Updating to itunes version 7.2!

Help!
I can't download any music because I have to upgrade to version 7.2 (I am on version 7). I clicked on the link and the computer downloaded it, and beeped at me when it had finished. I couldn't see any new icons on the desk top, and I had asked it to replace the old itunes.
However, after I had restarted the pc, my old version is still on there.
How can I get version 7.2 working? What have I done wrong?!

man, iTunes 7.5 is out since some times now... just go here: http://apple.com/itunes/download and download the latest version of iTunes!

    Hi there MRDLS,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

  • Problems detected after updating to iTunes version 11.1.3.8

Problems detected after updating to iTunes version 11.1.3.8 for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit version, Service Pack 1.
USB connected iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.4) is not recognised in iTunes.
    Sluggish response when starting iTunes.
    Any known remedy?

After updating to the newest version of iTunes which is 11.1.3.8, I can no longer edit song information because whenever I click Get Info, the program crashes. It says, "iTunes has stopped working...". I literally tried all the troubleshooting techniques here but to no avail!
    I already:
Reinstalled iTunes and other related programs like a hundred times
    Scanned my computer for viruses
Opened iTunes on another user account
    Opened iTunes on safe mode
    Removed unusable configuration files
BUT STILL, the problem persists. I have the same version of iTunes on my office computer and it works perfectly fine but I want my iTunes here at home to get fixed. Never had problems with editing song information until I updated it to 11.1.3.8.
I just don't know what to do anymore. I updated this program last January 1 and until now I haven't found any solution. It's really getting on my nerves!!!

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Update for iTunes version 11.1.4.62

Once again tried to install new update for iTunes and once again the version would not install.  Had an error code of MSVCR80.dll is missing.  Another error that stated there was a corrupted file.  Doesn't Apple test their updates?  Third time this has happened.  Usually I can go back to an older version.  For some reason after attempting a manual installation, no older version exists and I am wary that uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes will not erase my library.  Any suggestions? Thanks.

Rip it up and start again. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

I updated my itunes on the computer last night to the latest version and it wouldn't recognize my phone so I figured I needed to update my phone to ios7 but that didn't help. Should I have updated the phone through the computer first? And do I now need to uninstall/reinstall itunes to get things working again?  Thanks for any help that you can provide.

  • Probles with updated to iTunes version 10.2.2.12 on Windows XP

I run Windows XP on an older model Dell Inspiron notebook. I updated iTunes to the latest version last night, 10.2.2.12, and when I restarted the computer, I noticed when it booted up that my personal settings had been zapped, so my desktop had a different look, and many program icons were missing. Also, the new version of iTunes had 0 of the 500+ songs I own.
Has anyone else suffered serious problems like this after installing the new iTunes version? If so, what is the fix?
    Thanks. JCA, Napa, CA.

Well, I admit the possibility of a post hoc ergo propter hoc issue with assuming the iTunes version update caused the problem with Windows XP not "remembering" my personal settings.
But I have successfully installed iTunes updates for approximately the last two years, and never had the new version of iTunes fail to find and load my old music library, and that is part of what happened to me last night.
Are you sure this is a Windows XP malfunction, and not something related to the iTunes installation??? Thanks.

  • ITunes will not download update (either iTunes versions or iPhone software)

Need some help with a connection problem. iTunes will not fully download either an iTunes update or the iPhone software update. I am quite sure the problem is the wireless connection but I don't know how to solve.
I am running Belkin Wireless N networking with Windows XP Media Center with all updates and iTunes is the only place I have an issue. If I run a hard line to my router and hook to the LAN card, all downloads work fine. If I try to use the wireless, I get this message when I try to get the iPhone software update. "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "XXX's iPhone". The network connection was reset. I get the same message when I try to download an iTunes update.
Any ideas on what to do to get around this?
    Thanks for the help.

I have updated the firmware on my router, reinstalled the driver for the wireless in the PC, cleared all temp files and cache. I got iTunes to update itself. However, the 3.0.1 iPhone update will not get fully downloaded before the connection resets. I tried it 3 times last night and got to 260M the 1st time, 220 the 2nd time, and 10M the 3rd time. Is there a direct weblink to the iPhone software update that I could try to get with a browser?
    Thanks
