Updating Price in previous period - Material master

Experts,
I create a new material and want to update the price in previous period. I update successfully through MR21. when i check material master price is shown only in previous period(May) and its howing current period price is ZERO.
Is it possible to bring the previous price to current price tab automatically?
R.S

Hi,
You may check in OMRN and set column price carried over.
In the case of a price change in the previous period or in the previous year, you must define whether the change also applies to the current period. You have two options:
The price change applies only in the previous period or previous year and does not affect the current period.
The price change also applies to the current period; the price in the current period is thus also changed automatically.
Activities
If you want price changes in the previous period or previous year to also change the price in the current period, select column
Price carried over.
Thanks and regards,
Polly

  • PuP price not changed in Material master

    Hello All experts
I have one question about the material ledger related transaciton, I have a Material with 2+V (price deter. and price control) setting in Material master data in Accounting 1 TAB. And material ledger is active for this material, the Periodic Unit price is 1 USD in current period and stock is 0.
One PO posted for this Material for purchase with actual price 100 USD, and 101 movement type with special stock indicator E was used in Goods receipt posting. I think these stock will be treated as valuated sales order stock. But GR posting didn't trigger any PuP price change in Material master. Is that situation normal? Pls kindly help.

With price control V in activity-based material price determination (indicator2 in the material master), the moving average price is calculated. With price control S, the material is valuated with the standard price and the moving average price is calculated for information purposes.
In single-/multi-level material price determination(indicator 3 in the material master), the valuation price (standard price) remains unchanged and a periodic unit price is calculated for the closed period.
This option is only for materials with price control indicator S,and is only recommended if in addition to multiple currencies and/or valuations, you use single-/multi-level material price determination.
In single-/multi-level material price determination, a periodic unit price is updated for information, but it can only be used for material valuation in the closed period.

  • Updation of Consumption values in material master

    Dear Experts,
    For a FERT ,
When I use strategy 40 , Consumption values ( PGI - Deliveries )are getting updated in MM02 in Forecast view.
    whereas,
When I use strategy 50 , Consumption values are not getting updated in MM02 in Forecast view.
Is there any setting to control this updation of Consumption values in Material Master ?
    Regards,
    Sheik

    Hi,
Update of consumption is based on movement type, and you can decide which movement types should have or have not consumption updating.
Check in transaction OMJJ if the movement types in question have indicator "Consumption posting" (field V_156_VC-KZVBU) as marked.
If it is the case, consumption is updated, opposite for un-ticked.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks.

  • Price unit field in material master

    Hi all,
Could you please tell me the use of price unit field in accounting view of material master? I know that it is the unit in terms of which standard price is maintained in material master. I also know that it should be equal or less than costing lot size. But i wanted to know if there is any other impact/use of this field like impact on per unit price etc.
    Regards
    Suresh

    Hi
    You have understood it correct...
Just to add one more point, SAP recommends Price Unit to be higher i.e. 100 or 1000 in order to avoid rounding differences in Product Costing, variance calculation

  • Update of cost in the material master

    Hi all,
From the purchasing point of view,In the normal process Cost in the Material master gets updated from purchasing documnents automatically. In this case, manually if the cost is changed in the purchase order affects the cost in the material master. My requirement is this should be done automatically after receiving the vendors confirmation of list of material costs. There may be chance of change in the cost of the materials.so the costs of the materials which were changed should get updated in the material master automatically(VPRS).
Ie changing of the costs of the materials in the purchase order should be reduced .How this will done??
If we have more than 2000 line items in the purchase order,it will be quite little bit difficult to update each material cost in the purchase order .
    Thanks in advance..
    Regards...VM

    Hi,
Normally material will be valuated with two types of price controls S -standard price and V-moving avaerage price.
A std price as its name indicated it is std and will not chnage.
A moving average price will chnage accordingly with the change in the material price.
Normally it will be better create a info record for the material and vendor combination for the plant or purchase organisation with a info update indicator in the purchase order will serve your pupose .
With the proper settings at SPRO system creates info record during creation of PO if it does not exist or updates the existing record if it has one with the latest price details in the form of last purchasing document so that these details get defaulted during creation of PO.
However you can create a outline aggrement so that a PO can be created with reference to that.
Or you can create a condition record for the price for your combination so that it can get defaulted.
The price which is there in PO will not be defaulted to material master.
Or time to time you can review the prices and maintain via MR21.

