Updating RAW

I am unable to update camera raw. I get a message : "Unable to write at location '/Users/my name/Library/Application Support/Adobe" In my system the /library/Application Support/ Adobe is not in the Users/my name file but directly in the HD drive. I cant change it because it is invisible.

Adobe Bridge CS6 is malfunctioning after the last update raw 8.0.199. Several problems.

Anything known on this issue? Solutions? Even importing files from memory card is a problem.
In import window images are not diplayed as images but all the same blue mini images.
vertical files are changed into landscape positions and more. Mac version.

I want to update RAW on CS5 but adobe server is constantly offline ?

Hi, I recently bought a cuple of canon600d's upgrading from 450's, my photoshop CS5 does not recognise the raw format. Adobe server is offline or unavailable to enabe me to download update/ I have downloaded a trial version of CS6 and of course raw works perfectly. The Adobe server has not benn able to open for about 3 weeks now. I turn off my firewall settings beforehand. ny suggestions ?

It's not offline. It's been working for others. Updating raw support for Leica T

When will Apple be updating raw support for Leica T? Eager to process my raw files. B&H personnel pointed out that's one of the differences between Aperture and Lightroom, the quickness of support for new cameras.

As always the answer to this type of question is the same, only Apple knows when a particular camera will be supported (if at all) and they never say in advance.
You can send them feedback suing Aperture->Provide Aperture Feedback. Don;t know if it helps but it can;t hurt.

Which version of photoshop and operating system are you using?
The reason i ask, even though you wrote cs6, is the camera raw 6.7 update is for photoshop cs5.
Did you try Help>Updates from within photoshop to get the most recent version of camera raw, which is 8.7 for photoshop cs6?

Photoshop Elements 8 won't update RAW

I have pse 8 for windows. i need to update my RAW support 6.2 for Canon t2i. I downloaded the RAW upgrade and installed it. It still won't read the RAW pictures. I look under the Help>about plugin>camera RAW and notice that it is stucked at 5.5. I tried to installed it twice and manually copy the file over. I also notice that I am running 8.0 of pse (20090905.r.605812). Is this the most recent version of PSE 8? And how can I install the RAW upgrade? thanks

PS CS6 Smartobject - ACR not updating RAW edits

Hi,
I am working with PS CS6 and smartobjects. I do a lot of advanced batch editing.
I have an issue I have failed to find an answer to.
When working with a smartobject-image in PS, and going back again into ACR to to some adjustments on RAW file, and then back into PS, the updated adjustments I did on the RAW file shows in PS, but is NOT saved in ACR.
This is an issue for me, since I need to copy RAW settings and apply to many other RAW images. The way I work I may need to go back many times into ACR from PS to adjust the RAW file, I can not know the final edit the first time when opening the RAW file from ACR.
As it is now, the only time ACR remembers the edits I do on the RAW file is the inital first time edit which is applied before the file is opened as a smartobject into PS.
How can I get ACR to remember the edits I do when re-opening the RAW file from a smartobject in PS??

Smart object layers that have embedded RAW file object are independent from the original RAW file. The smart object contains a Copy of the original RAW file and ACR Settings. You can create multiple RAW conversions within a single document by targeting the Smart object layer then use menu Layer>Smart Objects>New Smart Object via Copy to create independent Smart Object Layers. Each can be be open in ACR by double clicking on a layers smart object icin in the layers palette the original ACR conversions setting can be changed by the user. When they click OK in ACR the Smart object layers pixels will be updated to reflect the changes and the ACR settings will be updated in the embedded object. This is the way it designed to work.
To work the way you want if one update a ACR conversion in any document that had been created using a particular RAW file ever document with this RAW file would need be linked to gather some way along with all the others documents with this RAW file embedded so all embedded RAW smart Object layer as well as the original RAW file metadata or side car file updated. Sort of making Digital back to film where you could only develop your exposed file once eliminates versions. Not very desirable for Photo work. If your publishing printed material you may be better off looking a Indesign

PS & Bridge CS4 refuses to update Raw file plugin from 5.0 to 5.4

I have been using PS CS4 for some months now, and updated the plugin some time ago. Anyway, something occurred several days ago (cant honestly remember what now) that led to me reinstalling CS4. After which I did an update from help/updates. This downloaded the PS update 11.0.1 and subsequently the Raw update. Unfortunately, although PS goes through the motions of updating and is clearly downloading the update and apparently installing, the Raw filter update is still consistently showing version 5.0 in PS. I have repeated the process several times and even reinstalled PS, but it has made no difference. Any idea anyone?

