Updating preferences in ID cc not saving

I'm using InDesign CC - saved and re-saved my preferences but still will not default to inches when I creat a new doc. Still shows up as pics. Why??

I'm using InDesign CS6 [but not on the Cloud]. During the past month or so, my Units & Increments preferences have changed from Inches to Picas over a dozen times. I close all documents, open Preferences and choose Inches. Then create new document...Repeatedly...Over and over. Preferences show as Inches for a day or two, but then revert to Picas.
Also, my Workspace constantly reverts to Essentials. But, I have custom Workspace saved and have to constantly choose my custom Workspace to see the tools configuration I've used for over 5 years.

POI Information Updates when Costing Changes are not Saved

Hi All,
When you go to the costing screen of a party in Oracle HRMS, make changes to the costing string (Cost Allocation Flexfield) and not save them. Then, exit from the costing form and go to the Purchase Order Information (POI) screen and press Ctrl+F11, the POI information updates to the new changes. It was my understanding that in order for the purchase order info to be updated you need to make changes or "touch" the costing screen and save. I have noticed that the purchase order changes after being in the costing screen even without saving anything. Was this intend?

The Changes on the Assignment reflect because of the changes on the Costing Screen. This is due to the custom.pll implementation. Is there an event name that I can use for the Assignment form such that the changes on the Assignment screen show up only after the changes are SAVED on the Costing Screen. Its the custom package that actually populates the changes in Costing Screen onto the Assignment Screen, but I want to activate this only when I save the changes on the Costing Screen. Right now the changes are seen on Assignment Screen when I hit CTRL=F11 even when I don's save the Costing Screen changes.

Notify preferences in Monitor are not saving

I just set up the latest 7.1 Beta - Monitor agent and application on a
SLES9.3 box. It's the only GW piece that is running on this box.
When I try to set up preferences for notification and click Submit, it isn't
saving.

Okay - I think I'm good now. I had to manually edit the monitor.xml file
and set up all of my preferences -as Danita described in another post as a
bug.
I couldn't just restart the monitor agent, however. I had to reboot my
server, manually run my ncpmount statement then run the grpwise-ma script.
If I could ever figure out how to write a script and where to put the script
for the ncpmount I'd be in great shape. :)

Update/Edit Pop-Up Menu Not Saving

Hi All
First time here...
Is anyone else having trouble updating/editing pop-up menus on slices? I seem to be able to add only one new menu item at a time. If I add more, it doesn't save the changes. Now I'm trying to go back and change a link on one of the menu items and it doesn't remember it at all.
I'm fairly new to Fireworks but this isn't giving me a whole load of confidence in it...
Any ideas? Known bug?

What version of Fireworks are you using?
If you're building pop up menus for a real site, The FW ones are the worst option to use (even if they are working) because they are a PITA to maintain after the fact. As of CS4, Dreamweaver doesn't even support native editing of the menus, so you have to go back to FW (or dive into the code itself) to make changes.

Preferences and quick tools not saved

How can I get Acrobat X Pro to save the preferences and quick tools after being closed? The quick tools that I've added remain in the registry file. It's almost like there is some other registry file that the software is using.

Preferences Not Saved...

When I create new playlists and try to enable them to be sent to my iPod under iPod Preferences, I get a message "Preferences were not saved for the iPod because they could not be found." Then when I Eject the iPod in iTunes, my iPod stays in "Updating" condition, even though it's icon is no longer on my desktop. I have to manually reboot the iPod!
Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like your iTunes preferences file is corrupted. Try closing down iTunes, disconnecting your iPod, and removing all of the itunes plist files (look in ~/Library/Preferences) and put them on the desktop. Relaunch iTunes and reconnect your iPod.
You'll probably need to reset all of your preferences, since they will go back to the default settings on relaunch, but the prefs should now "stick."

Yosemite Mail preferences are not saved

Hello,
I just update my Yosemite to 10.10.3.
After some problems with Mail, I've been forced to delete container files and enveloppe index file, all is better except that now mail doesn't saved preferences anymore..
Also, the windows positions are not saved as well...
Last information: ON my preferences folder, I got only com.apple.mail-shared.plist file, but no com.apple.mail.plist file... Doesn't now if it's normal or not..

No, not in Yosemite.
Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore is not, in itself, a solution.
First, empty the Trash, if possible.

HT4489 Ever since the last update IOS5.1.1, calendar entries are not saved on Icloud, and would not sync on all I clould devices

After the last update of IOS5.1.1, all caledar entries are not saved on Icloud and thus not synced on all my Icloud devices, even though, spreadsheets are synced, photostream is working and contacts is syncing, only calendar items. Anybody has the same problem? Or a solution to this kind or problem?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

Bulk save as psd file not saved with Maximize Compatibility selected in preference

I want to do a "bulk save as" for psd files that were not saved with Maximize File Compatibility selected in Preferences. I'm trying to import those files into LR5 but I get an error message. Or is there a work around for resolving this issue? I have both PS CS6 and PS CC. Also Bridge for both. I've just subscribed to LR5.

