Updating the location of Dashboard?

Hey guys i just purchased a macbook and can not figure out how to update the location on dashboard. Can someone kindly help me out? Currently its displaying a city in california.

How do you update the location of linked smart objects?

The new linked smart object feature was a low-key feature but it's fundamentally changing our workflow for the better!
Quick question, is there a way to update the paths to linked smart objects or will Photoshop work it out? I can't see a links panel under WIndow or file so am not sure how you do it sorry.
I'm about to edit these files at home and want to make sure Photoshop can find the links - as well as find everything when I copy it all back to the server and work.

Yes, the linked smart object can be either raster or vector, but they will be placed as raster images, just as the embedded SO are. SO can be embedded or linked to an outside file. Edits to the original will not update in the original until you select "Update modified content from the menu" when you reopen the file that has the place SO in it. otherwise it will update when you save the linked file. Yes, there still is an advantage to having an embedded SO. You may not want to maintain the links - send a file off and forget to include the linked files. You may want to alter the SO, but not the original file.
Ah, thanks. But does this mean that raster and vector smart objects can EITHER be located within the Photoshop file (as they have been since their advent) OR linked to an external file?
And if so,
1. Can this linked file be either raster or vector?
2. Do edits to it automatically update the Photoshop file?
3. Is ther any longer any advantage to having the smart object data stored within the Photoshop file when it can be linked?

How to update the location of my AirPort Network? Find my iPhone shows me in my old address.

I have a AirPort Extreme 4th gen. and 3 AirPort Express in my home wifi network. I recently moved to a new home, and also moved my Airport Network, but when I have my devices connected to my wifi network, find my iPhone shows then in my old address. How can I chance the location of my network?

Any way to update the location of icons on the pages?

I have 9 pages of apps and have recently uninstalled about 20 apps. Now there are a lot of empty spaces in my pages. I hate that because when I download a new app it goes on the first empty space instead of on the last page. Is there any way to make all the existing icons take up the empty spaces without having to manually move each one?

Welcome to the Discussions Boards,
While there is no way to just have the icons fill the empty spaces, you do have a reset option that will accomplish it.
Go to Settings > General > Reset.
You'll see the option to Reset Home Screen Layout.
Resetting it will fill in those empty spaces, but the arrangement of the resulting icons may require some manual re-arranging to get the icons to the pages you want, and it's not a reversible reset. Once you reset the Home Page layout, you will have to re-arrange icons manually.

Is it possible to update the location of your files?

I currently have an issue because i imported my books to Digital Edition 2.0 from a bunch of different folders and i have since put alot of highlights in my different books.
I would very much like to move all my books to a common folder, but it seems i would have to reimport all my files anew if i do this - loosing all my highlights in the process.
Am i missing something here or is it really impossible to do some kind of workaround?

If you are really determined, you could probably do it by either/both (1) editing the manifest.xml file in your My Digital Editions directory, (2) moving files in the Annotations subdirectory of your My Digital Editions directory.
I would certainly make a complete backup of the My Digital Editions directoty first before trying any such tricks.

How can I update a location in the Apple Maps app?

The location across the road from my office building shows that a high school is there, but that is not the case. The high school has not been located across the road in over 20 years. I found this error when I was updating the location information in Google Places and thought to check the location accuracy in the Apple Maps app. How can I submit for a correction to the location info?

Apple has always included a way to "report a problem" in iOS 6 Maps, but because it does so in the context of Yelp local search information, it's not readily obvious that this button is for reporting map errors rather than just filing a grievance against a business or Yelp's data (below).

I have had the same problem, so many apps do not work properly without it! Apple says the internet satellite, the Internet satellite says Apple, back and forth with the blame instead of fixing the problem. Have turned location on and off, reset everything multiple times ( lots of hours and bandwidth to download ), Siri is now working part time, I guess she has cut back her hours for the summer. Even in these forums was suggested to check with Skyhook who does the global positioning, and after hours with them, they ended up saying that they have nothing to do with it anymore, Apple does. All to no avail and much frustration! I wonder if this is happening with the iPhone's? i'd like to know if this is happening with others that do not use satellite as their ISP? That would help narrow down the argument with Apple vs. satellite. Fell for you! Someone please help us! Ta

HT4528 I recently downloaded the newest software and now my Iphone 4s shows the location services Icon is on all the time. How can I change this back to what we originally had or is there a fix for this?

