trying to update to ios 7, and after partial download getting message "you do not have permission to access the requested resource" any suggestions?

All of Apple's servers...including the activation servers are pretty much flooded with users like you doing the same thing. Be patient and keep at it...or wait till the traffic to them has decreased and then try again. Coming back to it tomorrow  (if that's a viable option for you) will likely increase your chances of not having issues.

  • Ipad 2 stuck in recovery mode after updating to IOS 5, Unknow error -1

    Hi Everyone,
my Ipad 2 is stuck in recovery mode after updating to the latest IOS 5. Tried to restore, it comes up with unknown error -1.
Ive tried all that I can including the tips given in the apple forums and internet. Please help.

    Hello soccerlime,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
The error code "9006" in iTunes when updating or restoring your device indicates that access to the iTunes update servers is being blocked.  Please take a look at the information below to help resolve this error.
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • Updating to iOS 5, getting error 1602 message...

    Hey all,
as like many i've been having trouble updating my iPhone to iOS 5.
I've been getting the error code 1602.  I've read online that everyone is getting error 3200 resulting from overloaded servers.
Is the 1602 error happening because of the servers or is this a different error altogether?
Anyone know how to get around this? My phone is currently in Recovery Mode...updates continue to get the same error 1602
    Any help would be appreciated!!
    Thanks!

I have the same problem, error 1602, when trying to update to the latest iOS 5.
I have a Macbook Pro running Windows 7 64-bit, running Kaspersky anti-virus, the new iTunes (12 October 2011), and an iPhone 4 (32 GB).
    1) Last night the first problem I had was a failure to backup the iPhone, so I gave up.
    2) Today, I managed to backup the iPhone, but then it froze in the Recovery Mode (see image #4 in the 2nd article below), and was unrecognized by iTunes.
    - I disabled my Kaspersky anti-virus software (which has caused problems always in the past with all other iPhone iOS updates and downloads)
    - I restarted iTunes twice, but it failed to recognize the iPhone
    - I did a forced restart (holding the home button + on/off button) and it managed to finally get it recognized, and then it asked to restore, which it is doing.
    - It restored to factory settings, and it is now recognized in iTunes again and it is restoring from the backup (5 mins +/-).
    - Now it has rebooted and is finalizing the Restore (very long and vague amount of time, depending on the size of data (music, apps, etc) to transfer.
I have clicked through these Apple Support articles already for guidance:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275 - The first support I read, but I knew my USB wasn't the problem.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1602  - The most helpful so far
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - This is what I then tried, by doing a forced restart
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 - Additional resources if needed
This seems to have worked for now, it is still copying over the content from the backup. I hope it is iOS 5 on it!
Good luck, such an annoying process, I really hate installing the new iOS, there are ALWAYS problems.
    DMR.

  • IPhone 4 error while updating to iOS 5 - An error occurred while restoring this iPhone (-35).

After taking over an hour to backup and restore my iPhone to iOS 5 iTunes gave me that error:
An error occurred while restoring this iPhone (-35).
    Anyone know what this is?
None of my apps have been restored, or settings.

Try it again. Or un plug and try again.
Sometimes I have found if the server is busy it will not verify the phone and you start to loose things. If a back up was done before upgrade you will not have lost stuff.

  • Updating to iOS beta5 + Connecting errors with iTunes

    Hi guys,
I have a really bad problem:
I didn't want to update the software of my iPod touch (5. gen) to the 5th beta version, but when I turned my iPod on a few hours ago, it shows me a screen like when you have to set up a new one. It was a little bit confusing... I linked the Pod with my MacBook and wanted to restore the iPod in the Xcode Organizer. He extracted the software image and opened it, everything was fine. But suddenly, during he was going to finish the process, he showed me a warning window and told me that he cannot open the software image. I can't remember the exact warning but he sayed something like that.
After this, I tried to restore the iPod through iTunes. He loaded the iOS 6.0.1 image and tried to put it on my iPod a couple of times but finished the process always by poping up a warning which told me that the process failed or that the image has a damage. After propably 5 or 6 times, the process successeded, but then I tried to restore the iPod again through the Xcode Organizer to put on the iOS 6.1 Beta5 again. Same procedure as before restoring through iTunes. It failed and I tried to put back on iOS 6.0.1 but since the process failed a second time in Xcode, he's telling my in iTunes when I try to put the 6.0.1 image on that such a file is already existing.
What can I do or what should I do that it will working fine? I'm not so happy with beta versions on my new iPod so please tell me how iOS 6.0.1 will work on my Pod.
    thanks
    PS:
I've also an other problem with iTunes... every time I connect a device to iTunes it pops up and says that "Datenklasseninformationen konnten nicht erstellt werden. etc" ("Data class information (??) couldn't be made"). That's a problem I've got since.... yeah I think I have those problems since I've updated to the 2nd Beta Version of iOS and/or Xcode46-DP2.

  • Unable to update to iOS 8.0 Error says - "The iphone MyIphone could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (3004) "

Although i am able to connect to iTunes store, when i run Network Connectivity Tests in diagnostics in iTunes, it shows as follows -
The latest version of the OS has been downloaded on my system but whenever I try to update, the error message pops up. The error message pops just when these steps start to occur - "Contacting the iphone activation server", "Contacting the iphone for software update". Please help.

Still nothing. I turned off my Windows Firewall and also disabled my Avast Antivirus Software and then tried to update my iphone but the same error message popped up again.
Please look at the following results that I got when I ran diagnostics -
It says that "Connection attempt to firmware update server was unsuccessful". Any ideas what i should interpret from it?

  • Error while trying to update to ios 5

I keep getting an error while trying to update to iOS 5. I update iTunes this morning to the lastest version so I know that isn't the problem. I have tried restarting both my computer and my phone, but contine getting "The iPhone could not be restore. An unknow error occurred (3194)." PLease help! Thanks in advance

I am also getting the error 43 when the update tries to back the phone up. Im using the latest version of itunes. This is on an iphone4, I am in the UK.
I tried deleting all of the historical backups to see if a fresh backup folder helps. It did not.
Ive tried running iTunes in 'administrator' mode on my Windows 7 machine. This made no difference.
Ive tried putting the phone in airplane mode. No difference.
I tried getting it into restore mode just to see if it worked on a iphone4. However it did not seem to want to do it.
Im not not too sure about proceeding with this update as I done want to loose any of the apps I have. (or 3 my 3 stars in every angry birds level on all 3 versions of the game!!)
    Please someone, HELP !! !!

  • IPhone4s updated to IOS.7 unable to sync music with iTunes after updated to 11.1

I just recently updated both my iPhone4s to IOS.7 and iTunes to 11.1, but since then I haven't been able to sync any of my music.
    I tried everything:
    - I restarted my iTunes and iPhone and my PC a couple of times
    - Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes
    - Syncing with wifi and other options repeatedly *Manually managing music as well
    - thorough check of album or song errors
    - restored iPhone
    - creating a new library playlist
    - and other suggested measures to be taken provided through discussions
At the end it always ends up syncing to the very last step "Waiting for changes to be applied" ; everything is working nothing is frozen or glitched, the syncing arrows that go around also work, but after sometime the arrows stop and then it just doesn't seem to proceed after that step.
Can someone please find a solution for this? Or atleast give me some other methods that might solve my problem. If this is a bug, please do make some update arrangements to fix this error! >.<

    - Downgrading the iPod is not supported by Apple.
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try restoring your iPod. First from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • "No sim installed" error after updating to iOS 5.1

A notification popped up this morning asking me to update to iOS 5.1 so I updated it. Once I downloaded and installed it, it said "no sim installed". I have rebooted my phone, taken out and put back in the sim but the error message remains. I can't make calls or message, but my internet works. Anything else I can try?

i have the same problem with the 4s.  I have a (cutdown) sim from virgin (in the UK), who do not offer the iphone, but it worked perfectly until this upgrade (to ios 5.1).  The phone was bought unlocked from apple.  now i have the no sim error.  I am trying a restore and have booked a genius bar appt for later today.  I have a very expensive touch at present.  The sim is working fine in my old nokia, so it is not the sim that is faulty.  What is going on here, why would i want to upgrade if this just creates problems.  I have been up since 5am now trying to sort this so i have a phone again.