LR does not support Layers, PSD files may have layers so you may have a problem using LR to do what you want to do.
Set your Photoshop Preferences to always save with Max Compatibility.
Record a save action one step menu File>save.
Then use Adobe Bridge menu Edit>Find to find all your PSD files.
Then select all and use menu Tools>Photoshop>Batch and if your lucky and don't catch an Adobe Bug Photoshop will start and the Batch dialog will open, You can the set the Save Action Set and the Save Action all the PSD selected in the Bridge should open and saved.
I cancelled the search short here the search for all psd files could take a very long time and did not run the batch.
You will have a better chance not catching an Adobe bug if Photoshop is not up and running when you use the here. Bridge may try to start a different version of Photoshop then the one running when you use menu tools>Photoshop>Batch. Bridge CC was updated to start CC 2014 there is no bridge CC 2014.
This site scale image poorly you can scale them if you view them in a new tab or window.

JDeveloper 11g Not saving preferences

Hi.
I'm not beeing able to save my IDE preferences. For example, by default the option Line Gutter - Show Line Numbers, is not checked. If I check this option, and click ok, when I open the preferences again, the option is not checked.
This is happening for any option I change, another example is the option JSP and HTML Visual Editor - Show design time messages in log. I cannot set this property.
Any idea on how to fix this ?

This led me to think that my proxy configuration was wrong. Went to the proxy configuration option, and I noticed that "Proxy server requires authentication" was checked, but my user and password were null. I filled these fields and clicked test Proxy. Got the same stackTrace, and after clicking ok, returning to the prferences dialog box, the user and password was not saved. What I did was, wen to the Check for updates under the help menu, and when it tried to connect, it couldn't because there were no user and password information saved. It showed me a dialog to put the user and password. After I've filled these fields, it did connect to Oracle update site. Closed that window, and went back to the preferences dialog. Then the user and password were saved correctly. Clicking on the test Proxy button, did not give me any stackTrace. Tried to change the Line Gutter setting, clicked ok, and the re-opened the preferences dailog. The properties was saved correctly.

iTunes preferences not saved when logging out. Using iTunes11.0.4.4 Preferences are not saved when logging back in. Is this a bug or is there a file or registry key I need to fix?

If you used Mac's automatic Software Update... to get to 10.5.1, try this:
• Repair permissions.
• Download and install the Mac OS X 10.5.1 Update.
• Repair permissions again after the restart that completes the install.
• Test to see if problem is still there.
If problem exists, try suggestions relevant to your system from Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight.

Just updated - Prefs not saved - None of the posted solutions work

I just updated to 3.6.8 and found that the prefs are not saved. I cannot apply any themes and the "Firefox Updated" tab won't go away, I tried all the solutions presented here http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Preferences+are+not+saved and none worked.
- I have Macaffe and it was set properly
-The user.js file is completely empty
- prefs.js and prefs-n.js do not exit in the directory
Unfortunately, nothing worked. Any thoughts short of doing a complete uninstall?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems

Energy Saver Preferences not saving

Hello!
The title of the question says it all. No matter what I select in "energy saver" preferences, the settings are *not* being saved, and revert to putting the computer to sleep after 10 minutes (?!) and the display to sleep after 5 minutes. (These settings are useless for my usage.)
I have Googled the problem, and even searched this forum. I have tried everything people have suggested, and still the settings don't save.
I've moved the .plist file out of the folder.
I've deleted the .plist file
I've even changed the file permissions to "read-only" for System, Wheel and Everyone.
Still the settings revert.. What could possibly be interfering with my settings? I only install software from the AppStore and an occasional game from "BigFish Games" game manager, I have never installed anything like "CleanMyMac" or anything like that.
Any help would be *greatly* appreciated!

I upgraded to Yosemite today, and am enjoying the update so far.
However, with regards to this thread, the problem persists. Every single time I restart, the energy settings revert to putting the computer to sleep after 10 minutes and the display to sleep after 5 minutes..
Ridiculous!! A whole version upgrade and this simple little problem remains unfixed. Sigh. Maybe on my next day off I'll take the time to totally erase & reinstall Yosemite -- maybe then it'll finally work as it's supposed to.

Downloads of updates not saving, no prompts or icons in the Application folder-how do I ensure updates are saved?

I am following the instructions to download v 6 but receive no prompt to move the Firefox icon to the applications folder. I have done that anyway, but it's not saving-the latest version is July 11. I then get reminders to update all the time-what am I doing wrong?

A lot of people panic when they see Photoshop displaying differently from other software. But that's normal and expected. Here's what happens:
1. Photoshop is color managed and performs a document profile > monitor profile conversion when it displays. So whatever the document profile is, Photoshop will display correctly - unless you have CM policies set to "off" (...!)
2. Other applications, including many web browsers, aren't color managed and will just send the file numbers directly to the display. This distinction is extremely important, because there will be a slight difference. Again, that's normal. Photoshop is right and the other apps are wrong.
3. Without color management, it all hangs on how your monitor displays color. Most monitors are so close to sRGB that any sRGB file will display roughly correctly. This is why sRGB is the de facto web standard: it can live without color management. And that's why you should always convert web material to sRGB. Yes, that's the Edit > Convert to Profile option. You can also use Save For Web to do this if you check the appropriate boxes.

Desktop setting not saving after system update

I did a system wide update including the changing the kernel from 2.6.25 to 2.6.28 and now I cannot change my desktop setting.
that is, my desktop background picture and font size is not saving. First I could not shutdown and i read the forum where
it was suggested to downgrade from hal-0.5.11-7 to hal-0.5.11-4. and that work for me. but my system
not saving my desktop setting. I have the "automatically save session on logout" check.
I am using xfce4 as my DM

check your home folder permissions. open up your /home/ right click on your username folder click properties and in permissions dialog check that owner can view/edit files and then check something like apply to all subfolders and files
