Updating - Never but always Publishing?!

Hi,
Can someone please tell me if it is actually a fault in iWeb, that the 'update' feature as such, just doesn't work?
In the help it says that when you 'publish', it will update only the files you have changed since your last publish. I find that any time I make a change, and try to publish, it goes through the whole process of publishing the entire site (2 actually). It goes through every page and uploads it. I would have expected it not to touch any pages except the red ones (that have been changed), and just update these?
Surely this is wrong and I've missed a setting somewhere?
The help file says one thing, and iWeb just simply doesn't do it. If this is the case, it is a MAJOR flaw in the software.
So have I missed something? Please tell me I have

Well I tried with the option key, but it still took ages to update the site. I only changed a paragraph of text and 1 image on a page.
I've got a massive connection here at work, so you wouldn't think bandwidth would be a problem.
Anyway, it came up with "There was an eror publishing to .Mac" . I've tried a few times, but gave up.
Program is unreal for ease of design, just as long as you don't want to use the internet with it

I have this same problem with three machines (all linux - different versions of linux & firefox). Yes, I could do a manual update. But, I would like to get the issue with auto-update sorted out. I have a common network setup: private IP (192.168.15.xxx) on a router connected to COMCAST. There is a firewall but no proxy.

Thanks cor-el! Your question about how it was installed was spot on. It was installed as root (I always do that for an app like Firefox so that it is available to all users. That is also the default when installing apps with yum or other package managers). The solution is to run firefox as root (''kdesu firefox'') so that it has access to the installation folder for writing. I selected Help -> about firefox and it updated right away.
The error for the mozilla people is in not detecting and either handling (asking for root privileges) or reporting the problem instead of hanging up in an infinite loop.

You may get better results if you switch to this alternate version: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and, if needed, reinstall QuickTime. The new (nearly) all 64-bit version doesn't seem to play well with QuickTime. Perhaps if DRM authentication is required QuickTime needs to be able to see something that is part of the older 32-bit code.

I keep getting notified that there is an important update to Firefox that I need to install but when I click on the icon all that happens is a message that I am connecting to the update server but a connection never happens

Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.

WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Did you restore the phone as a new device when you did the restore/unlock, or did you restore it from an existing backup? I have found that when unlocking an iPhone on the AT&T network, you don't get the message that the unlock was successful if you don't restore as a new device. The unlock still works, you just don't get the message. Perhaps it is not carrier specific for this behavior.

Instead of Share to Media Browser, what happens if you try Share Menu > Export Movie... (choose Large size) and save it to the Desktop?
If that fails try Share Menu > Export using QuickTime...
Then pick Movie to QuickTime Movie, then click on Options... which is just to the right of Export
Under the Video section click on Settings...
Then in the pulldown menu at the top, titled Compression Type: Choose Apple Intermediate Codec. Then click OK. And click OK again, and save it to the desktop. Once the .mov file is created, you can import that into iDVD and most likely it will work in Wondershare Creator if you prefer to use that instead.

You can't if your iPhone was hacked/jailbroken to unlock.

You can try putting the iPod into DFU mode and see if that will let you restore and remove the jailbreak:

Some jailbreaks cannot be removed and in some cases will permanently disable your iPod. If that happens to you, then you will have to buy a new iPod; Apple will provide no support, warranty or out-of-warranty, for a jailbroken iPod.
