Updating problem - Apple of Death - An answer (perhaps)
I have discovered that the ONLY way to update without my phone dancing to the Apple of Death is to unplug all usb hubs and hardware leaving only phone and keyboard/mouse connected.

I just had a logic board die on a nearly two year old MacBook Pro - well out of warranty but it was a known MacBook Pro issue so they replaced it for free. Never say never until you've tried Apple for repair of the problem. This is the third thing out of warranty they've replaced free for me in the past year. So see if there's an Apple approved repairer near you or make the trip to have it done by an Apple shop. I use an Apple approved repairer as it's closer to where I live and their turnaround is much faster. You may also be able to mail it to Apple.

Bizzare Photoshop update problem - Adobe forums have no answer!
I have had to reinstall PS CS4 and subsequently went through an update. Part of this update was a RAW plugin filter from 5.0 to 5.4. The update ran and showed a download of the 5.4 plugin. But, when launching and checking the RAW version it still shows 5.0.
My latest RAW image are no longer visible or regocognisable as a result. I have tried to reinsatll several times, completing an uninstall prior and even Adobe CS4 cleanup has been run, but no change.
Could this be a MAC OS problem?Hi,
You may have to physically put the new RAW plug in into the Photoshop plug ins folder. If you can find the new version of course. Try going to the Adobe website and download the new RAW version.

I see lots of people asking questions about the "white screen" app store update failure. I see no answers from Apple about this...What is the problem, and what is the solution?
It's a problem that Apple is having with their App updating system. The best solution is to be patient, and wait for Apple to solve their systemic problem.

My ipod touch will no longer download new apps after I updated via apple store.It freezes now when I attempt to download and blanks the app off entirely . How can I reverse the updates or correct the problem moving forward?

In trying to include what information all that I could I should have specified I DON'T KNOW THAT IT WAS DEFINATELY JAILBROKEN when I took it to the apple store they told me there's no way for them to tell if it was jail broken or not. I'm only going by what ppl have told me COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE PHONE. With that said the only thing I know for sure is that the apple tech at the Genius Bar told me that someone took control of my root menu in February & I've had no control of my phone since. I asked him how to regain control & how he knew his exact words were "oh that is out of our scope of capabilities here at this level & you would need an apple engineer to fix it". I said ok then how do I get an apple eng then? He laughed & said you can't!!!! To which I was furious I came home & called apple requesting to speak w/the fraud dept to file a report they said we don't have a fraud dept!! So after a 45 mn phone call again I left w/no answers.

I DON'T HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO SPEND HIRING AN ATTORNEY & Although I appreciate your suggestion I fail to how an attorney would be able to facilitate in any way since there's no suspect. I cannot prove that it's him doing it so I certainly can't pursue legal action w/no proof & no money. :'((

I was looking more for a TECHNICAL way to avoid this happening w/a new phone should I buy one or trying to get them out of my phone now! Such as installing some kind of software protection?? Someway to clear out the entire phone (other than factory reset which was done 10 x's w/no success, etc. if this person got in then there HAS TO BE A WAY OF GETTING HIM OUT, right???? -
I have updated my Apple TV to 5.1. Using the Remote app on my IPhone and iPad I can browse the music library on the Apple TV but I cannot select a song to play. Has someone else the same problem?
MatsI think I found the reason. On my iMac that is hosting the music library a song already was playing. This seems to block out me from selecting another song though my Apple TV.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device) -
Problem with HP Media Centre M7670.UK-a - won't boot after installing an update to Apple Quicktime
I just installed the latest update to Apple Quicktime (after an update message appeared on the screen). When asked if I wanted to re-boot the PC now, I clicked on Yes.
Now the computer won't boot. The power light comes on, then the disk drive light flashes for a moment, then nothing else happens and the PC starts to beep. The beeps are repeating, with 2 short beeps and one long beep. What do the beeps mean?

since i updated my Apple ID with correct email address I can now only send imessages to email addresses and not iphone numbers - any idea how to fix this problem ?
You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password. They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary. The call should be free.

I've tried and tried several times to Connect my device to my PC and follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to download the update from Apple. Problem is iTunes doesn't connect to my iPad so that I can update to iOS 5. I don't see the iPad icon when iTunes loads. I have looked in my computer and see the iPad is recognized. Any one else having this problem? This is also happening with my iPod
Thank you, RipleyI haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?

we cannot complete the software update for apple tv. is anyone else having this problem. it gets to about 99%, then says 'unsuccessful'.
