  • After update to CC from CS6 multi-camera playback/edit now glitchy

    Hi Forum Friends,
I finally made the move from CS6 to CC last week and now I am diving back in to some projects that were already in progress during the upgrade (which went smoothly).
However, I am now finding that my ability to playback multicam clips for edit is greatly degraded, with lag, hanging and "not responding" pauses really slowing me down. I haven't crashed it yet, but as the problem becomes more clear to me I'll update this thread.
Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone have a clue they can loan me?
I am running CC on Win7sp1 with 6GB RAM and an NVIDIA Quadro 2000 GPU. Nothing about my workflow or raw media (Canon XF) has changed except the CC update.
    Thanks!
    Eric D - CoralVision

Sooo... This problem is still plaguing me, and shunting all of my productions through FCPX is not a sustainable solution! Besides I am paying for this!
Let me clarify the outline of the issue - although I once assumed that my problem was associated with a widely bemoaned .MFX media error extant before the last PrProCC update, I can now say that my .MXF problems were only a subsidiary issue. My problem (sometimes identified in the event viewer in CC as "audio dropout in adobe player") is a HANG.
Today I am working in PrPro CS6.0.5 (under my CC subscription) and here is what I see: Occurring every 10-25 seconds of playback (multicam editing), it lasts 4-10 seconds (screen freezes, audio freezes) and then resumes from the moment of the hang. PrPro then executes any keystrokes that happened during the hang (eg. save, pause playback, or cut to a diff. cam. angle). In the resource monitor, I see two kinds of hangs: 1) CPU activity drops to zero and then surges before the moment of recovery, but CPU and disc I/O never approach capacity. Curiously, RAM (used physical memory) also notches down to 0, then immediately comes back up to the previous level. 2) CPU and disc activity both surge to capacity at the moment of the freeze and stay up near full bore for the duration and for several more seconds, while RAM holds steady. In this variation of the hang, the number of instances of "adobe premiere pro.exe" in the "Disk" window multiplies to 25-30 or more, then after recovery returns to the normal 4-6 instances.
Clearing/deleting media cache seems to make no change.
Kevin Monahan FYI I am still out here needing some help and encouragement.
I'm gonna go burn an hour trying to chat with support...
    Happy New Year Adobe!

  • Fonts "missing" from Cs6 to CC

Updated to CC from Cs6 and a majority of my true type fonts are coming up as "missing". What am I missing?

    @ssmith65 and @logicmom5, hello,
in my case I'm using WIN I can dispose of all the Fonts I copied into my fonts Directory. Here a screenshot of my German Indesign, where you can see this "Haettenschweiler":
What concerns these little black arrows, they are an indication of some more type variants (see screenshot):

  • Will updating from CS6 to CC Indesign cause any unwanted changes to existing CS6 documents?

Will updating from CS6 to CC Indesign cause any unwanted changes to existing CS6 documents?

The update itself will not affect exisiting files, but if you open and save them in CCC you will no longer be able to open them in CS6.

  • Can't view some images or export them to PDF from CS6 InDesign

I recently reimaged my Win7 PC hard drive and I was told by Adobe that I needed to reinstall CS6.
I was editing a document I've been working on for months and when I went to export it to PDF, like I've done many times in the past (pre-reimaged hard drive), I got an error message during the PDF export. Now when I view the document in ID, many of the graphics on other pages display as grey boxes and I can't export to PDF(or print to PDF) anything but grey boxes or no images for many of the images/graphics. Or, I may get a PDF without the graphics, but a dark area for the drop shadow only in place of the graphic. When I try to relink the graphics I get an error message that says "You don't have permission to open this file. Contact the file owner or an administrator to obtain permission." I am the file owner and admin. These files gave me no problems before this reinstall.
I also found that if I try to open an offending AI or EPS files in AI CS6, I get a similar message that says, "Can't open the illustration. The file may be read only, or the files is in use by another application, or you do not have the required permissions. Please save the document with a different name, or in a different folder or directory. -54"
I uninstalled and reinstalled CS6 again (as administrator), and did the appropriate updates. Same results.
I also opened another client's file and had a similar issue when I exported to PDF.
I tried to save the first file to IDML so I could open it in CS5, which (CS5) has been working perfectly since the reinstall. When I created the IDML from CS6, it did some really strange things when opening it in CS5, including while opening the IDML file, it would "call" an ID CS6-based file, which of course, CS5 didn't like at all. It then goes into an endless loop which requires Windows Task Manager to get out of the program.
Any ideas as to what's going on here? Do I need to change some settings in ID? Acrobat?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

  • Transferring saved workspaces, brushes, scripts, etc. from CS6 to CC on a PC using Windows 7

