Updating my iPad to iOS 6.1.2 now that iOS 6.1.3 update is out
How can I update my iPad to iOS 6.1.2 now that iOS 6.1.3 update is out
You can't. THe time to update to 6.1.2 was before 6.1.3 came out. All you can access is the latest update.

HI
I keep getting the error message "the app cannot be downloaded at this time" when I try to update any of my apps.Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. -
The problem is that im getting an error saying time out!!! and when i start downloading again it starts from zero!!
Their alternative option is for you to bring it into the store
You could google and look for some download helpers (presuming they still exist, haven't used them in years) but they're freeware or adware that caches your download to help you recover from timeouts.
the timeout is possibly caused by your ISP, if they regularly cycle routers or the such it 'burps' your connection causeing it to cut out.
You might try taking your laptop to your local library which may have wifi. Or, as the others have suggested, a friend's house with cable internet. -
Now that iOS is consistently being updated. Will the 1st Generation IPad be stuck with IOS 5? Eventually my IPad will be good for nothing as Apps start requiring the updated software.
The iPad 1 can only be updated to iOS 5.1.1. This is unlikely to change.
The apps you have will continue to work and there are still many apps which run on iOS 5 (or even earlier iOS levels). -
My iPad 2 unable to update to iOS 8. Message reflected that iOS 7.1.2 is the latest. Need help. Thanks

i can`t update my iPAD 2 from version 4.3.5 to iOS 5.1.1???????
If you are on 4.3.5 then you can only update via your computer's iTunes. What happens when you try, do you get any errors, have you got the latest iTunes on your computer ?

I backed up my Iphone to itunes so i can do the new Update to IOs 7 and so now that i updated it i want to backup and restore and its not working, Please help!
An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it. Following is a link with information on how to import the photos to a computer: Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support -
Hi i am trying to update my ipad 2 it is on version 4 and has not had an update since and i donot have the option to update on my device what is the next step i need to take?
See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and what you can upgrade to. If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to connect your device to your computer and open iTunes in order to upgrade.

I am trying to update my ipad 2 but it keeps telling me that it isn't eligible for the requested build how can i fix this problem
This device is not eligible for the requested build (Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194")
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

iPad running slow? How to speed up a slow iPad
http://appletoolbox.com/2012/07/ipad-running-slow-how-to-speed-up-a-slow-ipad/
If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here’s How to Speed It Up
http://osxdaily.com/2013/09/23/ios-7-slow-speed-it-up/
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7-8 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7-8 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I updated my iPad to 8.0.2 and now I'm stuck in waitiIng when trying to update apps. hiw do I fix this?
I Have posted this boilerplate over and over again here. Hopefully something in here will help fix your "waiting" apps issue.
1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.
4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. -
When I go to settings>General, software update is not one of the options. Now what do I do to update my phone?

I use an Iphone 4 which had to be replaced recently. However when i did a backup it was on the new IOS version 7, but now that my phone was replaced and i am back on the old IOS version 6 i how do i restore my backup??
When i try to restore my Back up using Itunes this is the message i get - "Unable to restore backup as the software is old - Please setup as a new device and then try to restore your backup" - Please advise. If i do so are there any chances of loosing my data. At this point in time i would be happy if i could just retreive my contacts list. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

Ipad2 losses cell connection now that iOS 8 was installed. Ios 8.0.2 did NOT correct the issue. Come on and fix this issue!
Hey everyone-
Im in the same boat, started a thread . My hands free system worked fine with iOS 8 out of the box new iphone 6. Did the update this morning and i can stream music perfectly fine however i cannot make or receive calls through hands free system.
I have not tried resetting the settings like most people indicate is working. I feel like I shouldn't have to reset anything, even less mess with settings with an update coming from apple. it should "Just Work"
Some people who reset said it works for a few hours, other say it don't work, and I don't know what I should do.
Car: Hyundai Sonata 2014
NOTE: I was able to replicate the issue in my wifes Hyunday Elentra 2013.
This is how I know its not a defect with the BT in my car.
