Updating video

I have my music set to automatically update all songs and playlists. I have 6 videos in my itunes library, 5 that I got from itunes and the 6th from another source. All 6 play on my ipod. But when I check "do not update videos" the video which I did not obtain through itunes is removed from my ipod. Then when I check "automatically update all videos" this video is put back on my ipod. And back and forth. Nothing, however, happens to the other 5 videos when doing this checking/unchecking. They stay on the ipod. My question is what exactly is happening and why? Thanks.

Reset ATV2, router, and desktop machine and everything appears to be working normally now.

You could try finding somewhere with free WiFi like a coffee shop, shopping mall or fast-food places & downloading on their connection.

Updateing video's on ipod

I cant seem to make it so I can manualy update videos on my ipod when I go to the ipod options by right clicking my ipod icon...can someone help me?

I would suggest that you go to iMovie/Preferences and make sure that Advanced Tools are enabled.
Then, you can drag your new video clip on top of your old clip and a popup menu should appear. Choose REPLACE.

I'm not sure what recourse you really have. My expectation would be that Apple is on the hook to warranty your computer, but they only warrant the machine you've got.
The issue of exchange is fully in the hands of the dealer. If it were Apple, they would likely have had a longer return/exchange period (2 weeks is standard in the US, and I think they use the same timeframe internationally), and there have been some reports of people getting machines exchanged even if they were just outside the 2-week period.
However, with Apple dealers, I think they are a little more concerned about old inventory. Who knows what Apple does when you give them back a last-gen Macbook. They probably sell it at a markdown, but even marked down, they still get a profit (most likely). When an authorized reseller gets stuck with an old machine, they probably have to sell it at a loss. Thus, I would expect resellers to be more afraid of holding onto discontinued models.
That said, if they do a lot of business, they should appreciate the value of customer loyalty: it's usually better to lose money on one purchase than lose a customer (and all their future purchases). If you're a regular customer there, you could point out that disappointment could cause you to go to a competitor. That's playing a bit of hardball though.
However, there is maybe an upshot to all of this... The new 13" model did not get the quad-core CPU's.. And it lost its dedicated graphics adapter. I've seen a decent number of people complaining that the new 13" model is worse than the previous one (the one I'm assuming you've gotten). So it might not be such a bad thing after all.

Unable to update video

When in I tunes, i click on the I pod icon at bottom left and then click on videos......
I'm un able to change the setting to down load Videos.....
It is set to "do not update videos"
its all grey ....

Do you have your music set for Manual Updates?
If so, then that forces the Video to be manual updates as well... and all Video setting in preferences will be greyed out.
You'll need to turn off manual update mode for your music if you wish to modify the video preferences in iTunes.

Since the lastest update, videos will no longer play. They start and stop over and over again.

Since the latest update to Firefox, I can no longer view videos on my PC. They start, play for a few seconds, then stop and repeat this process over and over again.
I have a high speed internet connection and never had this problem until this past Thursday (10-06-11) after Firefox updated.

Video Download Helper does not work after most recent update. I have cleared cache and cookies, uninstalled both Firefox and the helper,that has not corrected.When Firefox does an update are the "vendors notified so they can see if their product needs changes in order to be compatible? This may sound like a stupid ?, but it makes sense tome. Telling me to download something else, in my eyes is not REALLY solving the problem.

Don't uninstall 36. Just download and install 35 over top and you don't lose any data. I already did and everything works just fine. But I did remove VDH first.

