collections, folders, star ratings or whatever and finding a "mixed status" for the metadata. Regardless of the selection, I then click the small button to resolve this and get the message asking if I want to save, I say yes, the process runs and then I get a message say a certain number of images failed to update, Do I want to ignore or show images. While the numer varies from collection selection one to another, within each selection, the number that failed is always the same, maybe 44 out of 231, 4491 out of 4542, etc
I am using Lightroom 2.3 on a vista 64 home premium, quad core 8 GB ram

    alrite. I have made my mistake. I should not jail break my iphone. So if I purchase my apps again from itunes is that mean mean my data will be back?
    I hope you guys can giv me some support here since I am Apple genuine buyer. I could be wrong last time and now I turn over a new leaf and learn a lesson.

  • System Update keeps failing "Package did not download" and does not show all updates

    I recently installed win8 64-bit on my X1 (1294-2PG) using a clean install formatting the hard drive. Now I want to use System Update to install right drivers. Two problems occur:
    System Updates fails to show all the updates available for my PC in the website. Only 2-3 updates are shown.
    System Updates repeatedly fails to download the chosen updates. It seems to download most of the file when the download suddenly halts and I get the message: "1 Package did not download" or 2 or 3 depending on the number of updates.
    I have tried for several days multiple times a day and even uninstalling/reinstalling System Update. The errors keeps occurring.

  • Updating all collection memberships

    In 2007, we could select "Update collection membership" and select to update subcollection membership as well. I have migrated all of our collections to 2012, and the sub-collections are now residing in folders. I can highlight all of the collections
    immediately under "device collections" and update them. But in order to update the collections now in folders, I have to go to each folder and repeat this process. Is there not a way to update all collections like I could in 2007? Thanks

    When you enable the Use incremental updates for this collection option, this configuration might cause evaluation delays when you enable it for many collections. The threshold is about 200 collections.
    We have over 250 collections in our environment right now. So that puts that idea out. Thanks though
    Then, as Jorgen said, updating all of your collections at the same time, is a bad idea from a performance perspective. Also, why not just enable dynamic updates on the collections that actually need to be dynamically updated? I heavily doubt that all of your

    Well i guess is because we all want to get our gadgets updated , which means that we are all trying at the same time. Just give it a little time and it will work , maybe they have just put it out I am waiting for it too , but it says that it can't search for an update right now

    Jeff I've been running into a similar issue like this but with 6.0.5. I had to re-install Premiere for a different reason, then right after the install attempted the update. Failed at that point. Then i downloaded it manually and tried installing but it still failed. It seems, according to the log, that It can't find a certain file, but i'm not sure. Any chance you could help? My latest log is below with errors in red. I posted in the Premiere forum, but no responses yet.

  • Windows 7 X86 Update patch installation failed ("Updateshandler.log - Update execution failed")

    Hi,
    I am using SCCM 2007 R3 at client site, Since from Jan 2015 and for Feb 2015 also i am facing a problem in Windows 7 32bit OS Patch installation failure on Client PC. I am creating a bundle for Windows 7 OS Patch's and targeting these monthly patches to
    windows 7 Collection having X86 and X64 bit OS.
    From All the Deployed Patches only X64 bit Win 7 PC's are getting successfully Update.
    BUT on all X86(32Bit) win 7 OS there was Installation Failed Error. The UPDATES are getting successfully downloaded in CACHE folder on client PC's but while installation they are getting failed. I have tried reinstalling SCCM Client on PC but problem persists.
    Checked number of forum's and done WUA re-installtion  as well, Tried downloading new patches for win7 32 bit and deployed again, but no +ve result. WSUS reconfigured and reinstalled and approved all patches again, again no solution.
    Updates for all other OS's Like Win 8, 8.1 Server 2003,2008 and 2012 for X86 and C64 all working fine.
    Updateshandler.log Giving :---- Update execution failed.
    MP DP and all other roles are working fine with SUP role reinsalled.

    1. We have tried downloading patch again & again . Try to push them trough SCCM targeting win7 collection having x-86 & x-64 bit OS.
    2. Tried manual installation of . Cab files also on 10 win 7 x-86 PC's but all failing with error code.0x800706f7. This code shows The stub received bad data. In both cases (manual & SCCM )
    3. Even tried downloading .MSU files for same KB article that also not getting installed
    4. Monitored Windowsupdate.log & DISM.log & CBS.log
    Handler Fatal: CBS called error with 0x800706f7
    warning exit code=0x00000000; call error code=0x80240022
    5. Tried renaming windir/Softwaredeployment folder to windir/Softwaredeployment.log & run SFC /Scannow
    0x800706F7 -2147023113 RPC_X_Bad_Stub_Data This can occur after a control selfupdate that has not fully completed and requires a reboot. The controls may need to be reregistered.
    This seems related to a problem within Windows, and ConfigMgr is not at fault - Windows has a severe issue which is affecting the servicing stack.

  • Get rid of update metadata arrow

    How did I get rid of the arrow telling to me update metadata. I have write to xmp sidecar turned off, and I don't want to create sidecars, but LR is telling me the files need to be updated. All the metadata is in the db already. I don't need or want sidecars, but the arrows are driving me crazy.
    If I go ahead and make the sidecar for any given file at issue, then go delete the xmp from disk, the arrow goes away and the caption is still there. It's idiotic.

    I'll admit having experienced this "metadata needs updating" mystery prompt, and without other applications having been involved. I'm looking at a collection of 14 DNG files right now that happen to be temporarally "located" in the quick collection. 3 of these 14 are showing a flashing down-arrow, while the harddrive churns in unison. I thought I had previously seen a hover-notice that indicated "metadata needs to be updated", but that little notice isn't working this morning.
    Choosing the option 'Metadata=>Save metadata to file' does not work -- however, choosing "Update DNG preview & metadata' does work. That said, I still have no reason for why only 3 of these 14 showed problems with metadata when nearly all 14 were similarly edited.
    Hmmm(?) ... while I write, thinking I had removed the problem, mysteriously a number (~6) of them have begun flashing their arrow again. I selected all files and then chose to "Sync Metadata" and all is (just as mysteriously) quiet again. I understand "Sync metadata" makes all writable metadata in all files the same, but that was alright for these files.
    Hmmm(?) look at that!! Another has begun flashing again, and now it's quit on it own. Geez Louise! This is a mystery I don't need, and I'll be keeping an eye on this topic.

  • 11.0.4 Updater installation failed - error U44M1P7

    For the benefit of others, I wanted to post the steps that fixed this issue for gbrozk1:
    Open Extension Manager CS5.
    Select Dreamweaver on the left, and then remove the HTML5Pack (11.0.3 Updater) extension.
    Repair the installation of Dreamweaver using your original installation media.
    To do this, insert your original installation DVD, or double-click the downloaded DMG file, and then double-click Set-Up.app to begin the installation.
    When given choices of which products to Install/Re-install, uncheck everything except Dreamweaver. (That is, we need to be sure Dreamweaver is selected to be re-installed. Re-installing repairs the installation.)
    Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the re-install/repair of Dreamweaver.
    Restart your computer.
    Install the 11.0.4 update.

    I have done the following to try and rectitfy the error:

    I am not going to reinstall CS5 because I can't get a fix, I'm not all together sold that THAT would fix the error either...

    As of today, I've had the Adobe Application Updater run 3 times this morning, all with the same result.
    I am on a Mac, 10.7.2 and am running CS5 - Dreamweaver runs fine there are no issues there, I have now 3 Adobe Application Manager updates in my tool bar... As soon as it runs again, I'll have 4...
    Anyone have any answers that DON'T involve reinstalling Dreamweaver?

    The update still failed to install.
    I've also run the MGADiag tool and the Microsoft FixIt windows update (wu) tool.
    I then downloaded the update from the Microsoft Update Catalog http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx
    and copied it to the Windows\CheckSUR\packages folder (after creating the "packages" folder) , and ran the Readiness tool again.
    The update failed to install.
    I ran the readiness tool again. This time the readiness tool found no errors.

    I also recently ran the "automatic troubleshooter" MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.236326420485116200.3.1.Run.exe and still have the problem.
    We're using Windows Vista Business SP2 32 bit upgraded from XP. Antivirus - Bitdefender up to date. Previous antivirus - Avira Antivir and AVG. Firewall - Online Armor. The last successful update installation was Security Update for Office 2003 (KB2726929).
    It and other updates have installed successfully (after the KB2926765 failure) and KB2926765 keeps failing.

    First thing I think would be to do a search for the folder in case it's somehow got moved.
    Failing that, you can retrieve the folder from your original installer disc using Pacifist.
    Insert the disc (don't boot from it) and open the installer package with Pacifist. Navigate to the Desktop Pictures folder (might be a bit more fiddly to find in the package structure). When you find it, select the folder, right-click (or ctrl-click) and select 'install in default location' from the context menu.
    Exit Pacifist and eject the disc.
