Updating to Yosemite Renders Intuos 5 Touch (PTH-650) Glitchy and Useless
This was after updating to Yosemite:
When trying to access the control panel for the settings of the tablet buttons it automatically crashes my System Preferences...
Essentially I can't toggle the on/off switch for the touch feature,
with the touch feature always activated it frequently will zoom around the document not reading my hand motions correctly...
CC 2014 - iMac 27" Late 2012 - 2.9GHz Intel Core i5 - 32 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB
Oh I think you got something there...!
I'll get back to this thread after the weekend so I can use it thoroughly,
but as of now I think this might be it...!
Thank You!

On two different occasions after updating to Yosemite this has happened. On the first occasion I had two documents open in Microsoft Word and after looking something up on Safari, attempted to go back to the two open documents. Microsoft Word was showing as open, but the documents were nowhere to be seen and I also could open nothing else and was forced to force quit without saving my work on those documents.
A similar thing occurred today with Safari. I had many tabs open in one window in Safari. I closed my laptop to move to another room, and upon opening my laptop again Safari was still open, but all my tabs of different research papers I had were gone. When I chose the "reopen all windows from last session" option, it reopened windows I had not had open for many days, and not the ones I had been working off that day.
This is extremely annoying and as a scientist, I was forced to once again look up the many papers I needed for a grant proposal that I had not yet copied down reference information for. Why is this happening?I see you have used Clean My Mac. If you search these forums you will find that running apps like this can cause problems. Start with this link:

After updating my OS to Yosemite 10.10.1 some of my photos will not display. All of the previews will be there but when I click to open them they open up larger for a second and then the screen goes black and I get a grey apostrophe sign. I updated iPhoto to 9.6 (910.29) and also repaired my permissions. The problem still exists. Can anyone help me? I also have issues with iTunes but that's another story.
According to the link I provided it could still have its logging service running. Did you read the info in the link I provided? You can check it by launching Activity Monitor and under CPU search for cleanup.
Since the photos are in the library I don't see the need at this time to reinstall iPhoto. Maybe later. Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox. -
After updating to Yosemite, MacBook Pro freezes every 5 seconds and is unusable.
Macbook pro was working perfectly fine for first day after update, but after a day it freezes and shows the rainbow wheel every 5 seconds so that I can't even use it. I've noticed when it logs in and I have two options of my accnt and guest, then when I put in my password it takes a while to load with a status bar. Then it will freeze after log in.
I have dropped my Macbook once about 5 months ago
Apparently, you suffered internal damage which is now showing up.
What do I do?
Take your MBP to your local AS or an AASP.
If I take it to the Apple store, it will fix things obviously, but will I be charged or what..?

I updated to Yosemite and cannot turn on extensions in Safari
I updated to Yosemite 10.10 on my MacBook Pro and now cannot turn on extensions in Safari (8.0), Preferences, Extensions. When I move the slide button to the "on" position it immediately moves to the "off" position. I turned off all extensions and restarted Safari and it did not help. Thank you for the help.
Howdy peze,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there’s an issue with keyboard shortcuts in one specific app, Safari, since upgrading to OS X Yosemite. Take a look at the article linked below which describes a similar issue and walks you through the process of identifying conflicting keyboard shortcuts.
OS X Yosemite: If a keyboard shortcut doesn’t work
Ciao,

Sound doesn't work after updating to Yosemite.
iTunes, sound effects (swoosh when mail is sent), videos on internet...no sound at all since updating to Yosemite. I press the volume key and get the symbol of a speaker with a circle crossed out beneath it. Not over it, but beneath it. I went into system preferences and sound, but don't really understand what might need to be done there or even if that's where the problem is.
1.Plug in and remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
Try this even if you don’t see the red light.
2. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14222
Do this twice
3. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the appropriate method. -
Laserjet 3050 - problems to print after update to Yosemite
Since I updated to Yosemite, I am having problems printing pdf and image files. Just after clicking "print", the printer says "Printing Document" while the green light flashes. However, nothing happens. The printer goes back to "ready" mode without any printed page.
Other documents from safari, etc. can be printed.
I have seen other people have the same problems but I have not seen a solution.
Can someone help me?You might try installing the 3rd Party Gutenprint driver for your LaserJet 3050. It may provide better support for your printer then the Apple provided driver in Yosemite. You can download this driver here: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php