ITunes 11.02 update - video and audio no longer working

I updated to iTunes 11.02 last night.
Now, I can't play any video or any audio files, whether using iTunes or Quicktime. Even online Vimeo and YouTube content won't play. Clicking the play button does nothing - the movie or song's progress indicator doesn't move.
In Sytem Preferences > Sound: I get the following message for input and output devices "No input device found" and "No output device found"
There doesn't seem to be a way to check if the graphics card is recognised but it's still showing up in the system profiler.
Looks like the iTunes update has completely nixed my laptop's video and audio capabilities. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I do a lot of SONY HRD FX1 native 1080i HDV capture with Final Cut Pro 5 on my PowerBook 1.3 GHz G4..
Before Apple started supporting HDV, getting the audio and video lined up was such a nightmare that it wasn't even worth working on projects.
My material works great inside FCP 5, but I have had similar problems to what you describe when making the DVDs
However, I use DVD Studio Pro and was able to move the audio relative to the video slightly to get the most important parts to line up. However if your audio and video clips aren't the same length then you will have variable slippage for long clips.
I have been using MPEG Power Professional (Heuris Inc) to do my MPEG2 video encodes as well as my audio encodes and I haven't had the problem lately.

Updated video asset will not update on track

Most frustrating is DVDSP4 says that the video file has been changed and after answering yes, it shows me black thumbnails on the track and black drop zones in the template.
I have deleted the Par folder, re-imported the asset and most of the time I get no change.
Once in a while all of a sudden in other files it corrects and Im good to go but, frustrating that this doesnt work better.
Can someone tell me line by line what is the sure thing to correct a updated .m2v file of a DVDSP project to show up correctly in my track?
Please, I need good help asap.

IPhoto 08 not updating videos deleted from iMovie 08

Been an iPhoto user for years. During that time I've accumulated hundreds of short video clips taken in the movie mode of my various still cameras. Good stuff but it's always been hard to look at them, until now. iMovie 08 makes it very simple but I've stumbled across a bug which is really troubling me.
Basically I'm using iMovie 08 to view all these short clips. Many of them are garbage so I've been deleting them. The problem is that iPhoto 08 does not know they have been removed. In the iPhoto library, the clips still show up however double clicking on them simply launches QuickTime Player and does nothing, no error, no dialog, no movie. It's as if iMovie isn't telling iPhoto that the movie has been deleted. In any case I've tried many of the rebuild options in iPhoto by launching while holding down Command+Option, none help.
Does anyone know a work around or is this the kind of thing which will hopefully be fixed in a future update?

I open up iMovie and it then imports movies from iPhoto. The problem is it is missing several videos. When I select import video it imports those missing files, so I know it's not a file format issue... Anyone else seen this? Any suggestions on how to get ALL my videos into iMovie?
iPhoto will import any file that can be played in the QT Player (i.e., that is "playback" compatible). On the other hand, iMovie '08 will only import files that it can edit -- i.e. that are "edit" compatible. (Would you really want to waste your time importing files only to find that you can't do anything with them once they are "in" the application?) Your solution is to convert non-edit compatible files to compression formats that are editable -- primarily DV, AIC, M-JPEG, Photo-JPEG, MPEG-4, or H.264. You should also note that both audio and video content must be edit compatible. For instance, many AVI files contain M-JPEG video which can be edited along with ADPCM audio which cannot be edited and so such files will not import.

i cant see the driver either in hp's website.
please help me out finding the right/appropriate driver for my vid.

I have read your post on how you are looking to update the graphics drivers on your notebook computer, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
You can automatically update any out-of-date drivers by following this document on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7) or for (Windows 8).
To find out if there is a hardware incompatibility with the game you are playing and your computer, also suggest running this diagnostic tool: Can You RUN It?
If your system is still performing in a slow manner, I recommend following this document on Improving System Performance without Adding Memory (Windows 7) as well as (Windows 8). This should help improve the speed and efficiency of your system.

How to correctly update video chip drivers

I am currently using Boot Camp with Windows 7 64 Bit on my MBP Early 2011. My question is how can you successfully update the video chip drivers when using windows 7? When I try to install drivers the AMD updater can not recognize my video card. But my games have made it clear that I am not running the most recent drivers

You realize this has been asked 100s of times, right?
Don't use Auto-detect. Download the driver. Unzip. Uninstall Apple gpu driver. Run Driver Sweeper 3.x maybe.
You may be able to install. If not, use Device Manager to update and find the driver you unzipped.
