Updating to Mavericks, I lost my Reminders. How can I recover them?

A few days ago, I updated from Mountain Lion to Mavericks.  All went well until I discovered all my Reminders were missing. I can't find any info on what to do about that. I can't find any Reminders data in Time Machine. Any suggestions on how to recover Reminders?

If you have been syncing your phone to back it up with iTunes and haven't synced again since this happened, you could try restoring from your last backup (camera roll photos are included in the backup).  This will revert all settings and data to those contained in the backup, not just photos.  If you have any more recent data you will need to save this first, then do the following:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences, on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
Connect your phone to your computer and right-click on the name of your phone on the left sidebar of iTunes and select Restore from Backup, choose your most recent backup to restore from.
When done, go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.
