Updating raw support for Leica T

When will Apple be updating raw support for Leica T?  Eager to process my raw files.  B&H personnel pointed out that's one of the differences between Aperture and Lightroom, the quickness of support for new cameras.

As always the answer to this type of question is the same, only Apple knows when a particular camera will be supported (if at all) and they never say in advance.
You can send them feedback suing Aperture->Provide Aperture Feedback. Don;t know if it helps but it can;t hurt.

Nobody here knows when the next release is due.

Once again and after posting to Apple development we still have no RAW support for the Panasonic Lumix G1. How much longer Apple...!

RAW support updates are separate from Aperture updates..

  • Support for RAW format for Leica cameras

Does anyone know when iPhoto might provide RAW support for the Leica D-LUX 3 digital camera?

Larry, thx for the clarity. I didn't realize asking about future directions was a no-no here.
I since found an Apple document indicating support for the Leica D-LUX 3 and RAW format in an OS 10.4.10(?) release. I think I'll have to drag my Mac to the camera store, take a few pics with the D-LUX 3, attempt to sync and see if/how the RAW images come over, and then advise here on if it worked with OS 10.5.2 and iPhoto '08.

  • Camera Raw Support for Canon 7D MkII

Just trying to get some idea if I should spend the $99.00 to buy Aperture from the Apple Store.  This might sound a little over the top, but the work flow I miss by not having RAW support in Lightroom is worth the expense of buying Aperture.
I do find it very disappointing that Adobe have not as yet provided support for the new Canon 7D MkII.  This will be a VERY popular camera.
More importantly I find this tardiness on Adobe's part very disappointing because they market CC buy saying "You will always have up to date software".  When you consider Apple and Google Picasa have both already supported the Canon 7D MkII.  I might add they both had support for the camera within days of it's release on 31 of Oct.
    So after my little rant.
Can anybody from Adobe advise when we will see Camera Raw support the new Canon 7DMkII?
Even if it is in Beta form I would be very happy to be a Beta tester.  I have very extensive experience in testing software and would be prepared to do structured Beta testing.  I would be very happy if someone from Adobe Labs would contact me for the purpose of Beta testing Camera Raw support for the 7D MkII.
    Kind Regards

Thanks ssprengel, you have clearly put into words what is currently reality at Adobe, and confirmed my suspicion of Aperture being a dead product.  Although Google's Picasa is not dead.
I do realize Adobe Products are very well developed and software does take time to perfect before it gets released.  I have been in the software development game for 35 years
But Camera RAW is an adjunct to Lightroom, Photoshop, Premier Pro etc.  As such the support for new camera models should be a relatively simple exercise and should not be held up by other R&D on the products that Camera Raw plugs into.  I believe they have in the past released updates to Camera Raw that essentially was just for new camera models.  I do realize I could be wrong on this point, but I fail to see why they can't achieve this outcome.
Also, as I said Adobe Market Creative Cloud membership saying you will always be up to date. Or words to that effect.
To have an Adobe support person get upset because he has a large number of people pestering Adobe, and not him personally, trying to get ans answer as to the timing of the release of support for a new camera model, quite frankly is totally unacceptable.  Not acceptable to the customers and not acceptable to the poor support person who has to handle disgruntled customers due to poor planning on Adobe's part.
In my original post I made a very serious offer to do Beta Testing on support for the Canon 7DMkII Raw files.  But when i last checked with Adobe Labs the current Beta does not include support for this camera.
There maybe extenuating circumstances around the timely supply of this support.  Like when did Canon provide the Specs for the 7D MkII and are those specs so different from other currently supported models.   Even some feedback as to what the problem is, would help us understand.
I hope I have expressed my thoughts objectively and hope this discussion stream will get to management at Adobe.  In fact I am very inclined to ensure it does get to senior management.  I don't want to start writing a personal letter to the Chairman of Adobe's Board, but sometimes things do need a shake up.
    Kind Regards

  • Raw Support for Panasonic LX-5

In trying to keep aware of when raw support might be added for my 2 month old LX-5 I came across an update that someone had referenced from January of this year that added raw support for the LX-5 and some other cameras, when I tried to download it my computer said the latest update on my computer was newer than that. Does that mean I should already have it? If not does anyone know when it will be added? When I first took pictures with my camera I had images saved in raw and j-peg and i photo only recognized the j peg formatted pictures. The j pegs are beautiful but I would like to experiment with raw.

I reply now only to validate my ignorance..
I think what happened is the update that added the lx-5 raw support came out a couple weeks after I got the camera, so I tried it initially and was not able to import raw files and gave up and went to j peg. I tried again this morning after posting, and have been happily dealing with raw files all morning.
Love the camera and am glad i photo will allow me to realize all that it can do!

