I have xcode 4.3.2 and  iOS simulator Version 5.1 (272.21). But this course is on iOS 6. If I upgrade my iOS from 5.1 to 6.0 then do I have to upgrade my Xcode also? So my question is all my old Xcode project which I have tried with Xcode 4.3.2 will be still there because I do not want to destroy them.
I have a MacBook Pro (Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b). Please let me know about upgrading iOS version so that I will be able to do the class project.

To program for iOS 6, you need iOS 6 SDK. You need to download Xcode 4.5.x. But don't worry. All your previous projects are still alive and you are able to open them in the new Xcode.

Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

  • I want to update my ipod but im concerned it will delete my apps because ive spent money on them if i re donload them if it does delete my apps will i have to start over on them?

what it says up there please help me

    - If you update by wifi (iOS 5 only) then unless things go very wrong, you will lose nothing. You can also backup to iCloud and then restore via wifi from that icloud backup and get thngs back
    - If you update by USB then you have to have the apps in your iTunes library in order from them to be restored to the iPod during a latter part of the update.  The first step of a USB update is for iTunes to make a backup but the backup does not contain synced itmes like apps and music.  If the apps are not in the iTunes library and synced to the iPod then the backup has no place to put the apps data.
    - You can always redownload apps but that does not include the app data.

You may need to try this More than Once...
Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

i just gotted a ipad air and decided to updated it to modern times. since i done that i cant get any apps or get the apps to do the 'wobbly' thing if i want to move or get rid of the apps.
if there is a way for me to download apps or get rid of the apps i have now then please tell me.
    HELP!
i can still see logos for the apps and go search for them but when i click on the app it just give the discription of it and not the the little button that is suppose to say 'install for free' or '$$$"

Yeah, I know I can restore it, but I might as well go ahead and try. I just finished a backup for icloud and itunes to make sure, I'll go ahead and restore it and set it up as new and see how that works. Seems like I have no other options at this point, I'd still like to know what they did with the Download tab in itunes store, if they removed it or if I'm just overlooking it.

  • Hi Guys, Im getting a secnond-hand Iphone 4S and im going to use it as an ipod. How will i set it up if i dont want a SIM Card?? And if i use a SIM card for the activation then can i take it out??

Hi Guys, so im getting an iphone 4S as a hamy-down and im gonna use it as an ipod without a SIM Card. Im going to put my backup data on it from my old device. How will I activate it? Can i use my family members SIM (SIM that has been used in an iPhone before) to activate it,  then can i take it out and use it without a SIM.
    Regards, PulseSol

You can't activate any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed. So, yes, you'll need a sim card to activate the phone. The sim itself need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. While you can remove it, after the phone is activated, I recommend you don't. If you ever need to restore the phone, or update the iOS, you'll need a sim card installed to do so.
Make sure whoever is furnishing the phone to you, follows the directions here, before you get the phone:

  • IOS for iPhone won't show up only iOS for Mac will

When I try to get the beta update for iOS on iPhone nothing shows up for the iPhone. It only shows up for Mac. And it's been that way since before iOS 3 was released for everyone

Sam here. I have an original iPhone 8gb - always been really good and reliable and I have no real need to upgrade it. I have a MacBook Pro latest OS and I have a problem. My iPhone will not show up on iTunes when I want to sync them. It used and now it doesn't
I have been through the Apple help pages and followed every last instruction to the letter, changing USB port, on/off, hard resets, uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it, zapping the P-RAM, three different cables, and nothing. It is driving me absolutely mad.
    Anyone ...anything ...please.

  • My ipad 2 will not download apps how do i fix this?

My ipad 2 will not download apps when i try to download them they just say waiting and it does this every time I try.

I had ipad2 almost for eight months and recenytly had problem with appstore but now it is working like before. I exactly did these things:
Remove those recent app that couldn't insall completely (check your itune and remove your old updates list) and
go to setting store and sign out of apple ID and sign in again plus turn off all of the automatic updating
check your available storage (anyway I'm sure you did)
I also remove all of the app that i heard they have problem somehow like google and angry bird...

  • So, my ipod touch is running 5.1.1 and is slow and sometimes unresponsive. According to Apple it will not update to iOS 6. It is a 32GB, 3rd Generation. I want the new features but it's making me mad. I do not want to jailbreak. HELP?!

So, my IPod touch is running 5.1.1 and is slow and sometimes unresponsive. According to Apple it will not update to iOS 6. It is a 32GB, 3rd Generation. I want the new features but it's making me mad. I do not want to jailbreak. As this would void my device from Apple. I love the features iOS 6 has to offer but I don't want to put out anymore money. IPods are expensive enough, Should I use blobs? Or would that make my device worse. Plus I do not want to pay $20.00 for a chat and have to wait all day to someone who I can't understand on the telephone. someone help me please.

    For the slowness:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • If I update to ios 7 then will it set my phone to factory settings?

If I update to ios 7 then will it set my phone to factory settings?

No. It either updates in place or backs up then restores all your content.
Make sure you back up the phone first though.

  • After downloading the lastest update, IOS 6, my iphone will not download apps.

after downloading the lastest update, IOS 6, my iphone will not download apps. help

I'm having the same problems. Can't even find out if Apple is working on it. Tried to downgrade but is not supported by apple so error 3194 comes up which is verifying with the apple web site. Which then stops everything. I understand you can modify the "hosts" file to by pass the issue, but hate doing that as it gets involved. May try it if I can't get any satisfaction from apple.

  • HT1386 When I update my IPad to the IOS 5 system will I lose my apps that I purchased from the ITunes store?

I have an IPad 2.  I want to update it to an IOS 5.  Will I lose my apps that I purchased from the ITune store?

What you should do anytime that you update the device is to transfer purchases from the iPad into iTunes - File>Transfer Purchases - and you should backup the iPad as well. When you update the update the device, if something goes wrong, you can restore from the backup.
However, iTunes should ask if you want to backup before you update, but just in case create the backup yourself before you update. The backup contains your app data and settings  - so make sure you backup first. If something goes awry when you update, with regard to apps, you can download them again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with.
If you have any other important files, you may want to transfer them to your computer as well, prior to the update.
    Transfer purchases.