Slow Macbook after updating to Yosemite 10.10.3
Please see the below report from EtreCheck in regards to this.
Thanks.
Problem description:
Macbook Pro has been running very slowly since updating to Yosemite 10.10.3 (I think thats it) to the point where it has been basically unusable.
There seems to be spikes as to when the Macbook runs most slowly.
Have re-installed OS X a number of times and even restored the Macbook to a point before updating Yosemite to 10.10.3 via TimeMachine.
Other things i have done include:
- Reducing the number of things Spotlight searches for - I have a notification thats says ‘Optimising Your Mac - Performance and Battery life will be affected until completed’ which has been there for over a week now. I had read on some forums this was to do with Spotlight re-indexing, however when checking to find a progress bar there does not appear to be one which suggest Spotlight re-indexing is not the issue.
- Removing unecessary widgets, mail and calendar accounts (Issues with Calendar Agent were showing up in Console)
- Ran EtreCheck and removed a number of .plist files that seemed be an issue. It appears from this report that one still remins for CleanMyMac2 (which I know causes issues). Tried to delete this file but it won't allow me.
There a few others but I’ve been trying so many things Ive lost track.
If someone could help it would be much appreciated.

My steam won't launch ever since I updated to Yosemite I don't know what is going on.
Whenever I try to launch it, it says "Steam quit unexpectedly" I have tried redownloading it 5 times and have every software up to date. I also have tried
deleting all my steam files and it still doesn't work. Here is a screenshot:
I also downloaded a program called EtreCheck that checks for issues so here is what it found:

Muse recently updated with Yosemite Update web fonts not working
I recently updated my OS to Yosemite at work, but not at home. a site that was using font awesome that was working/previewing/exporting/uploaded and functioning fine is now not showing font awesome icons. I didn't upload to the server because even though it previews in Muse fine, they are not shown on export. Even the template files that are the original HTML files (included with the muse template) are not showing the web fonts. I thought it was the operating system but when drop boxed to my computer at home and checked there (Mountain lion OS) It still doesn't show.
I'm not understanding where the issue is. Any thoughts?
Work version is 2014.2, unclear about home version- could possibly not be that update, I think I installed in November. I didn't have any problems with this file since updating to Yosemite at work. Although never went through a final HTML export so I suppose it could have been doing it for the last few weeks I have been working on this site.
Thanks! From the screen shot, I expect you're on Windows and have ClearType turned on (on is the default OS setting). The top text is drawn using Adobe's technology. The bottom would be drawn with ClearType. Microsoft's ClearType technology is one of several font anti-aliasing techniques. ClearType's approach is strongly biased toward making vertical stems appear smooth and of consistent width at the expensive of having horizontal portions of text appear less smooth. If you turn off ClearType on your computer the text will be rendered differently.
Each operating system has it's own approach to drawing text, and in fact both Windows and Mac have multiple approaches. Windows adds numerous end user controls on top of that. And each browser has the freedom to implement different rendering as well. There's nothing under the control of a website authoring tool that can cause live text to have an identical rendering when rendered by different browsers or operating systems.
This is one of the limitations of the web medium.
Cross browser compatibility generally refers to the large category of issues where a browser, or browser version, entirely lacks support for various features of HTML/CSS, implements those features differently from other browsers, or has bugs such that various features either don't function correctly or don't function consistently. Muse contains hundreds of pieces of code to compensate for these idiosyncracies between browsers. -
Update to Yosemite killed my MacBook Pro HELP!!!
I updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite and it has dragged it down incredibly. Every time I click, open, close, type, delete, scroll and move it takes about 15 seconds to process. May not sound to long but it adds up and when it happens for everything I am doing its impossible to get anything done, feels like I have dial up again. I am rather computer illiterate so I have no idea what to do, and am afraid of accidentally destroying my Mac. Only thing I have managed to do was run a diagnostic with Etrecheck. Please HELP!!
Problem description:
i updated to Yosemite and my Mac has slowed down significantly, almost unusable, every action takes what feels like 20 seconds to respond

IMac freezing after update to Yosemite
Hi reader!
I'm struggling with my iMac after I've updated to Yosemite.
Problem description:
My iMac keeps crashing when I launch some specific demanding programs.
I tried to launch a game, Heroes of Newerth, it keeps freezing the iMac totally, after 10-15 sec.
When i launch videos on Facebook it does the same.
I can play movies in VLC and i can surf on the internet, but not watch youtube videos.
I’ve tried deleting apps like Adobe and Java, but can’t seem to delete Java to reinstall it.
These apps are being reinstalled as I write this.
The real issue is, it happened suddenly after some weeks after I updated to Yosemite, and i haven't updated anything else the last 2-3 days.
I am really in a pickle, with exam-reading coming up, and I have a lot of stuff backed up on a USB drive, but not it all.
I can't even get diskwarrior before it freezes up.
My specs are
iMac 24-inch, early 2009
Processor 2,93 GHz Intel core 2 duo
Memory 4 gb 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB
If more is needed, I'll be happy to provide it.
Thanks, appreciate the help! The Etrecheck report:
