Updating Qualifications in PA30

Hello Experts,
On deleting qualifications and adding/changing a new qualification in PA30 in either the CHANGE or CREATE function
all looks good however on returning to the records after some time, there are duplications of the old records appearing along
with the new updated record?
Is this a config issue?

Check the attributes of the Infotype IMG-> Personnel Management -> Personal Administration -> Customizing Procedures -> Infotypes.

ESS Service - Skill Profile Update - Qualification Validity - Enable BEGDA

Dear Expert,
Is there way to give the qualification valid from to date through ESS when employee add his skill?
We have qualification catalogue u2018Work Permitu2019, Qualification as u2018Countriesu2019 and defined the scale u2018Permitted and Not Permittedu2019.
Employee need to add this skill with valid date for his work permit.
Is this option available in Standard ESS?

There are qualification like License/Visa need begin and end date in which Employee shoule be able to give/input validity date. I would expect that ESS service for Skill update should have it. I am not the one who is facing this requirement first time. I would like to know if there is any way to enhance ESS service for Skill update to enable begin and end date.
The function module 'RHPP_Q_PROFILE_WRITE' has table structure HRPE_RELAQ. It has 2 sets of valid dates. any info on this? Is ESS service for Skill update calls this FM?

Update listview in PA30 after updating multiple records inEXIT_SAPFP50M_002

Hi experts,
I'm struggeling with the update of the list screen in PA30 after changing a record in PA30. I assume that this could be solved using badi HRPAD00INFTY, but so far, I have no luck in solving this - description of the issue:
From PA30, I'm going to the list overview screen for IT2001. From this view, a record is selected and entered via change mode, and a change is made (could be a change of the end-date or similar). Now, in some cases, the change will also imply changes to other, dependent records in IT2001 (independent of time constraints. In our case, the changes consist of locking IT2001 records under certain conditions).
I'm handling the change of dependent records in exit EXIT_SAPFP50M_002. However, the changes are not reflected to the user when he/she returns to the list screen of IT2001 again. Only after re-starting PA30, the actual change is visible.
Do you have any ideas on how to make the changes visible without re-starting PA30.

LSMW (PA40) successful but unable to update records in PA30

Hi,
I have tried running LSMW ( with external no range) in Fore ground mode. I can see that the data is getting properly picked from Excel sheet and in foreground mode, I am able to see this data getting into screens when i run LSMW last step.
But actually when i go and check in tables and in PA30 if these employees are hired, there is no data.
Can you please check the below --->
My guess is while recording when we save 0,1,2 there should be some code written for "SAVE". In my recording BDC Code i ddint find any specific code. Can you check in your recordings if there is any special code for "SAVE" like BDC_OKCODE = "SAVE".
Since there is no code written in my recording, i think this is the reason data is not getting saved.
Can you let me know what needs to be done? If the above doubt is right, how to insert that in my BDC code.

First of all I would like to answer all your questions.
1. Yes, I tried LSMW by including PSPAR-PERNR PERNR Personnel Number in BDC code under MP000000 2000 too. Also, I did add the Perner again in the upload file too. In Read data mode I can see that Perner appeared twice as per our recording. In convert data Perner appeared only one. When I run last step of LSMW in foreground mode everything was perfect. But again when I go and check in PA30 there is no data.
2. Yes, I did use PA40 for recording.
3. The sequence is 0000->0002->0001 while recording , in uploading file and in foreground mode too.
4. When I run in foreground it appears like the regular Manual PA40 transaction.
I donu2019t what might be causing this error. I would be glad to know your answers for the above issue.

Hi,
If you mean to load 100's of qualification and qualification group , probably you need to use lsmw/ecatt/bdc .Record using tcode pp02.
You need to have a seperate recording for qualification group and qualification.Make sure you are capturing all few which are available in tcode OOQA(for this necessary config settings much be in place)

[EhP4][Qualifications] Central Person and PA30

Hi,
We switched on the Business Function CA_PA_CE_GE_QUALI that allows qualifications to be linked with the Central Person (and not the Person directly).
The report RHPE_CCE_CONVERT_RELATION migrates old relations (between Person and Qualifications) to the new model (between Central Person and Qualifications).
However, in PA20/PA30, the infotype 0024 does not reflect the changes!
Should we now only use the Portal to update qualifications??
Have we missed a switch of some kind in the customizing (the CE switch is on) ?

Hi,
There is a hard-coded switch you also need to "turn on".
It is located in the CL_HRCE_MASTERSWITCHES=>CHECK_RELEASED method.
For the time being, I simply created an implicit enhancement to set the attribute to true.

Regarding updation of PA0024

Hei Experts,
I've created a Workflow for Qualification management wherein one employee updates his qualification thru PA30 ( infotype 24) and it is sent to the administrator for approval.
My requirement is: When the administrator approves the qualification, the profile should be updated in table PA0024. Is some BAPI there to do this??
Right now, the table PA0024 is not being updated even when I'm creating Qualification manually(without Workflow) thru PA30.
Please suggest.....

