Updating of contacts in SIM card

When we purchased a new iPhone, it does not contain any new entries in the contact so we can copy all the entries over from the SIM card. If there is an update to the existing contact (e.g. new mobile number) and we have made the changes, is there a way to sync the changes to the SIM card as well?

And doing so is very limited, which can include a name, a couple of phone numbers, and maybe an email address for each contact. The iPhone supports entering a home and business physical address, company name and title, multiple phone numbers and email addresses, instant messaging addresses, birthday, anniversary, and a notes section. Can't store all this for a contact on a SIM card.
And if your phone is lost or stolen, what difference would this make? NONE.
Your contacts should be available with an address book on your computer regardless if you have an iPhone or any cell phone.
The iPhone is designed to be synced with a supported address book application on your computer and since you are already using iTunes anyway, you might as well include syncing contacts with the sync process and be confident your contacts are also available on your computer in the event your iPhone is lost or stolen.

  • Syncing contacts from sim card & merging with outlook

New phone - contacts from sim card were added to iphone. I do not have these in outlook but do have a few other "contacts" in outlook. I would like to keep all of the contacts on the phone and added to outlook. Will I lose my sim phone contacts because outlook contacts will be added to phone?

If you have contact entries on the iphone and the computer to which you are syncing, then you should be able to merge the two when you sync.

i try to import  contact from sim card, but could not do, can any one help?

Either the contacts were not actually stored on the SIM, the SIM memory is defective, or they are in a format not useable by the iPhone.
Go to one of your carrier's stores. Most carriers have equipment that can do this, see if they can extract them for you.

Having set up the account in itunes and syncing finished, I can't find the contacts in my iphone under 'contacts' or 'phone', why?

Iphone does not save to the SIM card.
If you have another SIM card that has contacts on it, then use the direction in the manual under settings to import them into the iphone:
Import contacts from a SIM: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars,” then tap Import SIM
    Contacts.
The contact information on the SIM is imported to iPhone. If you have Contacts
enabled for both MobileMe and Microsoft Exchange, you’re prompted to choose which
account you want to add the SIM contacts to."

  • How to copyi all phone contacts to SIM card

Hello, I'm using this really bad network on my blackberry and it's really hard getting any good data service off it. As you'd imagine I wanna change to a better network. I was hoping I could copy all my contacts (they're less than 150) onto the sim memory before changing SIM cards, any ideas how it's done on a blackberry q10 device?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello,
Using the SIM as a method of contact list saving is not a good idea IMHO. The BB contact list is robust (multiple phone numbers per person) where the SIM address book is weak (one name and one number only). So, even if you accomplished it, you'd wind up with a mess -- John Smith on your BB has 3 phone numbers...once you use the SIM, he has 3 completely separate entries, one for each of those 3 numbers. Not good.
So, the question comes, what is your actual desire here? Do you wish to migrate your contact data to a different device? Is that other device a BB or something else? Do you have your contacts "in the cloud", so that you can use that as the medium for transfer? Do you have your BB synchronizing with Outlook via LINK? If so, then that could be your method.
More questions than answers, I fear...so we await your reply.

  • Nokia 3110c does not save contacts on SIM card

    Hello,
I just bought a nokia 3110c. It apparently have the most recent uptodate software (05.50) and the update check says it is up-to-date.
    I found this strange bug:
I create a new contact in the address book and save it into my SIM card (a 128KB sim card by Italian provider TIM).
    The contact is there.
Now when I turn off the phone, and then I turn it on again, the last contact I inserted is gone, disappeared.
It happens only with the LAST contact I saved, that is if I create -lets say- 3 new contacts, the first 2 will be maintained while the last one will be lost after I turn off and then on again the phone.
It behaves the same also if I first save the contact into the phone memory and the MOVE it into the SIM card memory.
Have you verified this same bug?
    Thank you

  • Contact and sim card

    Hi
i have 250 sim contacts and 450 contacts on my e51. I want to do a sim card back up. How can i see which of my contacts are also sim contacts?
    Regards

It sounds as if your iPhone was previously hacked/modified/jailbroken
to work with other than the carrier to which it was locked. When you
updated, the iPhone got relocked to the original carrier. Contact
the original wireless provider as only they can unlock the iPhone
if they offer that service and if you qualify.
What does it say when you look at Setting=>General=>Carrier?
Is that the name of your wireless provider?
Remove and reset your SIM. Contact your provider for assistance.
Google may provide answers, but it is also possible that the
previous modification to your iPhone has now rendered it a brick.

  • Importing contacts from sim card

I just got a Blackberry 8700.  I loaded my sim card that has all my contacts into it and fired up the phone.  I followed the instructions to load the contacts to the address book but I cant get it to work. The instructions say to go to the address book, click the track wheel and then go to SIM phone book.  Well I dont have the SIM phone book option for some reason.  Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Will

OK, do this, in your Address Book... create a new contact, if even yourself. And save.
Now, go back in the Address Book, scroll over your contact, click once and do you see different options?

  • How to store phone contacts to sim card on the BB 8900?

I need to know how to store my contacts stored on my 8900 phone to the sim card, as I cannot find an option to do it. Even when I use the desktop manager, I can only recover the contacts to be stored on my phone and not my sim card.
    Thanks

    Hi there!
I'm a little confused now as to what you desire...the two sentences in your post seem a little bit contradictory. Are you asking how to store your contacts on your SIM? Or are you asking how to backup the contacts that are already stored on your SIM?
    Thanks!

  • HT2188 i have iphone 3 and when i updated the software my sim card as stopped working, pls what can i do

i just updated my iphone_3, and my sim card has stopped working, i tried to restore and it kept coming back with erorr mrssage, what can i do

An iPhone 3G cannot be updated to 5.1.1; the last version supported is 4.2.1. So if you managed to get 5.1.1 on it through some means that bypasses Apple's protections you have wiped out your phone.

  • Can't get my contacts from SIM card?

I have taken my SIM card out of a really old  Samsung and cut it down, put it in my iPhone 4s it works but have no contacts....? How do I get them?

IF the Samsung actually stored the contacts on the SIM, and you didn't damage the SIM when cutting it:
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Import SIM Contacts.

  • Synchronising phone contacts and SIM card contacts

    I have a 5300 music express.
Incoming calls or missed calls from contacts recorded on the SIM card are displayed as "no Number".
Unknown calls display the number, and it displays the name for contacts recorded on the phone.
How do I get the phone to stop displaying "No number" for the SIM card contacts?
    regards
    Will

I think that you misunderstood, none of the contacts are synced with Google and only one is stored on the sim card. The contacts were imported from Backup Assistant when I got the new phone.