This is what I came up with...
Transfer saved workspaces, brushes, scripts, etc. from CS6 (Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) to CC on a PC using Windows 7.
Go to start menu < computer < (OS) C: drive < documents and settings* < user (your user name) < application data** < adobe < adobe illustrator (or adobe photoshop)***
*To see the ‘documents and settings’ folder, I had to go to start menu < control panel < folder options –  select view tab – uncheck hide protected operating system files (recommended). The computer will prompt you to go ahead, say ‘yes’ then hit apply.
** There is another folder above ‘application data’ named ‘appdata’, this is not the correct folder.
    * & ** I could not access these folders no matter what user settings I selected or logged in as administrator. I did an internet search and found the following successful:
If the the folder denies you access to share… right click on the folder < select properties < select the ‘security’ tab < click the ‘edit’ button < select any and all users named ‘everyone’ < select ‘remove’
After I removed the ‘everyone’ users, I was able to successfully share the folder to my user and access.
*** I did not have an ‘adobe indesign’ folder, scrolling down the list it was labeled just as ‘indesign’. So was ‘bridge’, ‘dreamweaver’, etc.
INDESIGN: Below are my exact paths for my particular system:
< adobe < Indesign (inside this folder I have three folders: Version 7.0, Version 8.0 and Version 9.0 – which correlates? to CS5, CS6 and CC.) < Version 8.0 < en_US < Workspaces (inside this folder I have two files of each workspace – for example named: ‘xyz.xml’ and ‘xyz_CurrentWorkspace.xml’, I don’t why there are two similarly named files??, so I copied both and pasted both (and it worked.)
< copy the workspaces you want to bring into CC
    >Go back, to the Indesign folder and then to < Version 9.0 < en_US < Workspaces and paste the workspaces.
I did the same for scripts: copied from the Version 8.0 folder to the Version 9.0 folder *Please note that, with updated versions, your scripts may not work…
    < Version 8.0 < en_US < scripts < scripts panel (copy scripts.)
You can do the same for Greps, Glyphs, Find/Change, etc.
I copied entire folders over from the en_US folders: ‘Indesign Shortcut Sets’ and ‘Glyph sets’
PHOTOSHOP: Below are my exact paths for my particular system: * please note I also have a ‘photoshop’ folder in the ‘adobe’ folder, which did not have what I was looking for to carry over.
< adobe < adobe photoshop CS6 < adobe photoshop CS6 settings – copy all files < go back to adobe < adobe photoshop CC < adobe photoshop CC settings – paste all files

To turn off UAC, go to the Control Panel, then User Accounts.
Under the header, "Make changes to your user account", there is an entry titled "Change User Account Control Settings".
Pick it, and drag the slider all the way down to "Never Notify".

  • Copy and paste From cs6 to cc 2014 Problem

Hi when i try to copy text or anything really from Indesign cs6 and try and paste it in CC 2014 why does it convert it to a image?  I cannot edit it when i copy and paste.  All the content stays the same but is i am guessing converted to outlines.  How can i stop this?  It did just fine copying and pasting from cs6 to CC from last year but not with the new update.  Please help
    Thanks
    Chris

The reason we did it was because our CS6 has q2id installed on it and CC does not.  One person that works here didnt want to just save the file in CS6 and just open it in CC later.  I just wanted to know if there was a setting i could undo to stop it from importing like that.

  • Cannot update Camera Raw from 6.7 to 7.1

When I try to update Camera Raw from 6.7 to 7.1, from the 7.1 setup file I downloaded, I get the error:
    "Update failed
    Updates could not be applied
This patch is not applicable for you. Please check for updates from the help menu in your product to see a list of latest updates available."
If I go to help in Photoshop CS5 and click on updates, it says that all of my programs are up to date, but Camera Raw is still 6.7. It absolutely refuses to update to 7.1
I just traded in my Nikon D3100 for a Nikon D3200 and 6.7 does not support it, but 7.1 does, so I REALLY need it to upgrade because I like to shoot in RAW.
    Please help????

The Adobe policy is to provide free updates for currently shipping products. The current version of Photoshop is CS6, the current Camera Raw is 7.1.
Providing backwards compatibility of older software with newer versions of Camera Raw is a major technical problem. Camera Raw is a plug-in with dependancies on the host version of Photoshop's SDK. Camera Raw 7.x is designed to use the CS6 SDK. Photoshop CS6 has different platform requirements than Photoshop CS5 had. So, trying to force fit Camera Raw 7.x to work in Photoshop CS5 would require a code branch of the Camera Raw code that would substantially complicate future development–meaning it would put a major dent in the development resources that Adobe could apply to future updates–a bad thing for current customers. Personally, as a CS6 user, I would not like that at all.
Adobe provides backwards compatibility for new cameras in old versions of Photoshop for free. Yes, it's an additional step but one that only costs a bit of time on your part. The free DNG Converter is capable of producing DNGs that are compatible back to Camera Raw 2.4 in Photoshop CS...and again, this is free and something that Adobe didn't HAVE to do...
You want new cameras to be supported in older software–fact is these new cameras produce new raw file formats that are proprietary and undocumented–it takes a lot of work o decode new formats. This problem is a direct result of the failure of the camera companies to adopt a raw file format standard that would eliminate the need for new camera format decoding...you are perfectly happy buying a new camera that creates a new, un-compatible raw format and blame only Adobe for failing to upgrade old software? Your expectations are unrealistic and you are trying to place blame on the wrong party, it's the camera company's who are at fault for not adhering to some sort of standard that would free users of the problems they face now. Blame the company that sold you the camera that is not compatible with your software...it ain't Adobe's fault.