If you are just running Photoshop uninstall then reinstall.
if that does not work run the CS4 cleanscript

Photoshop CS6 updated Raw and now get message saying "Could no complete your request the file was not found." Help

I updated CS6 Camera Raw as it would not read my D7100 raw files. Since that I cannot open jpegs.
Also, I go to Photoshop - About Plug-In - Camera Raw and get a pop up window saying "Could not complete the Camera Raw command because the file was not found."

I apologize, guess I wasn't very good in giving info. It is on a Mac running Snow Leopard. I did the CS6 updates through Help/Updates but that did not update to where my camera (Nikon D7100) raw files could be read. I searched around on Adobe's site for the Camera Raw update that took care of reading them, forget what page I finally found a download link on but the update was a singular installer for Camera Raw. Once updated Photoshop CS6 stopped being able to 'find files' even when the file is dragged onto the Photoshop icon, or through the menu's Open. I have since uninstalled everything reinstalled the suite from the original installer. I know have a Photoshop that will open jpegs but just not my camera's raw files. Thanks for any help that you think might take care of the problem. I am not going to update the Camera Raw unless I can find out what happened and what to do to prevent it. I switched my camera to take jpegs until if and when I solve the mystery. :-) Thanks!

Update RAW conversion for Canon 70D file to CS6

I've tried several times to update my RAW converter to allow editing of the Canon 70D CR2 file in Photoshop (MAC, CS6), but each time Photoshop gives the message that I should get the latest Camera Raw update. My Bridge Preference menu indicates that I have 7.1.0.354. My last attempts were updating to AdobeCameraRaw-7.1-mul-AdobeUpdate and then DNGConverter_7_3. Both installed without issue, but the problem persists.

The current version of ACR for CS6 is version 8.6 Link to DNG converter contains ARC 8.6 and Converter.

Install PSE6 on Mac, unable to update RAW

Recently installed PSE 6 on Mac and then downloaded and installed updates. All went OK but was unable to install the update for RAW - error message 'unable to locate product to be updated' Any thoughts please....?

Thanks for getting back so promptly - but I'm still a little confused. How do I know what version of RAW I currently have? Once I know that, I presumably chose the appropriate update from the list given. Does PSE6 come with RAW to be installed along with everything else - not sure how this works.

i can't use update 7.1 raw converter dng, for CS5.5. no other update seems available anymore since CS6 came out, please advise.

Nothing to fix because nothing is wrong. ACR 7.0 and above requires CS6 or LR4.

AERO MOBILE : No Firmware Update / RAW Support / not usable

Hi , hopefully, somebody has an idea/solution for the following problem: I could not upgrade the firmware of my aero mobile higher than ver 2.000.184 (which is the pre-installed version). With the installed version, the aero mobile does not auto backup my raw files (nikon nef files) from the sdcard. It only says "no new files" in the web frontend (although there are files on the sd card). As in the iphone app stated, a new firmware (2.000.200) should fix this, but I could not upgrade the aero mobile.What I've tryed so far:-connecting my iphone to the aero mobile (thru WiFi)-connecting my notebook to the aero (thru WiFi)-connecting the aero to the internet by bridge mode-testing the successful internet connection by browsing thru the internet with the laptop connected to the aero WiFi-trying to update the firmware by checking for new firmware (thru config-System-update). Message: "no new firmware found". Does anybody tryed to auto backup raw files and makes this work? Actually.I'm thinking on returning this stuff as it does not what promised...

I purchased the AeroMobile primarily for backing up RAW files. At first, I failed to update to firmware 2.000.200 as mentioned above and found the AeroMobile useless. After playing with it before a trip, I found a workaround with a workflow. Below is what I do: 1) Download the FileBrowser ("FB") app for my iPad and connect it to the AeroMobile (you don't have to, but FB is much easier to work with for a few dollars);2) Use FB to access the AeroMobile drive (Toshiba Wireless SSD can do but not as easy), as well as the SD card mounted (inserted) in it;3) Copy the entire sub-directory inside the DCIM folder into the AeroMobile. My sub-directories are named by my camera, e.g., DC-100, DC-101, where my RAW and JPEG files are stored;4) Everytime I am done backing up the RAW files from my subdirectory, I change my sub-directory name, e.g., DC-101 to DC-102, so I know what was backed up the last time. This way, I just copy the new folder to the AeroMobile the next time.
