Updating OS4.3 for iPad is error -3259 Please help!!
I have been trying multiple times to update my iPad's OS from 4.2.1 to 4.3 but could not success. always got error -3259. Please help
Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com, or due to your Internet proxy settings.

I have recently downloaded the new itunes for windows vista. I purchased some songs but, can't get them to download. A window pops up and says "network connection timed out". I have tried to disable the firewall and nothing still works. Please help. I dont know alot about this stuff. Email- [email protected]
thank you for anything you can assist with.First try downloading things one at a time:
1) Open iTunes.
2) From the Store pull-down menu at the top, choose Check for Purchases.
3) Enter your account name and password, then click Check. Your purchases should begin downloading.
4) Under the STORE section on the left, click Downloads.
5) Click the Pause All button in the lower-right corner. This will temporarily pause all of your downloads.
6) To resume only one of the downloads, click the refresh button that appears to the right of one of the paused downloads.
If that doesn't help, it's likely some software on your computer that's interfering with iTunes. Try disabling your anti-virus, firewall, or web accelerator programs and attempt downloading again. -
Cannot update to iTunes 8.2 - get error message, please help???
I have Windows Vista. When I try to update to iTunes 8.2 (which I need for the new iPhone 3Gs I bought yesterday), I get this error message:
"Errors Occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose 'Tools > Download Only' and try installing manually"
I've read a lot of the posts and tried 'repairing' the Apple Software Updater, and that doesn't work.
Can someone point me in the right direction?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!I am in the same boat.
I originally had the same error. So I tried the following unsuccessfully:
- Download Only, several times and on 2 different computers, one with XP and one with Vista o/s
- Downloading from the Apple site, several times over the last 3-4 days and each time it gets to a different % downloaded and then stops and after a while returns an error.
- I've tried uninstalling iTunes and Quicktime
- I've tried clear the cache, delete all cookies etc.
I upgraded my phone using a friends computer and now I can't connect to iTunes at all as it is not compatible (and the computer I uninstalled it from I can't download it to reinstall.
Not sure what else to try. A friend warned me that iTunes was problematic and frustrating to use, but I bought an iPhone anyway and now understand what they mean! -
4 Gig Nano not updating/Cant write to this disk error. Please Help!
Hi. I have a Ipod Nano 4g. (actually my husbands.. but anyway) he will load it to his computer and it starts updating, recognizes it.. everything looks perfect then after about 4 songs sometimes 3 or 8.. but generally within minutes it stops updating and says "cant read or write to this disk" something like that. The restoring didnt help.
Its a desktop computer with XP on it.. any suggestions?just checking. have you worked through the possibilities from this document?

Will there be an update in Pages for ipad that will allow for sub scripts and superscripts
I am a chemistry professor who loves to work on the ipad. The problem I have is that the mathematics I use and chemical equations is use in my writings need both super scripts and subscripts. I would love to use my ipad for this, but presently, the only way I can do this is with a third party app that allows me to create the formulas and the paste them in the document I am working on. Will there be an update to Pages for ipad that will allow subscripts and super scripts. I would love to move away from my Office 2010, but the support is not there yet.

If that doesn't help, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Now here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
com.apple.appstore.plist
com.apple.storeagent.pllist
Now here:
~/Library/Cookies
Click Go
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, try the App Store. -
After the IOS7 update, i can no longer use my imessage and facetime. It says "waiting for activation" and tried to log in on my apple id but it turned out to connection error. Please help me guys! Thank you.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

Thanks for the update and clarification. In researching the issue it seems that the 2003 error code may have something to do with the USB connection. I would use this section of one of the above articles:
Get help with iOS update and restore errors
If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you might not be able to update or restore.
To narrow down the issue, you can try different equipment:
Use the USB cable that came with your device, or a different Apple USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port directly on your computer. Don't plug it into your keyboard.
Try a different computer.
Solve other issues with the USB connection, then with your security software.
If you still see the error message, check for hardware issues by following the next section.

Related errors: 1, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't blocking your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.

The ONLY thing we can advise you to do is try putting the phone in DFU mode (google for instructions) and restore it.