  • How to update ACR in PS CS6?

I had just installed the CS6 Master Collection on my Windows based laptop and supplied the serial number and thought I had registered the product. But when I try to update the ACR from version 7 to version 7.1 (in PS, Help -> Update), I noticed that Update under Help was greyed out. Downloading the exe file from the Adobe website and running did not help neither as I was confronted with an error message urging me to contact the administrator, who happens to be me myself! Clicking on Online Help under Help only saw another error message saying that my laptop was not conncected to the Internet, which was untrue as I had updatede my profile via the MyAdobe site.
How can I make the Help->Update normal and update the ACR and other updates in the future?
Does updating the personal profile and added new product equivalent to having my product registered? If not, how can I register my product? I could not find anywhere to register.
    Help is desperately appreciated. Thanks.

If you did not sign in to your Adobe ID account during installation, the next time you run the program, it would ask you to sign in. Just sign in and you should be able to update the program.

  • Trouble downloading updates through CC for CS6 - Error 207

I have recently installed a legit volume-licensed copy of Adobe Master Collection CS6 on 10 laptops for my school. After some troubles updating the CS6 applications on these laptops, I downloaded and installed Application Manager 8.0 onto these laptops and then upgraded to the Creative Cloud desktop software and updated the software through that on 8 of these laptops and it worked fine.
But I have 2 laptops which I cannot update at all:
Laptop 1 - I have Adobe Application Manager 8.0 installed and upon opening it up to try and update it to the Creative Cloud software, it simply says it cannot update to the Adobe servers to update.
Laptop 2 - Does not have Application Manager 8.0 installed so I am trying to directly install the CC software onto it from a local setup file, but every time to try to run the setup file it hangs on 'Initializing setup' and then gives Error 207 - cannot connect to Adobe servers.
I've done some research about the problem and tried the following:
    - Disabled anti-virus software
    - Run as admin / use admin user account
    - Tried different internet connections in different locations (school and home - both wired and wireless)
    But neither will update.
It's odd that the other 8 are fine but these 2 are giving me problems.
Any help appreciated - if you need any more information please let me know!

Update: Just uninstalled / reinstalled CS6 on the laptop which I cannot even install Creative Cloud on and I am getting the same error again. Think I must just give up with this machine now unless anybody has any suggestions.
Here is a screenshot of what I am getting from the laptop which cannot connect to Creative Cloud to install:
The other machine I have which had troubles updating Application Manager 8.0 appears to be working now and the updates for CS6 are being installed through Creative Cloud as I type this. This machine wasn't working at school on Wi-Fi but it is at home on Ethernet so it seems happier at home.

  • How do I get extensions to show up when changing from CS6 to CC Dreamweaver

In upgrading to CC this last month I downloaded the CC Dreamweaver and none of my extensions showed up in the menu.  Is there a way to migrate the extensions over as I have slideshows etc. that are on a server with these apps and I need to get them in the new software?

Dreamweaver CC no longer supports the older MXP extension format. It now supports ZXP only.
    http://www.projectseven.com/products/cloud-install.htm
Either download updated ZXP versions from the extension developer or roll your own (for free) from your MXPs.
You can convert your MXP extensions to ZXP in Extension Manager CS6 then install in DW CC

  • Trouble opening cs6 v17 from cs6 v16.2.1 (illustrator)

Trouble opening cs6 v17 from cs6 v16.2.1 (illustrator). Tells me that the document was v=created by a newer version and of course flattesn and groups EVERYTHING. Should I have been notified of a software update?

Ask in the AI forum and tell people what features you actually used in your artwork, what fonts, what system you are on etc.. Flattening always has a specific cause, it's not per se a file compatibility problem.

  • Is it possible to upgrade from CS6 Extended version 13.0 x64 to the latest version?

Is it possible to upgrade from CS6 Extended version 13.0 x64 to the latest version?

There are three current version of CS6  perpetual  versions Mac version 13.0.6 and Windows Version version 13.0.1.3 and there is a creative cloud  sibscruption version 13.1.2.
If you running Windows on a 64Bit system and install Perpetual CS6 it would have installed at version 13.0.0 and the be updated to version 13.0.1.3.  Both a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version of Photoshop would have been installed on your windows system.   The 32 bit version will be in your windows  "Program Files (x86)" tree anf the 64 bit version in the "Program Files" tree there should be two startup icon in the start button for starting CS6.
There would also be a 32 bit and 64 bit windows subscription version installed on windows.
    Mac CS6 is 64bit only.