    Hi dudes,
I want to update 1 field for the huge list of  material master record, i.e., statistics field in sales org 2 tab.
    please help
    regards,
    madhav

SAP has designed its system to use the standard transaction way to update any fields, no direct table update should be made.
I have seen so many direct table updates in my career, and what do you think why I have get knowledge about that?
    Because it was done incorrectly.
There are that many dependcies in SAP, you never really know them all.
People changed (or deleted entries) in one table, but forgot the update in a second dependend table.
You should be a very experience consultant before you may consider direct table updates, and when you became an experience consultant, then you know that you will not do that.

  • Net Price - direct copy from material master into purchase order

When purchase requistions are converted to purchase orders, currently we are maintaining Net Price manually
before saving the purchase order. Is there a way where the standard price is copied from the material master {Accouting view} into the purchase order directly without manual entry
    If yes, Please advice

    Hi,
    1. Go to SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Authorization Management > Define Function Authorizations for Buyers > Function Authorizations: Purchase Order > Here "New Entries" and define Function Authorization Key as "01" and give description.
OR use T. Code - OMET
Here under "General parameters" subscreen, cctivate "Adopt PO Price" indicator and select "Enter conditions"
In "Possible ref. objects", select "W/o reference" otherwise reference documents (for e.g. PR, RFQ, etc...) for PO creation will become mandatory.
    2. Now go to SU01 > Enter User ID > Parameters Tab > Here for Parameter ID EFB i.e. Function Authorization: Purchase Order, maintain value "01" and check in PO, PR will become mandatory for that user.
    3. Now during creation of PR in ME51N, under "Valuation" Tab, you will get option for PO Price Adoption as Net or Gross. Select as per your requirement and it will copy Price to PO.

Hi: Ihave find out a solution
    Use BADI: BADI_MATERIAL_REF
SPROlogistics general enhancement supplement or change default data (industry)
And then creating a Implementation Name
    Double click method: CREATE_MATERIAL
And then write code as below:
    method IF_EX_MATERIAL_REFERENCE~CREATE_MATERIAL.
              c_mbew-peinh = '1000' .
    endmethod.
However, SAP still store '1000' in database evenif we change the default value such as 100 when we use TCode MM01.
in additional, we still use MM02 to change the default value such as '100'
can anybody tell me how to do?
    thanks

  • Price Control Indicator in Material Master Record (Accounting View1)

    Hi,
Is there any way to make the Standard Price (S) or Moving Average Price (V) automatically SET in Material Master Record? So that everytime we create a material, there will be no need to enter which price we prefer.

    Hi,
Go to OMS2. select material type- goto detail- Tick 'Price control Mandatory".
Also if you maintain "ext pro allowed i,e,2" ,system will pick price control V automatically.
For price control S, maintain Int proc allowed as 2.

  • T.code MMPV: managing period material master records (two questions ...)

    Hi All,
I have some doubts about t.code T.code MMPV:
    - this t.code is for opening a new period: how to know the periods already opened?
    - if a new period is opened by mistake? Could I come back to the (two) previous (also managing tables by SE16N)?
    Thanks
    Gandalf

