Updating to ios 5 error 1611 on ipad

Using Windows XP, iphone 4 updated to ios 5 just fine but the ipad keeps getting error 1611 !!!  Any advice?

FWIW I have found that under ios5, my iPad will not even synch using the cable plugged into the monitor port;  it has to be plugged into the computer tower before it is recognized in iTunes.
So get used to having your cable plugged into the computer...  or synch wirelessly.
And thank you again to Apple_Forum_User for posting this fix originally!

    Hi Willy,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The article below provides information about specific update and restore alerts, including the 9006 alert that you saw when attempting to update your iPad 2 to iOS 8.1. Try using the instructions provided to see if the issue is caused by a conflict with the security software on your computer.
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
    I hope this helps,
    -Jason

Can you check the Object Security for the Analysis Menu and Export button and see if it is restricted?
Also, is this a Oracle DB?  IF so, has the following 32 bit Oracle Client components been isntalled:
    Oracle Objects for OLE
    Oracle Data Provider for .NET
    Oracle Providers for ASP.NET

  • How do I update my iOS? I have the iPad 1 and have tried over and over to try and update the iOS version to iOS 5.1, nothing works it will start updating then say that it did not update? PLEASE HELP!!!

How do I update my iOS? I have the iPad 1 and have tried over and over to try and update the iOS version to iOS 5.1, nothing works it will start updating then say that it did not update? PLEASE HELP!!! P.s I'm running newest version of iTunes.

Connect your iPad to your computer and let iTunes back up your iPad. After it does that disconnect it and go into your settings under general and under reset and select erase all content. After you do that reconnect to your computer, open iTunes and follow the screen options to set up your iPad as new. Once it is done doing that see if you have the latest version of iOS installed and if it does then either download gain the apps you had before or restore them from the backup made previous.

    Hello Jm23ur,
After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing performance issues with your device. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

I can't install software Update for iOS 7.1.1. for iPad because I was forgot my password. How I can change my password?

These are user to user forums. Apple does not participate here and does not respond to posts. For the record, since the iPad 2 supports iOS 8 any attempt to update the iPad 2 will result in an update to 8.1. Apple only supports updating to the latest version of the operating system that the device supports.

  • Receiving error code 3194 during update to iOS 4.3.3 on IPad

Every single step is taken into account like admin rights, running Itunes in admin mode etc. etc.
Still its not possible to update the iOS 4.2.1 into iOS 4.3.3 on an IPad 1.
    WHAT TO DO ???

This page suggests that updating to the latest version of iTunes should help : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694

  • Tried to update to iOS 4.3, after that IPad won't work, HELP!!

So I hooked up my 64GB+3G t itunes and started to update my IPad, Took an hour to backup and then I came back to check on the IPad, It said there was an error updating. I was like no worry I will just stay with the 4.2.1 update. But when I ejected my IPad and it said it needed to connect to itunes, I did that and it wouldn't recognize my IPad. So I went on this forum and to see if restoring my IPad was the only choice. I did and people said that it won't restore it will just show another error code and that their IPad was utterly dead. Any help to save my IPad? Anyone?

    Hi,
restore it will just show another error code
Error messages are very important. They are used to for troubleshooting.
    Try here. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
If the error included a number, see if it's listed at that link.
Windows users usually have to disable their anti virus software and the Firewall in order to sync their iOS devices.
If necessary, you can make a reservation at a Genius Bar from that link.

  • HT4623 I have attempted to update the iOS to 7 on my iPad currently on iOS 5.1.1   When I select general software update, I get the message my iPad software is up to date and does not give me an option to update to 7.  How do I resolve?

When attempting to update my iPad from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 7, I continue to get the message my software is up to date instead of getting a download prompt for iOS 7.  Anyone else experience similar issue?  If so, how do I resolve?

You can't resolve the issue, because the original iPad can only be updated to iOS 5.1.1 and no further.
