Updating to itunes 11 on my DELL laptop

After updating to itunes 11 on my DELL laptop my audio device no longer - error message says No audio output device is installed. I have checked the drivers and they are still there. Anyone else experienec the same problems ??

Just updated to Itunes 11 on Imac and lost the recognition of external speakers (Harman Kardon Soundsticks), which no longer appear in the 'output' section of Sound, in System Preferences.
Latest Itunes may control what you can use as an 'external'? See the following page:

    Hi Gabriel,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are receiving errors in Windows after updating iTunes, I recommend completely removing and reinstalling the software using the instructions in this article:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
When reinstalling iTunes (step 3 in the article above), be sure that you are logged in to your computer as an Administrator:
Make sure you have an administrator account.
To install iTunes or QuickTime, you need to log in as an administrator on the computer. If you're not sure you have an administrator account, you may find this Microsoft article helpful: Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator? You can refer to the Help documentation from Microsoft, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for more information.

I recently tried to upgrade my itunes on my dell laptop with 64 bit windows 7. It stopped working so I deleted all files and tried to reinstall and haven't been able to since. I've tried numerous things i've read in forums and nothing seems to work. The installation will not move past the "publishing product information" point. After being stuck there for a while this error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",process or Architecture="x86"', Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736FD
I hope someone is able to help me with this.

Did you already try what bnoir suggested in this post about error 0x800736FD:
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736FD, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?
This thread might help as well, suggestion provided by bnoir:
In general, these ones tend to be caused by underlying problems on the PC that can prevent Windows Updates from installing. So my main strategy with them is to try to fix the Windows Update issues. If we can get Windows Updates flowing again, that generally clears up the iTunes install errors +en passant.+
Head into your Windows Update, and check for any new updates. Do any fail? If so, open your Update History and doubleclick on the failure entries to bring up a small box with alphanumeric error message codes. Are you getting 8000FFFFs? (They often seem to be associated with an iTunes-install 0x800736FD.)
If you're getting 8000FFFFs, try the following Microsoft document:
    [Windows Update Error 8000FFFF|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error- 8000FFFF]
Head back to Windows Update, and stock up on any updates you're behind on. Once you're completely up to date in that regard, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Hello everybody, Im trying to update my ITunes on my MAC (laptop) to the newer version so I can then be able to update the latest updates for my Iphone-3G. I don’t require a complete reinstall just need to be able to update my itunes.
What I have tried so far is I had my MAC search for update’s and it said that I should update to (ITunes version  10 . 6 . 3 ) So I asked it to do the update but after 2hrs of waiting for it to download/update it then puts up a message saying the following- (In order to continue installation, please close the following application: ITunes).
When I tried to do this another message comes up that says- (The update ITunes can’t be installed. The following install step failed: run preupgrade script for Apple mobile device support. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
I have also tried to run the update while having closed ITunes before I even start the update but the same problem happens after waiting about 2hrs.
Some one that had the same problem said this might be happening in the older operating systems. But that does not make sense because surely Apple want customers who own a MAC and i-phone to still buy from iTunes.
My MAC is about 4-5years old. I have a i-phone.3G,
Can anybody help me please and Thank you?

Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page. Then run the update with iTunes closed.

  • Just downloaded iTunes to new dell laptop, tried syncing my iPhone get an error message:  "this iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started".  What does this mean? I have had this phone for over a year..

Just downloaded iTunes to new dell laptop, tried syncing my iPhone get an error message:  "this iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started".  What is the issue, had this phone over a year??

I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck!

If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
The iPod should appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Select it there.  To the right, its Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs ot the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  This is the switch to enable automatic syncing.  If your iTunes music library fits on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then select what you want on the iPod from the lists below.
Click Apply to intiate automatic syncing between that iTunes library and your iPod (based on how the iPod's Music screen is set up in iTunes).

there are a number of scenarios to do it.
The general idea was covered here:

Make sure you have a full backup of your iPhone before recyncing with the iMac as during this process all data will be wiped out from your iPhone.
Going forward you may want to check icloud which makes life easier.