  • Camera Raw support for new Nikon D810

Hi, could you please advise when we can expect to see camera raw support for the new nikon D810.
    Thanks

Adriana – I installed the download from the link in the 7/27 post and was able to convert my NEF files to DNG format from my new D810 camera, but could not view/edit the NEF-smalls. When I saw your latest post I used your link to go to that download and noticed that in the description it mentioned that the issues with the D810 NEF-small have been resolved.  I deleted/emptied trash of the 7/27 download and re-installed the one mentioned from your link – although they were both identical in file size and version: 8.6 – hmm?  I tried the converter – but nothing new was converted (I presume because all had already been converted before?).  However, CS6 is still not able to open/edit neither the NEF-small file formats, nor the DNG created from it.  I am thinking maybe I am missing a step, because when I select properties for Camera Raw in CS6, the version is 8.5.0.236 – is that ok (my CS6 version is 13.0.6 – and no other updates appear available)? I only downloaded the DNGConverter_8_6.dmg; installed the .pkg – did I forget a step? Thanks for your help!

  • Camera Raw Support for G12 & S95

The current Camera Raw 6.2 release does not support the Canon G12 or Canon S95. Adobe please add raw support for these two great new cameras.

This is TRUE!!  I have recently purchased a G12 and was informed that nothing changed but the addition of the new HD Video - quote, "that is the only difference between the two cameras," end quote.
Obviously the camera stores have been misled as I see that several of us have found out that the Camera Raw 6.2 version released is only good for the G11.
I have already spoken with Technical Support, left messages as well as sent an e-mail to "What's Missing" pull down menu.
Needless to say, if I hear back that an update is not forthcoming soon, I will have to return my camera!
It still amazes me that companies do not talk to each other nor release all updates appropriately.

  • RAW support for Canon SX-50

I use Photoshop Elements 10 and I have a Canon SX-50 camera. When is Adobe going to add RAW support for the Canon SX-50?

You need to upgrade to PSE11 as PSE10 will not get updated. Or use canon DPP to convert CR2 to tiff and then use the tiff files in PSE10. But you will find PSE11 has a much better raw engine, notably for adjusting highlights and shadows.

  • RAW extension for Leica D-Lux4

I am looking for a RAW converter for my Leica D-Lux 4. When I use Aperture 2.1.2 I can only load the pictures as jpg files
    Any help ?
    Happy New Year - Frank

    Hi all,
Wrote to Apple, love my D-LUX4...the lens and its images are truly amazing. I have now sold a number of images from this little gem, and they rival or exceed many M8 or D3 shots I sold in the same batch. Obviously, Leica D-LUX4 is not equipped to so all the things a D3 can do...but for the shots it can make, it rivals anything out there, including its big brother M8, costing almost 8 times as much.
The Leica D-LUX4 (and sister Panny LX3) is an important camera, one that clearly gets professional results, and it seems bordering on the ridiculous at this point that it has been out since October 08 and we are still waiting for RAW support for Aperture. I have been an Aperture user since the first beta, and a flag waving cheerleader who loves the product... I have not minded waiting a bit for previous camera support, but at this point this is taking way too long.
I just did a search and I have over 12,000 (24K files) of JPEG + RAW from this camera in my Aperture library since January. The only saving grace here is that frankly of any digital camera I have ever tried, the D-LUX4 outputs the highest percentage of better and more instantly usable JPEGs than any other shooter, regardless of cost or complexity. Leica's firmware is great. Be that as it may...I have needed to do RAW manipulation in some of the images, and have had to use other, less capable software to do so...
    Please support this soon...

  • RAW support for Nikon D3s

I just read on Nikon Rumors that Apple is now offering support for the D3s? But I am failing to see this on their site, am I missing something?
    Shane

The latest Digital Camera Raw Compatibility update includes support for it. This update is only available from the Software Update pane of System Preferences and isn't mentioned on Apple's site at this time.

  • HT4757 RAW support for the SONY RX100?

Anyone know when will Apple be adding RAW support for the SONY RX100?

Unfortunately this is a user forum, so no-one can answer that one for you.  You can use the feedback option in aperture to request it though.  More than likely it wont come until Canon or Nikon release some more DSLRs, which is usually what prompts an update.  For what it's worth you can use the Adobe DNG converter which will convert the sony .arw file into a .dng file that Aperture can read.  It is another step to your workflow but you can do it.

  • Why no RAW support for Fuji X10?