When I downloaded the most recent software update the location services Icon showed up even thought I was not running any programs. Is this something new and is it going to drain my battery? This was not happening before the download. I am told I have to just turn off the location services biut I do use them on a daily basis and it seems to be a pain to have to shut if off everytime. Does anyone know how to fix this or am I just screwed until I upgrade the phone?

Just put my i-tunes library on a 2nd hard drive, how do I easily change the location where the program looks for current songs from the C:/ drive to the new drive without going thru each song individually in the "get info" tab

I just installed a new hard drive and transfered my i-tunes library to the new drive. How can I make a bulk change of the location the program looks for the current songs. I know you can do it song by song from the "get info" tab but I need to do it for all 4500 songs. I have already changed the location that new files are stored to the new hard drive.

The pop-up lets you connect to the library file, iTunes Library.itl, on the external drive. This will, in turn, automatically update the preference for the iTunes Media folder to be the iTunes Media or iTunes Music folder inside the iTunes folder on the external drive and it will update the locations of all the content inside the media folder so that it uses the version on the external drive.
This works seamlessly if all iTunes content was inside the iTunes Media (or iTunes Music) folder (which was itself inside the iTunes library folder) before you moved/copied the iTunes folder. For content outside the iTunes Media folder iTunes should remain connected to the original location. These files should be consolidated (before or after the move/copy) and in addition, if available the library should be upgraded to the newer layout which places iPod Games and Mobile Applications inside the media folder instead of the library folder. (File > Library > Organize Library...)
For split libraries there are methods to rejoin them before moving (preferred) or repairing after the fact (e.g. my script) which I can go into if needed.

Hi, we recently had to relocate some inventory from one location to another. During initial upload we populated the serial # location during goods receipt. I now need to change that location for about 100 serial numbers. Is there a way to do this via DTW?

Location field for Serial or Batch No. details is editable and you can edit it anyhow but only by going through Inventory> Inventiory Management> Serial/Batch Details and which you can not update through DTW.
But SAP allows you to enter the correct location while uploading data through DTW of Marketing docs.
But unfortunately you cannot update the location through DTW where you want to update it. You have to do it one by one manually........

Updating the Library

How can I get iTunes to scan my library when I update new files? If I update the location of the music folder it will just give me duplicates of my music.
Every other media player I have ever used has an update button that actively scans...
I am not very iPod savvy...

iTunes does not have any sort of folder watching/scanning capability. It assumes that you will add all of your music through iTunes.
There is a program called iTunes Folder Watcher (I believe)that will do what you want. Sorry, not at my own computer so I dont' have the link. However, it should come up pretty easily if you do a search.

It's been almost a month that the LOCATION SERVICE on my iphne 4S has been turned off and there's a restriction on it . Which requires a 4 digit code that I don't have and no one seeme to be able to help me on this .
It all happened after I got the latest Apple iphone updates installed . Just a note here, except for some photos and camera, especially the the flash for taking pictures having the mind of it's own ( wont flash most of the time even when you turn on the flash ) , ALL OTHER FUNCTIONC SEEM TO BE WORKING OK .
I've tried backing up the phone on my computer and restoring it SEVERAL TIMES w/no success . The Apple store tried TWICE and cleared everything in my phone and we started it w/the factory settings,BUT BECAUSE I NEED TO HAVE ALL MY CONTACTS AND OTHER PERSONAL INFO'S, I HAVE TO RESTORE IT TO MY OWN SETINGS .
The problem is that when I restore the phone, it restores all my previous setting which PUTS EVERYTHING BACK IN TO MY PHONE THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE THE BACK UP AND KEEPS ASKING FOR THE 4 DIGIT PASS CODE AGAIN . I have no control of pick and choose what should be backed up .
I HAVE TRIED EVERY POSSIBLE CODES THAT I COULD THINK OF AND IT KEEPS LOKING ME OUT ONE HOUR AT A TIME .
Any one out there can help me w/this I would be greatful to you .

I was informed that it may take 3 minutes to activate phone but was then presented with the screen 'Could not Activate iphone', this is because the activation server is unavailable.