  • Can't install iTunes on new Dell laptop

I bought a Dell laptop running Windows 7. I can download but not install iTunes. I have tried turning off the pop-up blocker and suspending Norton Antivirus' firewall. Any suggestions? I can't access my full iTunes account that shows previous purchases. And when I plug in my iPod Touch and my new iPad, the computer recognizes them but nothing happens with the iTunes website.

    many thanks.
Are you using Internet Explorer for the download?
If so, fingers crossed the following documents might be of some assistance:
How to download iTunes when Internet Explorer information bar appears
iTunes: Downloading iTunes for Windows using Internet Explorer
If no joy there, try switching off any pop-up blockers or web accelerators you may have running. (They can also interfere with downloads in this sort of way.)

  • How to transfer iTunes library from Dell Laptop to new MacBook Pro?

I need to know if it is possible to transfer music from my itunes library on my Dell Laptop to my new laptop (MacBook Pro)

Yes - use Migration Assistant - either the Mac or Windows version. The Mac version will be in your Applications>Utilities folder or you can download the Windows version -->> http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1557.

  • Itunes on My Dell Laptop - Won't Work

I once had Itunes working on my laptop, but now an error message appears whenever I try to launch it. The message says:
The instruction at "0x00f31194" referenced memory at "0x0962c000." The memory could not be "read."
Then it tells me to either hit "OK" to continue or "Cancel" to debug. I've hit both and nothing happens.
I tried uninstalling ITunes and reinstalling it. No luck.
    can anyone help me??
    Thanks,

If you are sharing your internet connection via Airport on your iMac, then when you use a WEP password only Macs can connect.
The only solution is to get a wireless base station or live without a password (not recommended).

  • Problems with updating iTunes, etc. on Dell Laptop/XP

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop that uses XP. Some time ago, the machine would no longer update iTunes properly.  I attempted to completely uninstall, but that didn't work either - there are remnants in the program menu, but it doesn't seem to want to uninstall.  I would like to remove every last remnant of the old installation and start from scratch with new.  Help.  This is driving me crazy.

    Hi Friend,
While your idevices still having apps downloaded by the old Apple ID, Apple Store will ask you for the old Apple ID and password to updated them. But, if you delete all apps downloaded by the old Apple ID, then download again by the new Apple ID, Apple Store will not ask you anymore for the old one.
    Hope it helps

  • I encounter the "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved.  An unknown error occurred(-50)." every time i start itunes on my dell laptop which is running windows 7. How do i resolve this?

    (-50)

Try signing out of the iTunes Store, closing iTunes, then reopening. Does the error occur?
See also Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows. Not sure it is relevant but can't hurt.
It may help to exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time anti-virus scanner.

  • TS4085 I have Airplay on my Dell laptop with itunes.  When I connect to my Denon RCD-N7 they stay connected for about 30 mins.  Then connection is lost.

I have itunes on my Dell laptop with airplay.  Which is connected to my ipad2 and Denon RCD-n7.  When I stream music from my Dell to the Denon using Airplay.  It stays connected for about 30 mins then it disconnects..  I get a notice on itunes that it has lost connection with the Denon. How can I stop it from disconnecting?

I have a dell laptop with itunes and air play disconnects after about 30 minutes of streaming to apple tv as remote speakers. I have to forcibly restart the device. if I use the menu option to turn and off the airplay option it still does not work. Network connection is fine since other devices do not lose connection. Is there a solution? is it a defect with the unit? did I get one that should be replaced?

  • Trouble with 2006-06-28 Updater and iTunes

    Hello all,
Okay so my problem deals more with the software for my iPod rather than the iPod itself. My iPod work wonderfully with no problems whatsoever. (Forget the fact this is my second one because the first one DIED sniff sniff) But here's the thing. I recently installed the latest update for iTunes on my Toshiba laptop and when I went to plug in my iPod it didn't recognize it. So I went to the Apple website and installed the latest updater for my 30GB iPod. But every time I try to update my iPod, I get the following error message: "iPod Service Error"
I have done everything suggested on the iPod support site and I have uninstalled and reinstalled both iTunes and the iPod updater and still nothing seems to be working. I don't think anything is wrong with my iPod but I could be wrong. If anyone has had (or is currently having) this problem could you help me please!!!!!!!!!
    30GB IPOD   Windows XP

I am having a similar problem since the update, but with my iBook and OS X. My iPod isn't showing up in iTunes or OS X.
I have tried to restore the iPod, but it doesn't appear in OS X, so I don't know how I can otherwise do so.