    Hi,
Use T. Code: MMRV and enter ur company code and can see/check/view which period is open for ur company code.
Before closing a period, you must ensure that all transactions are related like GR, GI, IR posted to respective period. In MM side you can post current period and current minus one period. If any transaction related to not posted and you close the period, you can consult FICO team for further action.
It is possible to re-open a previously closed period. However, it is NOT advisable to do so because the valuation data of the previous period could be affected.
In general, it is only safe to reopen a previously closed period when no material postings have been done after the period shifting to the new period. If there has already been postings after the period shifting to the new period, reverting the period back will cause database inconsistencies in the history tables.
If you decide to proceed with this process, you can use the program RMMMINIT, but, please review the documentation of this program first!! and the check the SAP notes 487381 (for the error message that you are receiving) and the 369637 (for an explanation about the inconsistencies that will be generated.
    Steps are as below;
    Go to Transaction Code SE38
    Enter program name RMMMINIT
Execute or press F8 function button
Enter your company code (From and To)
Enter relevant date: Say 01/03/2009 for Jan. 2009 month to be opened as of now
That means, user can post for the month of Dec 2008 as well as Jan. 2009 .Refer SAP Note No. 487381 for more details.
As per SAP Notes 487381 ( If the periods are opened in advance in mmpv to again change it to current period the following process should be follow ), Go to Tcode MMPI, then go to menu bar and select system -> user profile->owndata.In that screen , under the parameters tab enter MMPI_READ_NOTE in Parameter ID field and enter, then under short description you will get Initialise period. Next Save.
Again go to MMPI enter company code, period and year and execute.
Other way of doing ,it is follow these steps[But do not try these steps in Production system]:
    1. Use T.code: OX18, and delete the plants assigned to your CO.Cd and save.
    2. Use T.code:  OMSY and change the posting period to the one you want and save.
    3. Use T.code: OX18 and assign the plants you have deleted in step 1.and save.

  • What is the effect of change material price in previous period?

i have changed the material price in 31/12/2010 and we are in period 01/2011
but the moving price doesn't changed in period 01/2011 its still the old price.
i want to know why the system didn't change the price for period 01/2011
and  i want to change the price for now and all next periods.?

    Hi,
you are using moving average price and not standard price.
You can change standard price thru costing run. you can't change moving average price it is calculated based on procurement. further you can change thru MR21 but beware it will generate revaluation entry that will have financial impact.
If you still has doubt then please elaborate the requirements.

  • How can we maintain the selling price of PAC in Material Master?

    Hi ALL,
We have a material that has Unit of Measures EA and PAC (based on the EA).  So if i have a selling price for the UoM EA (quantity=1 EA) = 1.00 EUR the PAC (quantity=6 EA) due to conversion factors would be PAC = 6.00 EUR.
What happens though if we decide to sell the PAC less than 6.00EUR. So the EA = 1.00 EUR and the PAC = 5,65 EUR?
Based on the Concept of Conversion Factors that we use in IS Retail this is not accepted in the system.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
    George H.

You need to clean up the different objects and make it clear what is going on. Say, unit of measure is just a translation within the quantity space and should not bring about the type of product and how it is priced. When it comes to pricing you can use scale to establish quantity based discounts (say, if 1-5 is purchased the unit price is 1.0 dollar but if 6-60 is purchased the price is only0.9 as an example). Now if a PAC is six units physically packaged together then it probably would be more correct to define two separate materials in the system. This way, the price can be independently set for the PAC versus the unit EA. So, if the pack is a separate material that is priced independent and it takes conversion to bring it from PAC to EA then PAC is not a different unit of measure but rather a different product (you need to re-align your master data correctly).

  • Price Condition Depending of Material Master Record

Helllo Experts, I have an issue with a price condition on a price procedure  the user wants to be able to mantain the price condition manually only if the material used at item level of sales order is equal to one of 3 sku´s.
This Price condition can not be mantained on VK12 because it´s calculated manually depending of several factors.
For Example, let´s say the Material ID´s are  1122, 1123 and 1124 and the price condition is ZY01.
If the Mateial ID used at item level of sales document, the manual condition ZY01 shouldn´t be shown to the user only if the material used is equal to 1122, 1123 or 1124
To solve this issue I was thinking to use at price procedure the field requirement and use a pricing routine as  "2" Item with pricing and edit the routine. the Material used at item level of sales document
I´m not quire sure this is going to work, And what´s the name of the field I should use to get that
Any Suggestion how to adress this  issue is welcome.

Hello, I create my own condition table to include material field, also a new access sequence has been created, to link this table on field material I only can specify one material number, I capture there my material for wich I want this price condition work, but when I create a Contract on VA41 using the material included on my price condition, I´m able to mantain the amount, but the same happen when I try to use another material number not included on my access sequence.
