Presumably you are referring to FOTA feature for which ironically it seems that more S60 3rd edition devices (Non-Feature Pack 1) were supported and actually used this feature than the actual FP1 devices themselves. Think of the N80, N80IE and N73, all supporting and even frequently updating via FOTA.
Nokia then seemed to be making a new attempt at using FOTA by releasing the FOTA-only software version 11.043 for the FP2-based N78 and of course now for N96.

Migrating from 10.3 to 11.3 without using device manager

Is it possible to sync a 10.3 Android client againts a 11.3 mobile server? The reason I ask is because we do not use Device manager to handle updates on the client. The client syncs and will be notified through the database if there is a pending install.
When we try to sync the 10.3 client with MS 11.3, we get a HTTP 404. After debugging we find that the URL the 10.3 client tries to connect to <servername>:<port#>/webtogo/public/Consolidator. When we try the 11.3 client, it connects to <servername>:<port#>/mobile/Consolidator (and syncs fine)
I have tried to have Glassfish forward the old URL to the new one, but it fails with a "ERR_CREDENTIALS: Failed to get credentials from the server"

Is this possible at all? All we need is a single sync to go through to the server in order to download and install the latest client. We have 400 clients throughout the country, so manual install is nearly impossible.

The webtogo was dropped in 11.x. so the URL has changed. This is one of those situations which needs to be handled by support. Have you filed a request with support yet?

9.2.0 Upgrade (CPSID_50026) "Files in Use" - "Some files that need to be updated are currently in use" "Program Manager"

I have no other applications open, when I try to update with 9.2.0, but I receive subject error message. Task Manager shows NO Image Name called "Program Manager". There is nothing else running, that is obvious to shut down. Any suggestions, Please?

Have these posted suggestions worked for anyone? I have been using the same installation files on several different machines. Most machines upgrade just fine but, I have a few that receive this error and I cannot seem to get past it: "Some files that need to be updated are currently in use" "Program Manager" is the program that the installer is complaining about. Does anyone know what program "Program Manager" is? I'm assuming it is an Adobe file but, why would it interfere with one of my installations and not all of them?
I'm using the same installation files for all installs so, I don't believe that it could be my downloaded installation setup files.

Software update NOKIA N95 8Gb

Trying to update my NOKIA N95 8G with Nokia OVI suite because Nokia PC suite doesn;t offer software update anymore. Getting the well known error : 12017 . I looked up forums and saw all kind of solutions , turning off Internet Connection Sharing ( ICS ) i checked on my XP sp3 in Computer Management > Services ... no ICS there. ok! I tried another solution , installed Beta Nokia Updater... but that software founds no UPDATE! OK! my last wish is to RESOFT at least my phone... is that possible ? I dont need a update ... only re-soft!
Please , anyone can try helping me ?

having the exact same problem with my e71. running Vista Sp2. updated to new PC Suite/NSU, it recognizes my phone but then fails once it tries to update firmware to 300.21.012.
i've seen a variety of solutions online and none have worked. among them:
restarting computer
restarting phone
selecting "general" profile (or "normal" on e71)
turn off Internet Connection Sharing
run NSU in Compatibility Mode
turn off Aero Glass
make IE default browser
disable antivirus software
disable firewall
disable Offline Mode in IE
quit all other running apps
shut down all Nokia apps, plug in phone, THEN start NSU
that's all i can remember. anyway, none of it has worked. also saw a post that maybe Nokia's servers are just down.
any thoughts?

Browser Encoding problem after update Nokia N95 8G...

I installed the software update for my phone Nokia N95 8GB, every thing goes fine, after completing the update I am not able to browse any arabic web page ( it is unreadable ) even if you change the default encoding to all possible values, does any one has an answer to this problem

How to globally set WiFi to use device management identity certificate for all users?

I'm using Apple's Profile Management service in Mountain Lion, and discovered through serendipity that an enrolled device can authenticate on EAP-TLS to our WPA2-Enterprise Wifi using the Device Managment Identity Certificate instead of an individually-generated-for-user x509 cert. This is extremely convenient, because then we can effectively revoke a device's cert by unenrolling the device.
However, I haven't been able to figure out how to make WiFi always designate EAP-TLS and select the Device Management Identity Certificate globally (whether through /usr/bin/networksetup or through the Profile Manager).
Does anybody have any pointers on how to do this? My goal is to have an OS X >= 10.7 machine at a network login prompt capable of logging into the machine, authenticated against the Open Directory server the machine is already bound to. At present a wireless user cannot do this, as the machine's Wifi preferences haven't yet been set to use the aforementioned device management cert.

