Updating to Mac OSX Lion in Turkey through the USA APP store
I purchased Mac OSX Lion (because I have a 2009 MBP Pro 4gigs of ram 2.66 core 2 duo) so I could run Adobe Creative Cloud apps. I am currently residing in Turkey until June for study and when I try to download OSX Lion the icon labeled "download" goes from gey to white and a spinning animation appears but nothing happens.
Is it because I purchased OSX Lion on the USA app store that it will not download in Turkey?
As long as you are signed into your account in the US store I don't think that it should matter.
This is almost a 4 GB file that you are downloading. It takes awhile, especially with a slow connection.

Given that your answer to 1. is 'pre-installed' and 3. is 'No', I think the only thing to do is to take it to an Apple store (ideally the one you bought it from) and have them reinstall it for you.
The intended solution in cases like yours is that you should be able to reboot and install even a wiped disk by using Apple's servers over the internet (you do this by restarting with 'command-r' and choosing 'reinstall Lion'). However if this isn't working for you then you need to get the store to do it. Don't let them fob you off with 'go home and try again'. Have them do it in the shop (you're still covered by Applecare warranty so it should cost you nothing save the inconvenience of the trip and possibly leaving the machine there while they fix it).
A reinstall should leave all your own personal data and programs in place.
Note for future: when you get it fixed, first thing to do is buy a cheap external drive and start keeping a backup (either Time Machine or clone with Carbon Copy Cloner).

As long as you have a form of payment (credit or debit card) with a USA source, and with a billing address in the USA, then you just need to change your payment information on your account to that, change your country in the store settings, and you will then be able to shop in the USA store.
Your AppleID will work in any country's store, as long as your payment source and billing addres are also specific to that country (and you are in that country as well, as there may be IP filters in place to stop use outside of the country). -

I bought a subscription to a magazine on the app store, and now I cannot get any more issues as the USA app store has taken the app off the store.
I think I should have at least been advised and offered a refund for the portion of the subscription left.
What actually happens though?

PhilAn iPod formatted for Mac won't run natively on a PC because the Windows OS does not support the HFS Plus file system and therefore will not see the drive. I wake the computer from sleep and then it freezes either within 5 minutes or it could take an hour.
Try to repair disc permissions. Also see if MSOffice is compatible with Lion.

Mac OSX mavericks - can't change the default app for InDesign
I have a problem that the InDesign CS6 stubbornly changes back the default file-type association for the .indd and .indb file types.
I tried to change it via Get Info - then it immediately changes back to InDesign CS6. Also tried with RC default App, but it forgets my setting immediately when I make them for InDesign CS5, and for CS6 it doesn't allow that I make it.
The only way that it works, is if I put the InDesign CS6 folder to Trash, and then change the file-type association - but then only until I start again InDesign CS6 which changes back all the file-type associations.
My workflow is like that, that I'm working on many projects, and my main clients use CS5, but some use CS6 - so I need both of them, but that CS5 is the main program. How can I fix this problem?

THanks, GasEdit: Disregard. It worked for some text/ files but not video/x-... So I guess I still have the same problem.
The same thing happened to me.
I deleted (probably safer to first rename)
~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list
Then I ran
kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental
I'm not sure if the first step was necessary, but it worked for me.

I am sure that the app is still available. The apps are shown in search results, so they have to be in the store.
@ razmee: As i say. This happens to every paid app i try try to download. Even such common apps as "cut the rope experiments" e.g. (and you will agree, that this app is available, won't you ?) -

My MacBook pro late 2011 i7 8GB 750GB MAC OSX Lion (up to date) 1 week old freezes on wake up.
Plugged on power or not, same issues.
No apps running.
When it goes to sleep itself i wake it up it freezes for few seconds
When i put it to sleep mode same issue.
With the lid same issue...
I already try setting up the sleep mode from 3 to 0 with terminal command it didn't work.
Can it be an hardware issue ?

Here is the update.
As TheSmokeMonster mentionned (above) they asked me to reinstall MAC OSX Lion by shutting down the computer and holding cmd + R while switching it off. Then you choose the language and you are good to go for a looooonngg 4GB download (it took me 8hours yeah chinese ADSL :-/ )
Lion reinstalled itself automatically and restarted. - it did not solve the issue.
I called Apple Care again and we try to run the hardware diagnostic by restarting the computer and holding D. FYI do not try it as this command does not work on the new version of macbook pro.
Here is the intersting part! As the Apple Care already did everything they could to help me. We booked an appointment the my local Apple Store in Shanghai (a real one )
The Genius remake again the SMC and PRAM reset - same issues and he also tried to boot Lion from his own external hard drive - Same issues. So we started to think that it was a Hardware problem.
We tried another MBP 13'' late 2011 (last hardware update) in the shop to see if it works properly and it DOESN'T!
Yeah you heard me. I have been trying more than 10 MBP 13'' (2.4Ghz 4GB and 2.8Ghz 4GB) put them asleep and they all freeze on wake up!! it also does it on Mac book air 13'' it seems to be a global issue on all the new 13'' machines. A compatibility problem between Lion and the new hardware architecture of the 13'' ? just my guess.
Anyway FYI this issue doesn't occur on MBP 15 and 17"
I was just amazed by this global problem so was the genuis. We could not find any solutions cause even a replacement one will have the same problem. They told me i could change for a 15" but i had to go back to the Apple shop where i bought it which is 2000Kms away not really convenient So i file the cas and i took my MBP 13'' back with me.
They will contact me later for further explanation.

Why is Lion Server not available in UK App Store
I am trying to upgrade my old Mac Mini (running Snow Leopard Server) to Lion + Server
When I try to install Lion, it reports Lion Server must be present before installation starts.
So I go App Store and in my purchases there is Lion Server. It reports 'Requires OS X 10.7'.
If I click on the link 'Requires OS X 10.7'. App Store takes me to Mountain Lion app.... Grrr....
If I click on OS X Lion Server (in my purchases) the App Store says. 'The item you've requested in not currently available in the UK Store'.
I see Lion Server on the US App Store but not the UK one.
Why is Lion Server removed from the UK App Store?A further update to this. I can still download Lion Server (from my purchases list) on a machine running Lion.
But I cannot download Lion Server (from my purchases list) on a machine running Snow Leopard Server!!!! -

The application can't be updated due to the presence of Mac Osx 10.7.5. I updated the software of my mac to the latest update and still the application can't be updated. I'm using Mac osx lion (10.7.4)!?

Firefox cannot install the updates on my Mac OSX Lion
Firefox tells me there is an update. I click install, but it just sticks at the downloading screen (for hours if I let it) and cannot download. This has been happening ever since I changed to Mac OSX Lion on the new MacBook Air.

Trying to update from Mac OSX 10.7.2 to 10.7.4 via the Updater. Update Not Verified?
Trying to update from Mac OSX 10.7.2 to 10.7.4 via the Updater. Getting a message half way through the download stating the updated "could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading." Any ideas for picking up the latest Update?

MattEither try redownloading or try downloading the standalone updater: OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo).
Such errors may be caused by glitches in your Internet connection or because of hard drive problems. I suggest you try the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu. -
How can i update my old 2006 iMac Intel core 2 duo running 10.6.8 to OSX Lion so that I can sync using iCloud with my newer devices? Mountain Lion is not an option for my older model and Lion is no longer available at App store.