Employee photo is not updated in ESS Who's who service

hi colleagues,
i am facing an error when i am trying to update the employee photos in the who's who service of ESS.
when new photos are added against an employee number via tcode OAAD in the ECC system, they are updated against the record and can be seen in tcode PA20. however, the new photos are not getting updated in the who's who screen. we have tried clearing the cache (figuring there might be a problem with the browser.... we are using IE 7.0) but were still unsuccessful.
any advice will be greatly appreciated.

already did.... not working there as well. except for the first time during logon, it does not ask for any user id or password while viewing the photo in the portal. the photo gets updated in PA20, PA30 but does not get refreshed in the portal. the portal shows the same old photo.
any comments or advice would be helpful.

Automatic Post processing of Qualifications

Gurus,
I have to implement the IDP ( individual development plan ) and we plan to have one appraisal document for both objective setting and development plan. What we need to do is include the development plan and once the employee fullfill /aquire the development item, this has to go back and update the qualification catalogue of the employee.
Any thoughts ?

Hi,
Yes it is possible, in the appraisal template under the processing tab, you will find a section for follow-up processing. Here you have standard badi's to update qualifications. If the standard ones don't suit your requirement then you can create a bespoke enhancement for badi HRHAP00_FOLLOW_UP or HRHAP00_FOLLOW_UP_D depending on whether you want it to be processed in the background or not.

MS-5169 v. 2.1 and what update for CPU ?

I have a MS-5169 v. 2.1 with Bios AMI v. 3.1 (It used to be v. 2.2).
The CPU now is AMD K-2 333 MHz but I have a K-2 400 MHz in my drawer I would like to use !
Is it possible to update the M.B. v. 2.1 to use a K-2 400 MHz ?
The reason I ask is because the guide lines are a little confusing: There are the manuals and in the case of v. 2.1 it can only use up to K-2 350 MHz !!!
On the other hand when you look at the AMI BIOS history v. 2.7 includes use of K-2 400 MHz CPU and the one I have is v. 3.1 so that CPU support should be included ?
If the BIOS update qualifies the M.B. to use K-2 400 MHz, then there is the question of how the jumpers should be placed since the Manual for v. 2.1 does not deal with K-2 400 MHz CPU !!!
Any qualified idears from you ?

I just tried the 400 MHz and it did not work out ! - when the boot came to 'personal settings' in Win XP it shuts down and boots up again !!
Any idear ?
I have done the following setup before boot:
Jumper JV1: I left as 'Dual Voltage CPU'.
I got this data from the AMD website:
AMD-K6.-2/400 2.2V 3.3V 100 MHz 4x
AMD-K6.-2/333 2.2V 3.3V 95 MHz 3.5x
Therefore I have only change the Bus Speed and the Clock multiplier:

All according to the Manual v. 2.1
Have I forgotten to set something ? - or is there someting wrong with the CPU which becomes evident as the 'personal settings' starts in the boot process !!
PS: the PC works alright again with the 333MHz CPU and Win XP came with a message at first boot up, that the system has been recovered after a serious error !!!

As of now Qualification data is storing in HRP1000/1001 tables.(No records in PA0024 table)
I got the requirement to see the records in PA0024 table.

Is there any setting to store data in PA0024 instead of HRP1000/1001?

Employee proficiency is store in IT 0024, which is table PA0024 technically. To read this you can do select statement on table PA0024 or using function module HR_READ_INFOTYPE

Uploading HR mini master

Hello,
I would like to know what the best way is to upload HR mini master records. We are doing a CATS project and I need employee numbers with infotypes: 0000, 0001, 0007, 0105, 0315. Can anyone provide me information on what BAPI's or other to use.
Preferably using it in LSMW.
Do I for instance need to split the upload in PA40 upload and then an update upload with PA30?

Thanks for the SPRO link. However, from that documentation it seems that you need to code your own program to do the uploading based on a report as model.
I came across Business Object HRMASTER with method SAVEREPLICAMULTIPLE. Do you have any idea if that would work better, in the sence that own creation of reports is reduced? In the mapping I see a lot of infotypes (not infotype 007, ok batch input). But looks further ok? What do you think? In the SPRO link no mention of this HRMASTER business object is done.

Issue while modifying entries in custom infotype after enhancement.

Hi All ,
I have enhanced custom Infotype (Added 2 new fields).
After enhancement, I am facing one issue while updating infotype through FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION.
Issue is that I am not able to update/modify records through FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION.
RETURN parameter of FM comes empty indicating no errors but actual records in database table are not updated. I debugged FM and found that SAVE button on PA30 screen is disabled.
Anyone knows reason for above proble and also please help me in solving issue.

Yes i am able to update IT9201 through PA30 but not with FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION. Also I have activated PXXXX structure through PM01.
While debugging FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION i saw that SAVE button is disabled and processing stops there.

Dynamic Actions issue

Hi Experts,
Is it technically possible to know if an Infotype was updated through the Dynamic Actions or manually by an end user.
We have a case where an Infotype is updated in the background based on certain conditions through a dynamic action.
The same Infotype could be in certain circumstances updated manually through PA30.
Is it possible to know how the last change was done???

In fact we have a custom Infotype (IT9xxx: Eligibility for certain benefit) that we are automatically creating/updating in the background based on changes in IT0021; if a new dependant is added in IT0021, we automatically create for him a new instance in this custom Infotype etc...
Sometimes and for some special cases, the end user should update this IT9xxx manually.
Now, if I want to know each records in this IT9xxx were created manually and each ones were created automatically, is it possible or not ??? in other terms from a system point of view, do we have a flag or an indicator to tell us if the record was created/updated through dynamic action or manually.
