Updating website from a PC

I have a .mac account and would like to assist my sister in doing a web page. I agree to create the page on my .mac account but she would like to be able to maintain the site through her PC. She has acquired a domain name and it is my understanding that we have her provider use the URL for this iweb project. Or, is it better to have her purchase a year's subscription to iweb (using her PC) and I would just create the web pages under her account?

If you want to create/update/maintain a web site with the iWeb app, you must use a Mac. .Mac also has a facility called Homepage, which lets you make pages via a web browser (or with other web editing programs) and thus doesn't require a specific computer. It has its own forum:

Updating website from on two Macs

I have created two websites, one for the company I work for and another for a client, on my personal MacBook. I am leaving the company so I will need to turn the company site over to my coworker who has an older version of iWeb (I'm using '09). I want to still be able to update the client's site from my personal computer. I know that I have to transfer both sites to the other office computer, but is there a way to still be able to update the second site from my laptop in the future? Thanks!

I just wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be problems with the files since the desktop that I will be copying to has an older version of iWeb.
I would recommend you test it, as that could well be a problem.

You haven't actually asked a question, but as stated you should only download Flash Player directy from Adobe.
Nor have you said what version of OS X and Safari you are running.
You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

Saved and published updated website, changes not saved in iweb. Have lost all work in iweb but correct site is on the internet. Can I retrieve site from internet and replace to iweb so can continue updating?

Just finished updating web site, saved and published. Showed up on the internet finr, went back to do a few tweeks and all my days work is gone! Fine on the net gone in iweb! I don't want to loose the days work. Is there any way to get the website from the internet and stuffit back into iweb, without redoing all the work? Why didn't it save? Wjat can I do to prevent this happening again? Where did I go wrong?

Publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and open it locally with your browser. Check to see if the site is all there. If not
Try the following:
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
launch iWeb and publish to the folder again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
launch iWeb and try again.

You can use your browser and click the RPM's one at a time :)
Or you can use Firefox and get the DownThemAll! extention and use that.
Common methods like:
$ wget -r -np http://public-yum.oracle.com/fail because of the {font:Courier}robots.txt{font} file put there for this very purpose.

Updating itunes from Apple website...

So I'm unsuccessfully trying to update my itunes on my windows laptop. If i were to update it from the 'Download itunes' page on Apple website (even though I already have it) would that update it, or instead would I lose all my music?

If you are still having problems see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Include updated website lists from Microsoft - Not greyed out

As per description of the Group Policy setting "Include updated website lists from Microsoft" on GPMC console, by disabling this setting, the Microsft-provided lists are not used and the user will not be able to activate the feature.
If you disable the setting under "Policies\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Compatibility View\Include updated Web site lists from Microsoft" the checkbox is detached but it is not greyed out.
I have tried to set the policy under Computer Settings, User setting and also making a Registry edition under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\BrowserEmulation by setting "MSCompatibilityMode" to "1" but the behaviour
is still not the desired.
Does anybody know if there is any way to grey out this setting?

This policy controls the website compatibility lists that Microsoft provides. The updated website lists are available on Windows Update.
If you enable this policy setting, the Microsoft-provided website lists are used during browser navigation. If a user visits a site on the compatibility lists, the pages are automatically displayed in Compatibility View.
If you disable this policy setting, the Microsoft-provided website lists are not used. Additionally, the user cannot activate the feature by using the Compatibility View Settings dialog box.

the check for updates to the MSCVL is done the FIRST time the iexplore.exe process is started...
Try rebooting the computer or closing all open IE processes to see if the changes have taken effect.
Check if you have installed and activated Enterprise Mode which will over-ride any MSCVL settings.
Please provide a link to the website where you are seeing the 'undesired' behavior....
the google Plus web page plugin can change outcomes for x-ua meta determination.

I have no issues logging into iCloud account from my MacBook or accessing my account from my iPhone.
But anytime I try to log into the iCloud website from my work PC laptop, it tells me my Apple ID or password are incorrect. I try logging in with both address endings, @mac and @me and nothing.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

UPDATE: I had 36 Safari windows open and minimized on the dock from my last session; 20 of those windows failed to open b/c Safari "couldn't find the server"; I just went to the URL bar of all 20 pages and clicked return, and all 20 pages loaded perfectly, without dropping any images or losing formatting. This is a puzzle!!!
