Microsoft Office Update Log -- Really quick question!

Hey,
I have an log file entitled, "MAU 1.1.2 Update Log" in my root hard drive folder.
Probably a dumb question, but can I delete that log safely, it just looks stupid sitting there not serving really any purpose right? Like it's only 16 KB but still, I just wanna get rid of it.
Should I be alright to delete it? It's just a log file.

HT1977 I can't purchase apps without updating security info. Questions not there!

Security questions need nswered but the questions aren't visible just the answers. Says the account has timed out and won't allow updates to occur. No purchases can occur.

Go to Settings, Store, Apple ID, Sign out, Reset your iPad, [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.], Sign back in and try again.

Software Updates in a TS Question

Our company has recently began using OSD and right now everything works great for the most part. I built a virtual machine, updated it with all the patches through March 2015 and used Build and Capture to create the image. My applications and
packages install without an issue. However, the service desk started to question why there were over 100 updates available after the OS was deployed. I realized that some of them were updates for Office, .NET and Lync. I then realized
that the updates were not installed in the base OS because those applications were not there when I built the base machine.
Just as a side note, my updates are organized by month going back to March of 2014. So I have 2014-03 through 2015-04. The remainder are in groups that are just the years. So there is a 2015, 2014, etc. However, those are not deployed. Additionally,
we are currently required to keep desktops at IE 9 for compatibility with some of our older home grown applications. While that is in the process of being updated, I can't run IE 10 or 11.
So I was curious how everyone else manages this situation (or would) as I had a hard time finding someone discussing this scenario specifically. I did find
this article on the forums and thought that since I know which updates the system needs, I can make a special update group for OSD, deploy it to the Unknown computers collection and then setup the task Install Software Updates task sequence with only
mandatory updates. Then install them on the machine and see if more show up, which would go into a new task sequence and repeat that until there are none left. It feels like it would be a management nightmare because it would constantly have to
be updated.

First, what you described above is not "Build and Capture". As the name implies, a Build and Capture task sequence does not involve you installing Windows manually on a virtual machine; the whole point of Build and Capture is to automate the image
build process and then capture the automatically built system.
As for keeping the image up to date, there are two easy answers here. First, update your image with offline servicing. This uses DISM to effectively slipstream core OS updates into the image without having to recreate or rebuild your image in any way. As
noted though, this does not handle every possible update. That's where build and capture comes in, you simply re-run your build and capture using the updated core image with the Install Software Updates task included.
As for targeting your updates to both your build and capture as well as your deployment task sequence, yes, creating a new software update group and targeting a deployment of this group is an elegant way to handle them. Yes, you will have to update this
group regularly, but that's honestly what, a 10 minute task once a month? Alternatively, you can target all of your existing update groups at the appropriate TS collections. That adds a bit of messiness in having extra deployments but it eliminates the
need for the redundant update groups.
Both methods have overhead.

Completed update and restet security questions, I was sent email to verify changes to account and when i follow link from the email and enter my email and password I get invalid account msg? Why

I completed the update and was ask to set set security questions. I did. I received email to verify changes and when I followed the link and logged in it says invalid account! WHY I can log into aplle on anything else why not this?

Update 1.1.1 QUESTION!

I haven't updated to 1.1.1 yet, and I am hoping that someone who did could answer this question for me. Did they put the menu hold/backlight ON feature back? This was removed on their last update, and is a feature I use all the time, so I had to wipe my pod clean and downgrade it to an earlier sys software to get this feature back. I really don't want to update, find that the feature is still gone, and have to downgrade all over again. Please post your findings here to let me know and thank you very much. Take care all.

At least they can make it optional how to use the menu button - it's us, what the Apple users want. It should be not a big deal, as all other generations are still able to use it.

IPhone FREEZE from too many app updates over 3G - a question

Today I was in Manhattan and wanted to try out the 3G network (that I don't have where I live in CT). I had about 17 apps that needed to be updated, so I thought I might as well let them do their thing while I drove in.
Long story short, having all these apps updating went on for HOURS, and in the end crashed my phone and left it frozen on the startup screen until I got home and forced a restore. Probably not a good idea in the first place...
My question: is there a way to cancel an app update once you've started one over WIFI or 3G/Edge?

Used my now ex's iMac and some of her music to start up iPhone 4 and backing up as well, but after break up, getting anther chance to update was out of question how can I transfer over 2000of3900songs from her Mac to my PC not using her computer or Apple

I have over 4000 songs from mine and my now ex gfs Mac. After the split I was unable to transfer her share of music to my new lab-top. I don't wanna lose my music but I can't buy all music again I've had this problem for so long. My iPhone hasn't been backed up or synced since May 2013 I don't wanna download illegals just to get music. I figure if it's in my phone now why take it off to put back in. iTunes or Apple needs to fix the sync process or allow tranfer of music files from Iproducts directly to the computer if I back it up will it transfer all music or is this a lost cause.