There is what appears to be some type of conflict or issue that several of us are having after updating our phones, it involves connectivity to WLAN. After doing the update we are unable to connect and it appears there is some type of program trying to install every time you start/power up the phone. i use N73 ME and i updated my phone to the latest firmware, i too faced the same problem when i switch ON the phone phone was trying to install an application failing to do throwed this message "untrusted application found on the memory card go to app manager to install it" actually it was a ZIP format provided i didnt install ZIP manager in the phone
Finally i went back to sterotype method of RESET *#7370# and found to be fruitful the app was not in the APP manager try this
ALL THE BEST think will come fruitful to UUUUUUUUUU

I have checked it through the phone code and it replies as below.

Device Manager is blank

Everything started when I tried to use a Huawei EC168 USB Stick to connect to the Internet. When it installs the program used to run this device into the computer, and tries to install the drivers for this purpose it installs everything but what I suppose is a driver named Data Interface. Then I figured this could be solved by using Device Manager, but to my surprise it appears to be blank. I have tried uninstalling everything and installing it again (even by making a System Restore), I've tried updating my computer, I tried solving it through "regedt32" and so on. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi Friend! I have never seen that before. I'm sorry, but I don't have any more suggestions for you. The only suggestion I have is restore back to factory. There may be more replies. I'm totally amazed. How can this be?? Could this be a Virus?? I don't know. A restore back to factory should get rid of a virus and give you a clean start. Save your important data on a external USB. I'm a little disturbed my self. I registered here to help owners of Toshiba lap tops and it seems that I have been left to answer all the messages with very little help and that is up setting. I just received a another promotion and that is a good thing????? I think ???I rely on what my inner self is telling me to reply. Some times I get it right. Some times I get it wrong. I'm thinking that I have probably forgot as much as I know and what I have learned. Your problem is some thing I have never encountered. Thank you for your reply and your feed back. Ipod classic 7 gen, windows 7 32bit won't install usb driver. in device manager, exclaimation mark under other devices, it says no driver loaded.

I have uninstalled any programs that looked starge or might be causing conflict.
uninstalled everythign to do with itunes or apple, rebnooting and diong a fresh install.
my older ipod works fine.
updated intel usb chipset drivers.
i have tried any instructinos i can find online.
I tried updating the "ipod" driver in device manager, I point it to c:\windows\system32
it gives me a starge message saying it can't install the mass storage device, somethign is wrong . . . .

Hello - since configuring a Windows Web Server 2008 R2 x64 to be hardened for an internet-facing deployment I receive this:
"Device Manager is running in read-only mode because you are running it on a remote computer."
when entering Device Manager.
I have tried reversing the changes I have made, such as:
- Re-adding Client for Microsoft Networks
- Re-enabling NetBIOS over TCP-IP
- Re-adding File and Printer Sharing
- Disabling the Windows Firewall in all profiles (public, domain, private)
I get no joy. It looks like a Microsoft ballsup. I'll try and use Process Monitor to have a look. Google returns only 1 page for this error.

Got it.
After my changes to DHCP and static IPs the machine picked up the IP address of another server on my little home LAN. The hostname in IPCONFIG was different to the actual server computer name and so this led Device Manager to think the connection and the
local machine were different.
What an odd and infuriating problem. My thoughts on this are that Microsoft should be more verbose with error messages and their causes. For example, displaying the values of the assertion would help diagnose a problem; "The host-name www02.farm.brand.com
that you are connecting from does not match the local host-name rest01.dev.farm.brand.com. Connections from remote computers can only use Device Manager in read-only mode; some options will be disabled."
When troubleshooting, the main thing on an engineer's mind is "what has led Windows to its [unexpected] conclusion?"

IPAD 1 problems after ios 5.1.1 update, itunes does not recognize IPAD.. I check the device manager, it identifies an unknown device (My ipad) but unable to use it.

I am using the generation 1 IPAD.
I recently updated my ios from ios 4 to ios 5.1.1, I did the restore after the update and all seemed fine as it was detected the first time.
I tried connecting the IPAD again but it shows that the computer, itunes is not able to detect the IPAD.
I checked on the device manager, it identifies an unknown device (IPAD) and says no software for the driver. I am using windows 7 on my laptop. I never had any such problem with the iso 4. Any suggestions as to how this can be solved?

Thank you, I tried uninstalling the device driver to reinstall again. After doing the scan for hardware changes, nothing flashes on the device manager. I dont see anything related to the IPAD or any other device for which driver shows unidentified device. It is as though the device is not being seen by the computer at all..
I even tried flashing the home/sleep buttons together but that doesnt seem to identify any device either.
Anything else I am missing?
