Updating to iOS 7.1.1 SMS now receiving as Apple ID with iMessage.
My Wife and I both use an iPhone 5S, my wife updated to iOS 7.1.1 (I was still using iOS 7.0.1) and once completed I sent her an SMS. It came in on the blue bubble like always which is iMessage but instead of showing it came from my mobile number (the current message thread) it started a new message thread through iMessage and showed it came from my Apple ID.
If you reply to the orginal message thread (phone number) it looks like it sent but the other person never receives the message. If she replies to the message showing my Apple ID we can text all day long.
Fix: This had to be done on both phones: Turn off iMessage and then both people erase ALL of the message threads between them, toggle iMessage back on and now all of the SMS back and forth will show they are coming from the phone number (still blue bubbles- AKA: iMessage).
I know of one other firend of mine that had this issue after the update, has anyone else experainced this?
Sorry, I should have provided more detail. In both of our phones under Settings> Messages> Send & Receive. We showed our phone numbers with a check mark under the "Start new conversation".
Under the "You can be reached by iMessage at" field we both showed our phone number and Apple ID and both had a check mark next to them.
The idea is you should not have to remove the check from the Apple ID in this field as the update should not mess with your current messaging.
Did this also happen to you? If so I am guessing removing the check mark resolved your issue but if you put the check back on the Apple ID does your resort back to sending the message to the other person with your Apple ID again?

My gen 3 iPod Touch seems to have duplicated all my music since updating to IOS 5 so that it now only holds half as much. What can I do about it? I'm using the same iTunes library with OS 10.6 and all software up to date.
Is the camera damaged? Could be a hardware problem.
Try:
Close the Camera app in the multitasking bar, then try again.
Restart/Reset/Restore your iPod. In that order. -

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever. -
I have been trying to update to IOS 6 for 3 days now - my Iphone4S is in middle of restore and it gets so far then stops - no error messages - the bar does not move further. it stops at different places -

My passcode requirement was turned off prior to updating to iOS 7.
It is now requiring my Passcode, but I cannot remember it! And computer won't let me synch because "Find My iPad" app is turned on, which I obviously cannot turn off without getting into iPad Settings.

I updated to iOS 7 with no issues. Last night I went to update to iOS 7.0.3 and now my iPad wants me to connect it to iTunes. I tried holding down both buttons to restart and get the same message.

seems like your phone isn't activated properly. try doing a hard reset (hold power+home until phone restarts).
if you have a CDMA carrier, this might not fix it for you. call the carrier and ask them to reset the activation. -

Got my ipad mini. It works perfectly fine until I updated to ios 6.0.2. Now I can't connect to wifi. I've tried every solutions offered in every forums and internet sites but nothing happened. Still ipad cannot connect to wifi. HELP!!!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