Now all my new apps as well as several others are gone from the iPhone.
Look on other screens. The 4.1 update ands Game Center to the home screen. If that screen was full it create a blank screen and moves one app from the home screen to the new screen to make room for Game Center. All the other screens are pushed back one place.
How can I get my apps back? It cost me a lot of time and money to discover those apps and get them onto the phone. Are they just gone now?
If they are really gone, you can download them again. You will not be charged again if you use the same iTunes account.

IPAD and UPdate to Airprint Printer question Help Please?

I have an HP 6500 printer that I utilize with my MacbookPro (from 2007) and it operates just fine wirelessly using WiFi at home. I did note though that my iPod cannot print to the printer as the printer IS NOT AIRPRINT equipped.
MY QUESTION?
I am considering purchasing an IPAD MINI (RETINA)equipped with KeyNote, Pages, etc., and am wondering If I invest in an AIRPRINT equipped printer in order to enable printing from the IPAD MINI, will I also still be able to print from my Macbook Pro (2007) which is not equipped with anything that interfaces with AIRPRINT to my new AIRPRINT printer? In other words, is this reversed engineered to allow printing from an older laptop to a brand new AIRPRINT printer?
Hope you can help, so I don't waste money on a new printer and an IPAD only to find out I can no longer use my LapTop (MacbookPro) to print.

Going to give it a try, Now, after reading all the reviews on the various HP and Epson model all-in-one printers, my next chore will be to make the actual selection. It seems that there as many people who love each unit as there are who hate each unit. Confusing, but I will digest it over the next several days and make a choice.

To update or not to update that is the question.....

I recently RMA my WRT54G V5 and hoped they would send me a V1,2 or 3...of course they didn't! Soooooo, I got another V5 POS and it has the older FW 1.06 or something like that. Should I update it to the 1.09 or not? I read somewhere that peopl said it is worse. My problem is my router is causing latency issues (slowing the data down) I have 5Mb down and 1 Mb up. I only recieve 1.5 -2Mb when using the router. If I go direct port into the modem I get full 5Mb. I am so disgusted with Linksys that I will never buy another product from them-but either way I have to make the best of this POS. So should I update or not???? I did it on my last V5 and it didn't do a thing-infact it almost seemed to cause more issues.

this speed issue could also be a sync issue between the modem and router.....can u post the make,model and part number of the modem ?

Solaris 10 Update 5 release date question

Did I miss the release of Update 5? I see it mentioned in docs.sun.com, but not in downloads.
Or does anyone have availability date for it? It seems overdue timewise.

As a practical point I doubt if will be sooner than a couple of months from now.
For previous updates, in the couple of months before an update is released, kernel patches releases tend to dry up while all the engineers are focused on getting the update out.
And a kernel patch was released quite recently..

3.1.2 update problem and a question

For the last couple of days all my attempts in updating to 3.1.2 ended up in an error right at the conclusion of the download process. The download would get to 99% and than quit with a network time out error (even though there is actually no internet disruption on my end). I tried disabling the firewall and antivirus, didn't help.
Is there anything else I might try doing? Alternatively is there any other (official) way to actually download the update outside iTunes? I found an .ipsw file supposedly containing this update (even the file size is a match) but is it safe to do it this way? If it is, how would I go about using it(never updated that way before)?

I have the same issue. I found this real frustrating coz I have encountered this same issue since the 2.++ version update but this time the porblem didnt solve even after I disabled the firewall and antivirus. Would appreciate if someone can solve this issue rightaway.
Also, I have problem with wifi since 2 weeks ago with my version 3.1 like many of the buddies in this discussion forum. Wifi is ok but not able to connect to internet. This is very annoying especially when most of the time you have to work outside office and get connected with information thru interent thru wifi thru iphone.
May be we should seriously cosidiering othere choices of smartphone! Poor Apple!

Ok, I have a T-SQL query that I'm trying to convert in Oracle SQL.
Here is the T-SQL:

I think I'm close, but I'm not sure about the left join:

The equivalent to your T-SQL Query would be:
Update table1 E
set (field1, field2) = (
select 'sometext', NULL
from table2 A
where a.fieldx (+) = e.fieldx
and a.fieldy (+) = e.fieldy);
But since you don't do anything with the columns from table A and it is left joined, you can simply write:
Update table1 E
set field1 = 'sometext', field2 = NULL ;
